Very interesting and effective approach - the entire practice is designed to look after you. So if your preferred Dr is on leave, they have enough information on file for another doctor to step in. When they say that they are going to ‘look after you’ they really do mean it - everyone from the front desk staff to the doctors commit to make this promise work. It’s such a rare, wonderful thing to have an entire practice look after an entire family nowadays. We used to have it in the past - where your family GP would deliver you and treat you as you grew up, fostering a wonderful bond between doctor and patient. At most practices in Cape Town, you feel like you’re in a factory - where doctors aim to churn out as many consults as they can! But not at this practice - here, you’re seen as and respected as a person. And the practice works to ensure you’re in good health always! This level of expertise and compassion is rare and I’m so glad to have finally found it with Dr Ransome and her team!

Very efficient and communicative reception and administrative team. Doctors are kind, caring and thoughtful. Practice always sends a follow-up message to check-in on the patient and resolve any concerns.

This place literally saved my life. The doctors there are so attentive and care so much for their patients. This type of care led to an early cancer diagnosis which I credit for saving my life. Before that event, I had come to this office for primary care needs for about 2 years. My doctor there spent a great deal of time with me and also incorporated mental health checks into my visit, thereby having a more holistic view of my overall health. All of the doctors are fantastic as I had seen them when my GP was booked solid. The receptionist is an amazing ally who works tirelessly to get you in quickly when you have an acute problem that needs to be seen by a doctor as quickly as possible. This is hands down the best care in Cape Town for your primary care needs. I will continue to go there as I feel like I am treated like a whole person instead of just a "patient."

We've been going to the Family Doctors since 2019 and I have just been so relieved to have found a practice where the the doctors actually listen you. The secretary and doctors are always friendly and supportive, and the doctors take the time to really listen to your symptoms and ask about greater factors. I never feel like I am just a slot in a busy appointment book that's being rushed through.

Recently my GP of many years retired. I thought I'd ask around for references. In the mean time I searched the Web and found The Family Doctor which is situated 1.8km from where I live. I was immediately attracted by the Tree Logo and then by the happy, friendly face of Dr Ransome. I made an appointment to assess the set-up. When I arrived, after parking near to the entrance door, I entered the reception which is large and beautiful with calming colours and artworks and very cheery and friendly receptionists. I was taken in by Dr Sarah Abrahams right on time (I have waited many times up to an hour at other doctors). Dr Abrahams was kind and attentive and she did a thorough first assessment. She also shared with me a condition which was similar to mine and we could discuss how this was affecting our running exercise. This was very helpful. In the 75years that I have experienced Medical attention this was one of the best and I look forward to further encounters.

I didn't look further after finding The Family Doctor. I highly recommend this amazing team of doctors and the support team to care for your family. Although doctors have come and gone, the ethos of the practice remains and has been consistent over the years. It's more than quality healthcare .. it's peace of mind; and knowing that, as a patient, you are seen and heard.

I recently visited the family doctor practice. I had a lovely experience, beginning with the receptionist who was friendly and accommodating. I often find the receptionists of Doctors to be quite horrible/harsh but not this one. The doctor herself was really calm and very patient. I felt comfortable (it was my first time visiting this practice) and enjoyed how she didn’t rush the consultation at all. She was friendly and thorough. The doctor was on time for my appointment. I often find that I wait at least 20mins to see a doctor despite having an appointment (at other practices in my past experience), so I really appreciated that she was punctual because I am extremely busy and can’t always afford the long wait. I would recommend this practice, based on my experience

I've been going to The Family Doctor practice since moving to Cape Town in 2020 and have never been disappointed. The doctors are kind, caring and understanding. There's always a warm welcome from the receptionist and the doctors are professional and friendly. I've only had good experiences and know my health is in good hands when I walk in there!

Website and waiting room – both beautiful and inviting and follow up e-mail – don’t think anyone else do that.
