We decided not to stay in rifle gap State park because we found a road from the park into the BLM land at the top of one of their RV parks. From there you opened the gate and drove through a wilderness area and then you had access to the BLM land. The road was extremely rough, however our four-wheel drive Sprinter 170 wheelbase van made it up and we found a beautiful campsite with a view of the reservoir and mountains below. There was no one else up there just us. There were many campsites with fire rings to choose from on the way up.

Very nice State Park campground with a beautiful view of Rifle Gap and the reservoir. We stayed in Cedar Loop site 69 which is the highest site in that loop and had a decent view of the lake and was set off kind of by itself. We had a doe and her fawn make their way through the back of our site several times on their way to the lake and back. We only stayed one night on our way home from Utah but I would highly recommend this campground. The bathrooms were clean with pay showers, $1 for four minutes. Bonus feature was the covered picnic table in each site, which is a feature I don’t believe I have ever saw in any campground.

This place is absolutely incredible! The cleanliness and impeccable maintenance of the sites, along with the convenience of full hook-ups, make it a top-notch destination. The spaciousness of each site ensures ample privacy, allowing you to fully unwind. The stunning view adds another layer of beauty to the experience. Additionally, the reliable Starlink connection is a major plus, keeping you connected even in such a serene environment. There's never a dull moment here, with plenty of activities to choose from. Whether you're into invigorating hikes, thrilling water sports, or simply indulging in relaxation while savoring the breathtaking view, this place has it all. The sunsets are truly awe-inspiring and will leave you breathless. While there are a few minor challenges to consider, they are easily manageable. The occasional strong winds warrant some caution when it comes to keeping your awning secure, ensuring a worry-free stay. It's worth noting that the cell service can be a bit unreliable at times, but with such a remarkable setting, it presents an opportunity to disconnect and embrace the tranquility. In rare instances, there might be some water backup issues, leading to the occasional occurrence of discolored water. However, this is a minor inconvenience compared to the overall exceptional experience you'll have at this remarkable place.

I love it up here, it's beautiful and the staff and rangers are very nice. Has utilities and the prices for camping isn't that much. Also has phone service via Verizon booster at the building. Nice boat ramp and a spot set for water skiing and the lot.

Hosts were great. Be careful if you're showering at night in the handicapped stall or the motion detectors will tell the lights to go off...UGH! Close to Rifle Falls, which are BEAUTIFUL!!!

Beautiful campgrounds. The Host was super helpful when we realized our RV had a flat & didn't have cell service. They got me to the ranger station cell booster to call for a tire. The bathrooms were spotless & I didn't see a site that didn't have a view.

Rifle Gap State Park and the reservoir are a delightful place to visit. There are numerous vantage points to view the water and mountains by car, a cool trail that circles the water, and of course access to the reservoir for boats. The water was beautiful and high, though I heard it was low for a while due to drought. Many people were fishing, so I assume it's a good spot for that though I didn't have any gear along. Definitely worth the short drive from town.

Beautiful State Park in Rifle not very far from Rifle Falls. It would make a beautiful picnic and swim Beach experience. Great place for family to hang out. Your park pass is $10 make sure you take cash if the park ranger is not there. They have bathrooms and tables in a shaded area . I wish I had more time to explore this place. Next time I go I'm going to spend more time here.

We had a beautiful and very clean campground in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the lake. We enjoyed geocaching. Love that the island in the middle of the lake has picnic tables and wish we knew beforehand so we could have planned a picnic meal on the island. We happened to be camping here during a meteor shower on a clear night. We were treated to quite the show. It is so dark at Rifle Gap, (though not a certified dark sky) that my partner and I both experienced phenomena we have never experienced before such as the stars twinkling , and stars appearing to move around in place. We looked up that this happens in darker places as the atmosphere scrambles the light from the star. We also saw very bright streaks of shooting stars and very big shooting starts. The pinion loop is a great place for star gazing, will never forget our experience camping at rifle gap.

Camped here in late October, after leaving Rifle Falls. Nice to have a dump station here since the falls campsite did not. Other than the camp host we were the only people camping in the park. The lake was beautiful but crazy low, like 30-50 feet low. Boat ramp was closed. Hot showers (fee required) are available and the bathrooms were super clean. We stayed in the Cedar campground with power hookups only. Cell service for us (Verizon) was zero at the camp site. Note the main office has a Verizon booster that syncs up if you are near the building for a few minutes. Deer came through the camp which was cool. Overall, great campsite just wish the water level was higher.

It’s very beautiful and the Lakeview campground we stayed is among the bests. We had site 28, a pull through, full hookups site with incredible views. We hiked and biked, had 3 bar 5G cell signal.

There are numerous campsites. They have a beach area with covered seating picnic tables and fire pits.. All throughout the park you will see bathroom facilities. This place is ideal for camping.

One of the most beautiful places Jaxx and I have visited. The falls were spectacular and interactive, meaning you get close enough to shower. Restrooms were clean and park staff get 5 of 5 stars.

👍👍 We visited nearly all of the places to drive to and did many of the hikes. The Sunrise Trail was more difficult but one of our favorites. It had lots of people on it but lots of places to stop and take pictures but it has a lot of elevation change. The visitors center was very nice and the video sho...
