My wife and I rented a couple of bicycles from ALTER-ride to go for a ride on the Canal Du Midi for a day -- they were helpful and friendly, and the bikes were very nice (good condition, speedy, reasonable prices). Good stuff, we would recommend.

Great place to hire a bike. We needed two for a trip along the canal du midi for a couple of days. The guys in the shop were very friendly and extremely helpful in sorting our requirements out. The bikes stood up to the demands of the different terrain along the side of the canal. I would happily recommend to use these guys for your rental hires

Tres bien, merci! We hired bikes for an afternoon, 4 adult bikes all in good condition with stand and pumps, puncture kits, and locks. Very friendly small business, ideally located in the town near the shops on the pedestrian zone. No need to use any roads as you can get straight onto the cycle path that runs next to the canal du midi around 5 minutes away. We took a steady ride to Trèbes around an hour away, stopped for drinks and snacks, back around 1730. The shop is new and modern and has some really nice cycling kit, glasses and t shirts. I’m sure they will do really well, you need to book in advance as they soon run out of bikes. Highly recommended.

We booked the day before and hired bikes for the afternoon and rode along the canal de midi from Carcassonne to Trebes and back. The bikes were really good and the guys in the shop very friendly. Their English was pretty good which was just as well as our French is pitiful. The cost was very reasonable and I would recommend them highly.

Benoit at Atler-ride was really helpful. At short notice he only had electric bikes left, so it's worth booking before the day of hire. Our French is terrible, but he spoke English well enough for us to get some good information about the routes available to us. The price was reasonable for our half day hire. If you've got more than a couple of days in Carcassonne, I'd recommend a bike trip!

This is a cracking bike hire shop in central Carcassonne that offers e-bikes and bicycles as well as some electric scooters. They also sell skateboards and related equipment. The owner is really friendly and gave us some great advice and local directions. Would recommend.

Nice guys running this place in a relaxed manner. I was pleased with my bike and that they added a pannier bag for me to help carry the repair kit. Reasonable price for day hire of bike with helmet in good order. And bonus, I learned a new word, ‘majordome’ du velo 😁

Based on reviews, this is the number one bike rental in Carcassonne and it didn't disappoint. The bikes were well serviced and exactly what we wanted for our Canal Midi bike to Trebbes and back. They only accept cash. I mentioned they should sell Canal Midi cycling jerseys but understand working on bikes all day, your hands are pretty grimy :) If anyone knows where you can buy one, would love to know!

We rented a couple of e-bikes from Alter-Ride yesterday and went to Lac de Cavayere in the morning and then along part of the Canal de Midi in the afternoon. The bikes were great and Benoit at the shop was super helpful and super friendly. Excellent service.

Hired e-biles for the day, really friendly service and bikes were well maintained and reasonable rate. Recommended.

The store looks nice. However it's not allowed to rent bicycles and then lock them overnight outside. Be aware of this if you are only visiting the city as you possibly don't have the option to store it inside.

Rented 2 bikes here for a day in Carcassonne - we didn't book but thankfully there were 2 bikes available. The guy we met with was great - good route advice and suggestions on where to go and what to do. Seamless process and very easy to deal with! Would highly recommend and in a central location.

Unfortunately I could not find any place in Carcassonne where they could repair my flat tire. But at this shop they were very helpful and with their equipment I was able to repair my tire. Merci millefois

Great service, the owner is very nice. We rented 2 bikes to cycle towards Lac de la cavayère and along the canal du midi. We rented 1 ebike and 1 normal bike. The prices were okay 👍
