Their algorithm seems to work for a lot of people, but not for me. The first T-shirt was a disaster in every way and had a production mistake in them. After many changes to it I still ended up with 5 T-Shirts with a neck too big. Perfect fit - no. The thing that annoys me the most is the wavy bacon-like neck band. It makes the overall shirt look look cheap, what it was not at all. I dont see this in my cheaper shirts. Ironing only improves it slightly. The farbic otherwise is good and the customer support was nice.

The signup process was great and straightforward. I bought a t shirt and a jumper for a total of £151, and looked forward to the courier. If you are buying from the UK, the delivery process does take a bit of time. I ordered on the 27th August, notified of shipping on 9th September, delivery received on 14th September. 18 days from order to delivery. Packaging was great, and was rather excited. The t-shirt was great with the initials I wanted, not the finest merino but great none the less. I was mistaken I thought the jumper was meant to have initials on it, but that was my bad it does not. The problem with the jumper was it was too tight for me and had a hole in it where the label was (see attached). I sent a message to SoaT and got a reply 24 hours later. The email ignored the hole and was instructed to get someone to take 3 photos of me wearing so they can address the size problems. At that point I was lost, quite frankly could not be arsed to bother a mate to take pictures of me wearing the tight jumper. Then to stick it in the post to wait 2 weeks for the jumper to get back to the fine land of Denmark, for then another 3 weeks for a new replacement to be sent. In that time I will be able to suitably starve myself to fit into it and with the hole will use it for less luxurious tasks as gardening or mucking out the pigs. If I do not lose the weight then will give it to a skinny friend or find another use. Fingers crossed the t-shirt maintains its shape after its first wash. I followed the instructions perfectly so should be cool. I love the idea of using tech on clothes, and first experience of Stitch was magnificent. These guys just not quite up to mustard IMHO to save me from writing a magnificent review. Sorry SoaT.

I ordered 3 t-shirts in 3 different materials and 3 different colors. All the t-shirts were made to measure as recommended by Son of a Tailor, but I made them a little smaller (as I wanted a tighter fit). Eleven days passed and I had the three t-shirts delivered to my door. I think the one t-shirt made of merino wool was not as fit as the others and also 4-5 cm longer. I contacted customer service, who suggested I just wash it and check the measurements again (the other 2 were pre-washed). It helped and it was now similar to the fit, like the other 2. What all three had in common, however, was that I think they were 4-5 cm too long and almost covered my bottom. On their website I could see that they had a free re-fit - I took the necessary photos and quickly got an email saying that now they wanted to make 3 NEW t-shirts free of charge and send them to me!! I thought I would have to send the t-shirts back and they would re-sew them - I was spared that hassle. The customer service exceeds my expectations and will therefore give them my warmest recommendations! The quality of the 3 t-shirts is also impeccable!

The best part of this shirt is the customer service. They are very nice, and quick to respond to emails. Creating my custom shirt was easy and fun, but the product itself was severely lacking. Put shortly these shirts are expensive custom rags. Three cycles in the washer and the material is done for. After that you can expect wrinkled collars, quickly thinning material and a general loss of shape. Additionally, although the two shirts I purchased had the same custom profile, they each have different lengths? There seems to be a problem with consistency in the cutting process. Before you buy be aware: You are not paying for a quality shirt that will last you a long time. Instead, the expense is justified by the fabrication of a tailored garment. It is a creative business model, but if you want a good fitting shirt that will last and you’re thinking about paying a little extra for quality, a good fit and longevity consider a different brand. Vuori, outdoor voices and good man brand all make excellent, quality shirts that fit perfectly right off the rack. Unfortunately, I Will not be returning for more.

Such a simple but genius idea, executed really well. Simple guide to taking your measurements and resulting fit is so much better than buying regular store sizes. Plus they have a great range of styles and colours. And quality of the finish and fabric is well worth the price. I've had some t-shirts that i've been wearing and washing for at least 3 years and they're still in great shape.

These T shirts are simply the best I’ve ever found. The fit is perfect, made each time to your exact requirements and they wash and iron superbly. The heavyweight cotton fabrics looks great. I’m replacing all my former T shirts with a Son of a Tailor collection in lots of lovely colours and will move on to some of the long sleeve styles as Autumn approaches. Highly recommend them, the quality and fit makes them really good value for the price.

I've now ordered t-shirts from SOT in cotton, wool, short and long sleeves, and a knitted pullover. First off the positive points, which exceed from far the negatives (I've given 5 stars after all, and I'm rather picky). The quality is absolutely great on all the products, cotton and wool. For the fit: being very slim & tall, I had never managed to find garments that fit really well for the upper body. These do, perfectly. I pretty much don't buy t-shirts elsewhere now, just wait for SOT to come up with new ranges of colours that I like to buy them. Special mention for the wool t-shirts: I had only one and had to buy 2 more because they are quite addictive. It's just perfect for travelling light, for mid-season weather which can be chilly in the morning but very warm during the day, resists odours naturally... Now the negatives: for me the biggest one here is that depending on the times/batches, SOT t-shirts do come with small variations in size although they should all be made using the same pattern. That said, they're still the best fits I have, but it's frustrating. Second point, the cotton t-shirts, unlike almost any other cotton t-shirt I've had, need to be ironed. The quality of the cotton doesn't come in question, but for some reason it just keeps the wrinkles more. One more thing: the pullover is amazing, so comfortable and warm, I'm almost looking forward for the colder days :)

I ordered 2 basic black T-shirts one with light cloth and the other with heavier cloth. The materials are exceptional and for the most part the custom fit was very good except for the neckline. Both T shirts had necklines that were too big. They looked cheap. The fit would not make them conducive to wearing with a sport jacket or be stylish casual. I sent pictures to Son of a Tailor showing the neckline of the shirts they sent me as well as an old of the rack, black T- shirt and pictures of their own adds showing much smaller and proper necklines. The contrast was noticeable. Their response was somewhat conciliatory and they did replace one of the shirts, however the problem was still the same. At $85 each I'll likely not order anymore unless I can be guaranteed a better fitted neckline.

We got off to a rough start, in that it took two rounds of the free remake guarantee to get the merino t-shirts right. They will remake the order if it deviates from the specified dimension by 2.5cm or more, which was the case here. Customer Service was responsive, but is not in a position to advise on tweaks to get a better fit; proving the 2.5cm inaccuracy via photos is all that matters. Since then, the quality of the merino and workmanship has proven itself through multiple washes and sweaty treks through South American jungles with a heavy backpack. I'd even say they're quite good value: it is easy to find 100% merino t-shirts from well-known, mass-produced brands for around the same price (but they only come in boring colours). Other orders, including high-neck merino t-shirts and oxford shirts, were right on the first try. They seem to be carefully made and matched the automatically calculated measurements precisely, but fit much more sloppily than what the images on the website would have you expect. I wish there was a low-cost way to test out sizing before shelling out so much every time.

I ordered 6 items in middle of October. They sent me 2 items to see if it was the correct size in November. In late December they said there’s a production delay. I asked for a timeframe and they couldn’t provide one. In January at the 3 month point I asked where the items were and they told me they still haven’t been made, and to check my junk email because they wanted to check the sizing again. after numerous emails to customer service over months and pathetic excuses on their part I finally received a partial refund. This company has nice marketing, branding and product photos. But they can’t even do what they advertise and the actual quality of the clothing isn’t very good either. Waste of time.

I had the best experience with Son of a Tailor. They provided me with multiple variation of sizes until I got my perfect fit t-shirt, which is something they do (they call it perfect fit guarantee). After I got my perfect fit, I ordered many items using the same perfect custom size. The quality and size persisted across orders. The customer services at Son of a Tailor is amazing and they are very cooperative.

Ordered 7 items. Very Happy indeed. Excellent fit and the materials used are very good. I would definitely be ordering again. The long sleeve High neck T Shirts are the best I’ve ever found. Thank you

I really like these T-Shirts - more than I would pay normally, but really worth it. The fit is perfect, and they were so good at getting this right, allowing me to return the first shirt and have the cut adjusted. Really impressed

This is in my top 5 online experiences. Well, top 5 brands, actually. You pay a little more than you average t shirts, but get it custom fit and in a quality that surpasses most competitors. Should you fail to nail you custom fit in the first attempt they out-of-this-world customer’s service will make it right free of charge. Of course your fit will be saved with your profile for your next order. Because you will most likely be back:-)

Used these guys many times now.. and I feel like I have my own tailor, hand making my garments. Very nice service and great products. The garments are not cheap, but the quality is first class and if you order several at a time then you can benefit from a great discount. Will be ordering from them a lot more in the future.

Used Son of a Tailor to create merino wool t-shirt. Typically the merino t-shirts that I have purchased are too short for my tastes. However, with Son of a Tailor, I was able to replicate my favorite t-shirt, but in a great new material. All I had to do was take a few measurements of a t-shirt that I really love, and plug that into the website. The new shirt was made to my exact measurements and fit perfectly (after a wash...it was a little big when i first received it). The merino wool is soft, breathable and has been my go-to travel t-shirt since I have bought it. I have worn it on warm days camping at the beach, and on cooler days when visiting San Francisco. I would 100% recommend Son of a Tailor and will be using them in the future.

When they say, perfect fit guarantee, I'd like to take them at their word. The only problem is I've never been able to utilize the guarantee, because I've never gotten anything other than the most form fitting and precisely fitted shirts, in impeccable quality fabric. I am patiently waiting for the day they release a wool-based button down!

Great quality garments and even better service. Hard to believe that I can place a custom made order, in another country, and receive my order delivered in two weeks. Some domestic retailers with stock in a warehouse don't deliver as quickly. Great quality and fit which is why I've ordered four times.

Third t-shirt, again comes in time and fits perfectly. Made some small adjustments and now it is just great. Now I have found the size that I will use from now on. Great merino easy to wash and dries quickly. If no sport you can use it several days without washing. I am very happy!

This is my second time I've ordered from SOT. Quality of the t-shirts are great, after many washes and wear the product still feels new and has retained it's original shape, size and colour. Customer service has been excellent. In my recent order, there was a slight mistake (from my end) and they came a little shorter than I had liked. After a quick email and sending across some details to the team they were able to send a revised order. Delivery time is reasonable, ~2 weeks for the product to be made and delivered. Overall, the pricing is at the slightly higher end but it's justifiable by the excellent product quality and good customer service - it's likely I will re-order soon. What I would like to see is a little more variation in the product line e.g. shirts with more material variations and styles. It would also be nice if you would be branching out into trousers. Thanks Tim
