I have been going to Hank's since I've 5 or 6 (almost 40 years now). It has changed hands a few times since them, but the current owner keeps it the same as it has always been. Just delicious hoagies and sandwiches always made with the freshest ingredients. Very reasonable prices. Old time sodas. My kids love going here also. Every milestone birthday and many family parties have a "tray of Hank's hoagies" at them. Great place! Great people! Great memories!!!

Hoagies are delicious and not over priced. The "special sauce" is my favorite! Even during busy lunch hours wait time is never long. Hanks is one of my favorite spots. Just remember - cash only!

I had an italian hoagie, it was good, made quickly. No frills, no gimmicks, simply good food at a good price. Not very busy at 11:30 AM. Call your order in ahead of time.

I've been going to Hanks since Kindergarten. I'm in my 60's. President Joe still grabs a hoagie when he comes to town.

One of the cutest local hoagie shops. Best tasting hoagies by far and reasonably priced.

You have to understand the nature of this establishment. Its been family run for quite a while. Im not from here, but I've lived a few blocks away, for about 7yrs. This awesome hoagie shop has been around for well over a decade. And, its super close to a nice college, in a great area of Dunmore/Scranton. They are "authentic" NEPA hoagie makers and "mom and pop" business. Im a HUGE fan of Jersey Mikes, but you get equivalent quality of hoagie here! You do get a smaller size, than say, a hoagie at Jersey Mikes, but you will be satisfied with the quantity and quality, especially for their price! Its a very small place. If I were to categorize it, I would say it's a deli/convenient "neighborhood" shop (with 90's Clinton nostalgia). Sure, you have to pay in cash, as well as wait a little if you show up, out of the blue....but if you are in the area and need a great hoagie, this is definitely the place to go. You will 100% be better off calling about 20min before expecting your hoagie and giving them a detailed order. I nearly always get a roast beef and chess hoagie, but their steak and cheese hoagies are awesome as well!

Nothing fancy or pretentious about this place. Just honest, comforting, and delicious sandwiches that will hit the spot and put you in a good mood.

4.8 Rating? When entering the place of business I really appreciated the rustic look and sense of history. I felt like a kid entering and older establishment and that was great as a visitor to Scranton Pa. I noticed when entering, the food smelled great but the employees gave us weird looks. We where contractors working 5 min away. If you are not a local please don't order in person, call ahead because I'm sure you will have a better experience. 4.8 rating I think not. I will never return.

I don't understand how the menu is so simple, yet so darn good. It's basically cold cut hoagies. That's it, and yet it's absolutely delicious. Pick up lunch here instead of those mediocre chain restaurants and fast food joints. You'll be supporting a local business, and I guarantee you'll be hooked.

I used to take care of someone who recommended this place, as her kids own it now. She was not kidding. The hoagies are so simple but great. When you walk in there you immediately get a taste of the past!! Love it! Keep it up hanks!

beware travelers... you are NOT in Philly. I almost gave this one star for the "steak" and cheese made with disgusting Steak-umm... and not even disguised, just flat on the hoagie. The bread was great, the owers are super nice and the price is good which is why I went up to three stars.

Prices are reasonable and a bit less than some others. Food is top notch. Seems to be a ma and pop type restaurant with quality food and service. Little local spot.

Below average hoagies. Not sure what the hype is all about. Purple Pickle Deli blows this place out the water
