Loved my stay at Casamarel! Great location, unbelievable views, friendly service! Daily breakfast by the pool. I was there for valentines day and they offered a great/romantic dinner with live music. Highly recommend Casamarel and will definitely go back!

We came across this place after walking in circles looking for breakfast/brunch. We were absolutely floored with the experience we had at Casamarel. The owner (Laura), is extremely kind and has worked very hard to create a luxurious and welcoming environment (despite the many challenges COVID has brought to the travel/tourism industry across the globe). We ate here twice for breakfast and twice for dinner in a span of four days. The dining experience is incredible with many courses being offered, and each dish uses local (as much as possible) foods. Would come again just for the dining and view!

Wonderful hotel above the roofs of Mindelo. We stayed at Casamarel twice during our holiday and spent Christmas and New Year's Eve there. It was perfect. The rooms have all the comforts and the terrace with a view of the city and the harbour is very nice. The food in the restaurant is perfect. Sometimes we had to wait a bit longer for our breakfast, but in such a wonderful place that is no problem. And the motto of Cape Verde is, after all, No Stress. The team was very friendly and the owner of the hotel makes them feel welcome an chats with all the guests. Simply perfect! Thank you very much.

What a beautiful hotel in Mindelo. The rooms are so spacious ! Colonial style, beautiful stairs..lots of stairs. The personel is very styly, very helpful and friendly. They will make your stay one to remember! The restaurant at the nice Pool is a jewel. Food excellent!

We have been only in the restaurant, which is open to the people that are not staying in the hotel, which is a very significant idea, as the food and the service are more than five stars. The view over the city and the bay is fantastic. The food was gorgeous; the octopus was delicious and all of the sides as well, very recommended. If you are in Mindelo, this is a must-go place 😀

We visited the restaurant, and it was the best idea ever! A true hidden gem (from the outside, no one can imagine what they will find). A beautiful terrace with a pool, perfect for a romantic dinner. Laura, the very kind owner, made us feel special. The food was divine, and the service was top-notch. A perfect score for the staff, especially Cici, who made the night unforgettable. A must-visit for anyone in Mindelo. Thank you!

Highest regards to Laura and all of the folks at The Casamarel! We just finished a wonderful stay with them and truly cannot wait to return. The service and attention to detail that they provide is unmatched, and we particularly appreciated Laura’s local tips about Mindelo and guidance as we planned a hiking trip to Santo Antão. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the beach or a 5 minute cab. Either way, a great location and very peaceful. The hotel itself is in a gorgeously renovated historic home with a relaxing pool and restaurant terrace. Every meal we had there was delicious — especially the octopus salad and the chocolate and caramel tart. The view from our room of Mindelo and the bay were truly spectacular, especially at sunset. We highly recommend this hotel and it’s one of our favorite places we’ve ever stayed.

We had a wonderful stay at The Casamarel. Laura is such a lovely host, she and her team are so kind and welcoming. We enjoyed the room, the view, the salted water pool and the great food. We just loved it here, looking forward to visit them again. Would really reccomend a stay at The Casamarel.

We had diner twice here. The first night was so good, we made a reservation for the next. Just like many others. The filet mignon in cognac cream peper sauce is definitely going to be repeated in my own kitchen.

Beautifully appointed rooms with everything well thought out. We had a huge balcony. The kind of place where all the details have been thought through so you don't have to worry about anything. The owner is a hospitality professional and gave us a relaxed but engaging welcome. It felt great just to be there. Cocktails are exceptional and the food was also brilliant; to be able to have this by the lovely pool was an added bonus. It is not easy to put together a team that does all this smoothly but I am impressed!

I stood here for about 3 weeks and I must say I loved every moment .. The room was fantastic. The food is amazing.. The staff was outstanding, the staff made me feel at home. The hosts are great Lutz and Laura are really great.. I look forward to come back here and would recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone 😍 😊

We stayed here with our two young kids for about a week. And it was amazing! The staff is great, the hotel beautiful, the view breathtaking and the food perfect. I would recommend anyone visiting Cabo Verde to stay here.

We were staying at the hotel next door and stumbled upon The Casamarel whilst looking for cocktails. They were so good, and their hospitality so impeccable, we went back the next day for lunch by the pool! Great view, friendly owner, really tasty food and the staff couldn't do enough for us, so lovely! Once we saw the inside of the hotel as well, we were kicking ourselves for not having booked a room there!! Anyway, I highly recommend it for food and drinks, especially the mojito: my partner is a bit of a mojito connoisseur and said it was the best he'd ever had in his entire life! Well done to the whole staff 👏

Beautiful small stylish hotel. We stayed there two nights. Large rooms, some with private terrace overlooking town. Walking distance to the ferry. Loved the breakfast and dinning next to the pool. Super friendly Aussie owner.

We had a really great stay at Casamarel in Mindelo. The rooms are nicely furnished, decorated and clean, the staff is super friendly and the food in the hotel restaurant was delicious. 100% recommendation!

This hotel was fantastic! Small, but very upscale with delicious fare available on the dining patio. If ever I am in Sao Vicente again, this hotel can count on my staying there.
