We come to Carbondale and always stay at this motel. The staff is always friendly and usually very happy. Our room smelled like stinky stale shoes. The humidity in the room was so bad our papers were damp. Our shower curtain rod had lose screws at the top so the curtain wanted to slide to the middle. So, showering was difficult trying to keep the curtain shut, and I fell, reaching to keep it closed. There are no rubber strips in the shower to keep u from slipping and falling. I landed outside the shower on the bathroom floor. We were 2 rooms from the back exit door and all night long, it slammed every time someone went in or out. Its very loud and easy to hear, even over the air conditioner. It wasn't an enjoyable stay. 😕

I stayed to attend my mothers graveside service. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large with walk-in shower which for my age and physical limits was nice for once. The facility that I saw was all neat and clean. The breakfast service was good and the gentleman doing it was right there keeping items filled. I did not see anyone having to wait for an empty item to be refilled. The front desk staff were GREAT. Friendly, helpful and always ready to handle requests. Jeff on evenings and Amy on days during my stay were wonderful. This is probably in over 10 years the best experience that I have had staying at a Choice hotels location. Made my reservation for next year to see the Eclipse, can't wait.

Rooms are clean and nice despite being a little worn. Breakfast was good. Check out their printer was down, so I wasn't able to get a printed receipt, and the emailed one never came through. I'll have to call on Monday. Otherwise, everything was great. Will definitely stay here again.

Overall a very clean hotel. Beds were comfortable. We had a very peaceful night's rest. Hot breakfast was great. Definitely will stay here again, next time we are in the area!

I have stayed here before and had a decent experience but my most recent stay was really disappointing. I booked the comfort inn because the location is convenient for work and they have a jetted tub (weird I know but I just moved into a farmhouse with a tiny tub and I miss a nice bath!) the front staff is nice but the room was a nightmare. The surfaces were visibly dirty. The walls had dirt, the bathroom had dust, stains, uncleaned surfaces such as the soap dish having old soap residue in it and hair, and the curtains looked like someone had been executed in front of them. The hair dryer was so weak that it would have taken 7 lifetimes to dry my head of hair so I opted out of washing it altogether, and the bathtub took literally ONE HOUR to fill. I am not exaggerating. So if you would like to take a bath I suggest you travel back to 1996 and get things started. Not to mention the tub is slicker than pig snot so be careful. The walls are super thin so I recommend not booking a room right next to the ice maker/maintenance area as I apparently did. I know this is a budget hotel so maybe my expectations are too high? I feel like cleanliness is a basic desire?

Two primary issues. #1 It's dated. #2 they are understaffed so service was very poor. Check-in was fine. Breakfast area was very hot, and food and beverage was not replenished. Pool area did not have enough chairs, and no fresh towels. Location is nice for SIU access. Room temperature control was faulty. Would alternate from much to hot to much to cold. Next time in area. We will try a different option. This is a poor example of Comfort In

We stay here all the time, 6 times in the last 1.5 years. If they are out of food, just ask and they will refill or make more, even if it is just before the end of breakfast. We have issues with rooms when they were being redone, but they are done with the update. The TVs are great. All the rooms have refridgerator and microwave. All the staff are really great and remember us, but Jeff is a the best. He always take great care of us. We will continue to stay here when we come back. It is our home in Carbondale.

The Hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. However, the room need a good cleaning and the showers definitely need some thing in the tub. They are slick as ice.
