When I tell you this place is gorgeous that’s an understatement. I almost didn’t want to write a review because it’s like my little secret spot. Lol whenever I post pics I never say the location.😂😂 I’m like nope not sharing this gem. It’s a beautiful place. We go here for picnics and sometimes to just walk around and get some air. It’s a nice spot for pictures as well. You’ll see lots of ppl taking pics for engagements, prom etc…. It also has a beautiful view of the Hudson. It’s very spacious and has lots of areas to enjoy. Not a lot of seating areas they do have i believe two areas with picnic tables. Parking is free when the lot isn’t full. The grounds are well kept and the staff are very helpful. Please be sure to make a small donation as it ensures e can all continue to enjoy this beautiful location. I can’t wait to get out and visit again. Summer is coming! My pics are from summer 2021

I had heard about this place a few years ago but didn't think about going until very recently. I am very happy I did. The gardens are beautiful with pathways that make it easy to enjoy them. There are some really incredible trees as you enter. We came on a weekend and it was not overly crowded. There are great views of the Hudson River from certain areas. The property has many levels so if you want, you can do a lot of walking while you're there. They have a parking lot that was close to full but there is also easy street parking.

The garden is beautiful! There were still so many lovely flowers out. The grounds were well-kept and you can tell they take such pride in making the space for the community to enjoy by keeping a clean, free to the public, with lots of area to roam around.

This is such a beautiful, peaceful park with hidden paths that lead to more beautiful areas. You can easily get lost here for a few hours and enjoy it, but be prepared to walk and climb a lot of steps. The pictures here are priceless.

Gorgeous garden! Big place and peaceful to wander about. Admission is free. John Lennon had visited the Temple of Love. The hand tiled pool is currently being renovated and one can already tell it’ll be a magnificent piece of art.

The best park/ garden at Yonkers. I have been there three times in one month. I loved the area. Parking was free, Best place for photo shoots for couples. The waterfall was awesome. Without taking any fees, the way they maintained the Garden is very much appreciable. Loved the place.

Untermeyer Gardens was truly beautiful. All of my photos are from the fall so the grounds weren’t what I would call at their peak but I am definitely going to go back in the spring when everything is in full bloom. Great views and very quiet. Perfect for a lovely walk with yourself or a small group of friends. Nice places to sit and just take it all in. Loved the water fall and stream features, they were just gorgeous. Also, the view of the river was stunning, you truly do NOT feel like your in New York let alone a short drive outside NYC. Enjoy!

This place is spectacular! All in bloom (we visited in June) and fantastic views of the Hudson, these gardens are a must stop if you are in the area. Great for any age as there are multiple paths to see the sites there. Lots of waterfalls to be found on the grounds and forest paths.

Beautiful Sunday well spent in the garden. Arrived early To avoid big crowds and it was worth it to view lake cuomo inspired vista stairs. The short nature paths from the lake to the temple of love provided much needed shade from the heat and blazing sun. There were plenty of other walk paths in the area so you can easily over 2 hours here if you decide to explore all these. The Persian Indian garden at the entrance was also breathtaking. Make sure you view from entrance looking in and then from the end back.

We visited assuming this would be an average conservancy. As soon as we walked through the gate, we were transported to the garden of my dreams. We were here for 3 hours admiring each unique alcove. There are plenty of places to sit for a picnic or read a book. We visited on a cloudy spring day (end of April) and were surprised by how many plants were in bloom- especially the kwanzan cherry tree that had pink petals falling like snow each time the wind blew. After the walled garden, we saw a sign for the Temple of Love. I thought, "why not visit? Sounds cool!". Again, what a treasure! The best part was the park is free. Donations are encouraged and I had both my kids slip money in the collection slot! They had such a fun time and my daughter is still talking about the cherry tree!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Untermeyer Garden in Yonkers, and it left me utterly enchanted. This hidden gem is a haven of natural beauty and tranquility. The meticulously maintained gardens, adorned with vibrant flowers and lush greenery, create a captivating atmosphere that transports you to a different world. Walking through the garden pathways, I felt a sense of serenity and awe at every turn. The stunning architecture, including the iconic Temple of Love, adds a touch of elegance to the surroundings. The views of the Hudson River and the Palisades only enhance the already breathtaking scenery. It's truly a photographer's paradise! Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a history buff, or simply seeking a peaceful escape, the Untermeyer Garden is an absolute must-visit. I highly recommend immersing yourself in this oasis of beauty and tranquility.

I love the beauty and the history of this conservatory. First and foremost it’s free which I love. Parking can be hard on busier days since they are limited spots. I would suggest you start at The Wall Garden. It’s based of the Garden of Eden it is the finest Persian garden in the western hemisphere. The Crossed canals symbolize the four elements earth, air, Fire and Water.

Beautiful place... The lighting show was very festive and beautiful ✨️. This day was the last day of the lighting show .We open year 2024 with visiting this place. Amazing decorations and the pool in front of the arc were renovated. Soooo beautiful. You can get hot chocolate at the park 😋 during this event. 10/10, and this place is on my favorite list 😀

I love this garden. I go here all the time. There are spooky stories about what used to go on here. By using this park, I was able to overcome my fear of spooky stuff. Now I'm not a little baby that cries when they hear about spooky things. This park is beautiful and no matter how many spooky things used to go on here, I will keep going. There are public restrooms available. They are part of the small building you see before you enter the main gates. There are so many paths you can take to explore the park. Only some of them lead to dark lovecraftian cosmic entities. Overall you can spend about 1 hour there and see a good chunk of the park, but you could also be in and out of the garden if you have a quick lunch break or don't feel like dealing with the boss that guards the stairs. Parking is available and free. There are no EV chargers here. Apparitions tend to be drawn to their source of power. Sometimes you may encounter a spider or two, or three, but don't expect anything spooky to be going on here.

This place was such a special find, free to visit and explore. I'm impressed it is run by volunteers and donations, certainly makes me want to join in on the fun (and definitely donate!) Beautiful park to explore, lots to see. I was not expecting the sunflower garden and that might've been my favorite part. The fountains and waterfalls are very spectacular as well. The statues are grand!!! We had a blast. We spent maybe 1.5 hours walking around. Can easily spend a bit more but we were hungry so left for lunch 😁 Not too crowded on a Saturday morning but it was drizzling as we left so maybe people were deterred by the rain. I'll definitely be back to visit in all the other seasons to see how it changes! Oh also, yes there are restrooms by the volunteers tent at the entrance and they're well maintained - 3 stalls I think and 2 sinks with soap and air dryer

Very pretty place for picture taking, especially for brides, couples. You in and out in an hour. I think if they charged a small fee they can add to this park and make it more enjoyable. The money could also be used to fix some of the grounds that need attention. Overall I enjoyed it.

Beautiful place. My husband and I came here during the summer. The gardens is a mixture of beautiful plants and constructions. The entrance is free and they have a lot of nice volunteers to explain the garden map and activities. The place has an easy access and you can get here by car (there's a parking lot and also spots on the street) but it's also pretty close to the train station, specially if you're coming from NYC, although the walk is a little steep. I really want to come back on winter and spring to see other seasonal plants and activities!

Oh man! I really enjoyed walking through this garden even though it is winter. The views are priceless. I can't wait to go back in the summer. It's a great place for the entire family or a romantic date with your special someone.

This place is amazing. The walled garden section is beautiful and has a great variety of rare and/or weird plants and trees. It's usually the busiest part of the park and is often full of engagement/wedding photo shoots. Especially on weekends. Make sure that you don't miss out on the rest of the park. The botany to be had along the hiking trails is amazing too - the area is fenced against deer so everything has a chance to flourish. Will definitely need to come back a few times to take everything in.

What a beautiful and fun place for a family adventure. Kid-friendly garden and best part is the views!! I recommend bringing enough bottle water and snacks since there's some walking but nothing crazy kids can't handle.

Beautiful place to walk around - even though it is from over a century ago - it seems like this place was made for digital pictures to be taken. The grounds were beautifully kept with fun surprises around every corner. The gatehouse garden is off the beaten path, but totally worth scoping out. Only con: Bathrooms were pretty smelly and could use a refresh.

Went here a few weeks back. Love the place and the views. Parking is a bit tight but got in just ok. Garden is meticulously taken care of. Great view of the Hudson river. Great place to walk around and possibly get engaged!!! There was a wedding going on and had to close early. Would definitely go back. And it's FREE! Restrooms are tidy, I don't think dogs are allowed. Lots of picnic areas.

A hidden gem in Yonkers. This park transports you to a time of the great gatzby. The gardens and river views are breath taking. From mosaic floors to a tall column gazebo you'll feel like royalty strolling through the wonders of the estate park. There's many wonders to explore. Enjoy the stroll.

This unbelievable historical treasure is a MUST GO TO SEE experience. The beauty can't be described except I felt like I was transported into the garden of Eden. It's so quiet and peaceful with views of the Hudson and foliage you won't see anywhere else. This equals in awesomeness of Kew Gardens in the UK. Wow!

It was absolutely beautiful and definitely worth the visit. If you get there early you not only find parking but also get to enjoy the views with no one around. It was such a peaceful experience and you will be surprised what you find while hiking along trails. I actually seen a vulture just hanging out and that was the 1st for me. Never seen one up close and personal. I think it was following me to see if i eventually keel over from dehydration. Lol Make sure to bring water because it gets pretty hot there. I will be going back soon. See you guys there.

This is one of the most beautiful parks in New York. Imagine a taste of Italy in Yonkers, NY. I visit here often during the summers. The place is breathtaking. Gorgeous, greenery, and steps to walk towards the hudson River. It's the type of place you know people dream of getting married at. Perfect for pictures, video, and family time. Everyone is always respectful. I can sit and take pictures for hours here. It's just stunning. This is a must-see place in New York. Go check it out and donate.

Wonderful gardens, we've visited multiple times and enjoy each visit (free to enter, donations encouraged). The main walled in garden, vista walk, and temple of love areas are great to stop and take photos. Parking can get a little tight but there is street parking available if needed.

These gardens were a beautiful experience! It was like I was in Italy or somewhere in Europe. The grounds very clean. It has a botanical garden, a nice hiking path that leads to a waterfall. There is a beautiful high view that you can enjoy. It’s like you’re on top of the world. I’d recommend anyone to visit this beautiful spot.

What a surprise to discover such a beautiful garden just outside of Manhattan. The garden is a reflection of the past era when the wealthy and powerful built castles and mansions along the Hudson River. The moorish style garden with a water feature displays uniquely selected plants that are healthy and very well manicured without being pretentious. I like to extend my congrats to horticulturists who made this jewel box of plants so special.

Definitely a gem in Yonkers, and a great place to hike and explore the views of the nice architecture and the Palisades. As one of my friends said, in response to a photo I took at this location, it was like I am in wonderland. I went to Untermeyer in the winter, and enjoyed a nice hot chocolate that was being served that the colorful lights that lined the architecture. Overall, a great location and I look forward to returning!

I recently visited Untermyer Gardens Conservancy and it was truly one of the most stunning gardens I have ever seen! The place is absolutely amazing, and I would go back again and again if I could. The views are simply breathtaking, and I loved taking pictures of the gorgeous flowers and landscapes. It's clear that a lot of effort and care has gone into maintaining this garden, and it definitely shows. The entire experience was wonderful, and I found myself completely immersed in the beauty of my surroundings. I highly recommend a visit to Untermyer Gardens Conservancy to anyone who loves nature and wants to experience some of the most stunning gardens in the area. It's a truly special place that will leave you feeling refreshed, inspired, and grateful for the beauty of our natural world.

Plants were mostly dead but came in start of aug when it was hot af for a few weeks now. But it’s free unless you wanna donate which I didn’t. Crazy view of the mountain and water from the stairs. Which was basically only raisin I came. Maybe when flowers bloom and in season will be super nice to visit. But for a free garden with nice views. Def a must to visit if in the area.

Stunning and well maintained public gardens! I really insist you DONATE to the upkeep of this wonderful conservation area. I went before 11AM and there was a lot of parking. After noon, not much parking and then you can park on Route 9 for free! No food or drink except for the picnic areas which are by the entrance of the gated gardens. It’s such a pleasant journey through the area, very romantic for a nice date or walk. There’s a lot of walking and stairs. So definitely be aware if you are disabled (call ahead for accommodations?) you can get through everything at a nice pace. I was there for about 1.5 hours and I saw everything at a good pace, and stop and enjoy the views. It does get a little crowded with people taking photos for their Instagram but you will get your turn too!! Here’s a sneak peak of what you can see there!

Once in autumn, there were many couples taking wedding photos. This week, it was very hot. My friends and I chose to have a picnic in this park. It was very pleasant to sit under a big tree and watch the boat passing by on the Hudson River in the breeze.
