Rooms big enough and good location at the Plateau. Well packed bar at the front. Restaurant staff very friendly. Wifi sucks especially inside the room. Complaints takes days to settle. Hot water non existence sometimes in the morning (once there was no water at all in the morning). Restaurant is too small for hotel guests so there is not enough place during breakfast. Breakfast suppose to start at 7.30 am but after 7.30 am, staff still not ready with the food. Too many flies especially in the afternoon - it's seems like no one from the hotel cares about flies and it landing on food. Even found maggots in the papaya once. Communication will be tough as not all staff well verse in English. Shuttle between the airport and hotel is available but need to book upfront. In summary the hotel has good potentials but the management hardly working on improvements or instill better service culture to the staff.

Very nice staff, all of them are really kind. Bed was very hard. Breakfast is extensive but you have to be on time before for example juice runs out. Good location and good place to stay in Praia.

I actually stayed at one of their sister properties, but they let me spend the afternoon there between check-out time and my flight late at night. One of the staff members was really helpful: I think his name was Nilton Cesar. He let me leave my bag for a while and then helped get me a taxi to the airport. Thanks for being so kind!

Sure the WiFi can be patchy, so what. That's not what makes a hotel great. If you're trying to decide where to stay in Praia, stay at Hotel Santa Maria. Really good price considering how classy the place is, and odds are you won't find better accommodation for a better price. I had no hot water issues at all and the service from staff was 11/10. O we and beyond the call of duty. Stay here, seriously. Excellent location also.

We stayed 2 nights, double room relatively small, no hot water, decent breakfast, without wifi in the room and in the lobby (considering I was working), when I complained to the reception they said that it was working perfectly fine. Then I realized that the staff were on You Tube to watch the telenovelas. At the end: I went for a telephone top up for 1000 esc to work with the Hotspot.

Starting with the good parts: it's in the centre and we had warm water. 1 star. The bad parts: the staff has forgotten how to smile, the rooms are small and the bed is like sleeping in a bowl. The room has a lack of sockets, the shower is broken and they forgot to fill the soap. The breakfast is better to skip, just go to a store nearby.

Avoid absolutely this place if you come to Praia. I had booked, I arrived late at night, and I had told them I would. After paying, they send me off to an another hotel, which had no hot water, without explaining me! Horrible and stressful expérience

Great beds. Quiet place. Free breakfast. Great location for city and easy to get to. WiFi mainly works in lobby only 😣. Downsides: one key per room. Doors can not be opened or locked without key (odd + unsafe). Reasonable pricing per night

Simple clean but good and centrally located hotel in Praia

The good: -clean rooms. They really put an effort in keeping the place clean. -comfy beds. -the location: it's in the plateau, so very close to restaurants and cafes. The bad: -zero noise isolation. We could hear everything that was going on with the other guests. Particularly annoying if there were late arriving guests or early departing guests. -the room was so small we could barely move (despite having paid for a "suite". It had one tiny window facing a inside yard, so almost no natural light. -the breakfast is not very good. They don't bother to keep it warm, so by 9 am you have cold scrambled eggs and sausages. "Juice" is fake powder drink. -wifi isn't very stable. -you have to pay extra if you want drinking water. For the price we payed, I feel that we should have got a way better deal. But we know now for the next time.

I would like to share my experience with this hotel, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend it for a specific reason—what appears to be a lack of commitment to customer experience and assistance. I must commend the professionalism and kindness of the receptionists at both Santa Maria and Deluxe. However, I encountered challenges with the hotel's management, which I found to be unprofessional. I had initially planned to stay for two nights before a scheduled trip. Unfortunately, my travel plans changed within the first day, and I realized I couldn't stay the second night. I approached the hotel management and politely explained my situation, requesting a refund (second night). Regrettably, I was informed that there is a no-refund policy, and there seemed to be no willingness to assist me. I'm uncertain if this experience had any relation to my status as a local immigrant, as I felt a lack of respect in their approach. It is my belief that, had the situation involved a Portuguese guest, a resolution might have been found and readily. I travel extensively to Cape Verde and other countries, and I have had the opportunity to stay at various hotels. I can confidently assert that there are many other hotels in Praia with superior management and a more favorable customer experience. This was my first experience with this hotel, and I am hesitant to consider future stays. I hope this feedback contributes to improving customer relations and experiences.

The restaurant looks pretty well. When we sit down waiters put a menu for us. We ordered two beers. When we wanted to order food, he told that the kitchen was closed already. To offered menu ,he didn't warn us about time that the kitchen would soon closed. Moreover we tried to order in 3 min that another table has dove their order. Even we protest that was ridiculous, the kitchen refused to take the order. We were sitting and drinking beer and looking that from the kitchen went the dishes like fry shrimps and after 20 min went two dishes more: meat and fish. It was over our disappointment. To bad service and honestly say stupid and not logical treatment of clients.

We did not stay at the hotel but asked the staff if they could keep our bagges during the day. They were super friendly and helped us. Thanks!!

Good size clean rooms. Do not expect a warm or hot shower. Average breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.

The bed was very uncomfortable, room very dark and too small, small bathroom not equipped, it needs a renovation.
