Ruslamere (again) played a very important part of a very important day for us. Two of our grand-babies were to be dedicated to God and we needed a venue to seat about 40 family and friends from far (Yzerfontein) and wide, (Riebeek West) AND would be age 'friendly'. No stairs or steep inclines to navigate with babies and prams, as well as accomodate Great Grandpa(95) & Great Grandma (84), our VIP guests. (Four generations in one place!) The week before 'our' day The Cape of Storms reminded us that it's winter, but when we arrived at Ruslamere, it was swept clean, not a leaf out of place. The venue was cosy warm as the lovely and very efficient Marion had switched the aircons on before we arrived. Coffee and Tea, cups, saucers and small plates neatly packed out on a pristine white tablecloth. Chairs in comfortable rows, complimentary bottles of water and glasses all handy. Podium, bluetooth soundbar and projector set up and ready. Our ceremony started promptly and ended right on time, 55 minutes later, but our guests were so taken with the joyous occasion and the ambience of the venue, that they lingered and chatted another TWO hours. Some sat inside, but most just soaked up the sun outside in the very lovely and private garden. Great Grandpa included! Not even the babies and their Mamas & Papas were in a hurry to leave. Thank you Ruslamere. Your attention to detail ensured us an unforgettable day!

This was a great space and place to rest our heads after days of intense bowling in Durbanville. The on-site restaurant was an added bonus ... plentiful food and very well priced ...

Short stay but very convenient location to Durbanville Mediclinic. Welcoming staff. Comfortable room and bed but could do with a refresh. Crazy high water pressure, which was actually great for a change.

Relaxing, peaceful and rustic. The staff is very friendly and always ready to assist. You can relax in the garden or just laze at the pool. Rusty Oaks Bistro is a must if you're at Ruslamere.

I spent 10 days at Ruslamere and had a questionable experience. The conference catering and restaurant food is not up to a four star standard at all. I ordered in from Mr D every evening. Although the amenities in the room are quite dated, it was clean and fine just to sleep in. On a cold and windy morning, the one and only coffee machine at the restaurant was not working so no hot beverages were able to be served. We offered to have instant coffee from a kettle but they were unable to provide even that. The maintenance on the property has clearly not been kept up. Weeds and leaves everywhere, building material scattered around… The hotel could have a lot of potential, but the overall feel is that they owners have given up. Hope to have a better impression next time.

The rooms are adequate, no hot water or kettle. The premises are dirty and it looks dilapidated, gras is long, thinks lying around. Would not recommend

Ruslamere Hotel is perfectly located in the suburb of Durbanville, conveniently situated at the edge of the picturesque wine lands of the Western Cape. Each time I have had the pleasure of staying with the Ruslamere team, I’ve experienced a high level of quality hospitality, impeccable service and superb hotel rooms. I highly recommend this establishment and look forward to my next stay.

Lunch. Nice wine and food, but got the food a bit mixed up. I ordered a roasted cauliflower but got a cauliflower burger.

So the rooms are standard. Nothing glam. Good bed, TV, wifi, and theres always hot water for a shower. A classic, old school rooms. What will bring me back again and again is the service and the restaurant. The food is wow. Amazing dishes. Good price for alot of awesome tasting food. Your plate is full. Good strong Cappuccino's. And theres a bar. A beer after work or long day is rewarding. Even if you don't have a room, public is welcome to eat and drink.

Room had aircon that dripped water into the room. Shower was a mess with water not running off fast enough thereby overflowing into the bathroom. Place looks tired and in need of a refurb. They seem to focus more on their conference offering.

Stayed here a few nights ago and been pondering if I should review , seeing that not many people read reviews in my opinion . I should have !!! Where to start ?? Hot water in the rooms , non existent, if you mention it they have an excuse " we have heat pumps and it should have hot water" My colleague also raised it and got same response Following day I got up very early 5:15 and had a Luke warm shower again my colleague took his at 6am but again ... He had a cold one ! Looks like they trying SOMETHING because it looks like a construction site , the kitchen is , well a roomwith sliding doors and then they cook on the patio between reception and the path to the rooms With ovens and grills all over the place 1st and last stay here ! I should have read the reviews

Rooms are poorly serviced, heating not working, blocked washed basins. Management keep arms length from dealing with problems, poor reception staff do their best to deal with inconvenienced guests.

Well we were there on business trip, my oh my the conference place was dirty, the unisex toilets very pathetic and unhygienic. I requested for powder milk and was given clover creamel that thing taste awful for a business making money like that im sure cremora or ellis brown would have been top of the list. Breakfast was not catered for everyone as i dont eat pork and eggs. Overall experience i wouldn't want anybody to even consider this place.

Everything is good and service is excellent but I just wish they could have back up for when there's load shedding. I like the comfort of the rooms, Friendly staff and safer environment 💝💝💝

I was very impressed of this hotel. We had a strategic session at Ruslamere. The service we received from staff was excellent, the conference venue was well organized and the rooms were very neat and beautiful. Definitely I can recommend the place to friends family and colleagues.

I was deeply disappointed in the quality of the service our group received at Ruslamere this past weekend. The meals were poorly co-ordinated, with the restaurant staff seeming to not have been appropriately briefed about our party’s meal requirements. The meals were also very small. For the tea served on arrival, we were given a single plate of 6-8 Danishes and one plate of fruit skewers. I had to request additional food for our group of 15. At lunch, there weren’t enough places set up for us. The team also were not prepared for the Halaal delegates, which delayed lunch and our programme. At our evening meal on Saturday, only one plate of about 10 brownies was set out. When one of our delegates requested more dessert, she was told that “you get what you pay for”. When delegates ordered beverages, they were rudely told that they would need to pay out of their own pockets. It’s incredibly rude to assume guests don’t know payment arrangements. The staff should have asked who the organiser of the party was and spoken with me about payment. It is unacceptable that our delegates who are guests of our organisation which has agreed to pay for this service were made to feel as if they were being given handouts or receiving favours from restaurant staff. Upon our arrival, I checked the bathrooms adjacent to the conference room in which we were placed. They were not entirely clean, with some seats having dried urine on them. I asked your staff if they could freshen up the bathroom and was told that we could use the bathrooms at reception, which was not close to our conference room. I had to make a bottle of surface sanitiser available to our delegates so they could wipe down the seats before using them. Finally, staff were unavailable for any questions or consultation. Each time I went to reception to confirm a detail or request assistance, no one was on hand. This is incredibly frustrating. In addition to running logistics, I also hold facilitation duties and it is very disruptive when I have to leave the conference room for extended periods of time during our programme. Our organisation runs many such events as a core part of our work. We expect our guests at these events to be treated with courtesy, and for the service to be on par with what is promised when we accept a quote. The experience we had this weekend fell far short of those expectations. I won’t be recommending Ruslamere to anyone in my personal or professional capacity.

I attended a conference at Ruslamere. Everything was very professional. The conference centre was clean, practical and had the necessary electronic equipment needed for the lecture. Would definitely recommend.

Very disappointed with the facilities. Website is very misleading. Bedroom reaked of cigarettes and have asked to be moved for tonight as could not sleep. We were also told on arrival that we could not use their restaurant or bar facilities as there was a function on. They should have informed us at the time of booking. However staff that were there were very helpful.

DURBANVILLE PRIMARY SCHOOL Thank you Ruslamere for the wonderful stay our guest speaker had at your Hotel and Conference Centre! The service was excellent and the room was beautiful and immaculate! She enjoyed the calm and peacefulness of the gardens and facilities and the beautifully renovated restaurant. Ruslamere is conveniently situated in the heart of the beautiful Durbanville Winelands with Durbanville Medi-Clinic, shops and restaurants within 5 minutes drive.

I made a booking and made immediate payment for the stay Unfortunately had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances Have requested refund and have been told to wait for the “owners” to return within a week to confirm cancellation costs and refund Very poor that there is no one that can manage Hotel and admin duties whilst owners are there Still awaiting confirmation and refunds 48hrs later Very poor!!

A little let down, tried to do last minute booking on website, could not get it done, called and booked room for the night... surprise for wifes bday, got there and was charged almost 30% more. Non the less, we were told bar closes at 10, got back from our dinner at 9pm, everything was closed

What an enjoyable stay, the staff were friendly and helpful, lovely facilities, the food was amazing (with names like "The chicken that crossed the road" - how cool) and the bedlinen felt like we were sleeping on a cloud.
