I’ve shopped at keys for the past 15 years and it’s always been one of my favourite shops to buy gifts. I will however probably never go back. For the past 3 or 4 years I’ve been helped by one extremely unfriendly lady. I let it go on a few occasions thinking maybe she just had a bad day. Today was just the last time I will accept that kind of treatment. I returned a ring that I used a gift voucher for and it was 3 days after the return policy, I found the plating too yellow and didn’t realise the side stones were not what I wanted. The ring was not the issue. The issue is that when I asked to look at the gold rings because I’ve been looking for something aquamarine for years she acted like I can’t afford it and didn’t really want to show me much, she checked the price of the rings whenever I asked to see one and told me I can’t see them all at once, I had to ask for the rings to be put on the counter, she rolled her eyes. I decided to pick a few smaller items and told my sister to pick a pendant to make up the R1300. She also seemed very annoyed to help me with anything. The same lady also gave me a mouthful and some snarky comments when I returned a gift two years ago, saying that gifts aren’t supposed to be exchanged. I don’t know this ladies name ( could be Christine), she’s very skinny and pale and always moody. I prefer to go to Trigg opposite because they are always nice and don’t assume that I can’t afford anything,especially semi- precious gems. I won’t be returning after 15 or 20 years I no longer wish to spoil my day or come back another day to avoid rude staff. Please train your staff.

I've been shopping here for over a decade. The service has been consistently atrocious. They are disinterested and never offer assistance. When you do call them over for help they are condescending and do the bare minimum. I was very close to making a purchase but chose not to support a store that treats their customers so badly.

What a beautiful little shop, perfect when needing a beautiful but well priced gift for ladies of all ages. Such a large variety that one can easily become overwhelmed. Very helpful and pleasant staff.

Absolutely appalling experience - probably rates as the worst experience of my shopping career. I returned an article that was received as a gift but was not a standard I expected from Kay's Antiques (a R1000 frame stuck together with sticky tape) and was told I was lying. Check what you buy - it may be flawed - and if you take it back you will be faced with a shouting match and self righteous justification. Not an experience I would recommend.

Sold me a piece of glass under the pretense that it was an Opal. Spent well over a thousand rand for the tiny stone. Only to have it checked and told its glass with some film underneath it to reflect color. It's a very sad and dispointing truth and I hope you don't continue to sell fake stones to your clients in the future. I'll be in your store tomorrow but I doubt it will be to any warrant.

An absolute experience! Excellent service along with stock from a bygone era. Always a pleasure to see what their window display has changed to!

Purchased a few items from the shop over time. When asking what the offer value was for a high valued victorian piece, they offered me half of what I originally paid but wasnt interested in the item they had sold to me. A bit disappointing all considering

Not the friendliest staff, as a result spent about 2 min in the shop and then left.

Love this place. Great value, interesting and unique pieces. One of my favourite places to go for gifts (to give and receive!)
