Plaza Italia is a small park in the city of Buenos Aires, in the Palermo neighborhood, at the confluence of Avenida Santa Fe and Avenida Sarmiento. Adjacent to the square are the main entrances to the zoo, botanical garden and Rural Rural Center. Small, well-kept square, where the metro station of the same name is located. It has a statue in honor of the guerrilla fighter Giuseppe Garibaldi who, although Italian, also played a significant role in South America, mainly in southern Brazil.

An important monument in Plaza Italia. In honor of the Italian soldier and politician Giuseppe Garibaldi. It is framed by Sante Fe, Sarniento and Las Heras avenues, in front of the Eco Parque, the well-known Palermo fairgrounds, where the Expo Ganadera exhibition is held every year, and the Botanical Garden. It is a replica of the original found in the city of Brescia (Italy).

Very important monument in homage to Giuseppe Garibaldi, in the middle of Plaza Italia. Classical style monument, cast in bronze and on a pedestal built of reinforced concrete. I recommend visiting it to anyone who is walking nearby.

(Translated by Google) located in Plaza Italia, which is framed by the Santa Fe, Sarmiento and Las Heras Avenues, in front of the Eco Park, the Rural Fairground and the Botanical Garden of the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo. This large sculpture, a replica of the one in the city of Brescia (Italy), is the work of the Italian artist Eugenio Maccagnani and was inaugurated in 1904. It is actually a sculptural ensemble that measures almost 16 meters high and weighs 600 tons, formed by a stair-shaped base, on which stands a large granite pedestal, from where the bronze figure of the Italian hero rises, dressed in a civilian with a neckerchief, mounted on horseback, tightening the reins Completing this work, allegorical figures that allude to Liberty and Victory, on its base you can see two reliefs related to battles in which this general acted, it has legends in Latin that describe the qualities of this illustrious patriot and plaques reminiscent of this donation of Italians to Argentina. I must admit that I passed him countless times, yet I had never paid attention to him, and I can say that it is worth stopping for a moment to contemplate him.

The Monument to Giuseppe Garibaldi is an equestrian sculpture in honor of the hero of the unification of Italy and is located in Plaza Italia, in the Palermo neighborhood, Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was made by the Italian sculptor Eugenio Maccagnani and inaugurated in 1904. It is a meeting place in the city of Buenos Aires since around it are the Ecopark, the City Botanical Garden, El Predio de la Rural, and along Av. Sarmiento is the entrance to the Palermo Forests, which is a set of parks with lakes, the Planetarium, headquarters of several clubs, the Argentine Hippodrome and the Polo Field among other things.

Very nice monument that has a lot of relevance, as one of the main unifiers of the Italian Republic and reflects a tribute to all those millions of immigrants who arrived from Italy, and of which many Argentines are descendants. A shame that some bastardize them (out of ignorance or malice) that luckily they did not reach as much as they did at the time with the Columbus monument.

(Translated by Google) There should not be a statue of Garibaldi in the country, and even less where it is, surely that man did not even know where Argentina is, there was no merit, and there is no merit, for that man to occupy a place where there should be a hero of ours.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful monument that I climbed more than once when I was a child while my parents waited for bus 141 to go to the horse.

(Translated by Google) Formerly called Plaza de los Portones, due to the two entrance gates to Tres de Febrero Park on the current Avenida Sarmiento. In 1909 it receives its current name. In the center of the square is the Monument to Giuseppe Garibaldi, inaugurated on June 19, 1904. The first electric tram in the city left from here on April 22, 1897. A plaque on Av. Santa Fe remembers that moment thanks to the contribution of the Friends of the Tram Association. It also features a 2,000-year-old marble column taken from the Roman Forum, one of the oldest relics in the city. The piece, 1.9 meters high and 55 centimeters in diameter, was donated in 1955 by the Mayor's Office of Rome and was first located in Libertador and Luis María Campos, until in 1984 it was moved to its current location.
