Very lovely chilled place with a fantastic pool and terrific Villas. What a pity they charge Yoga - does not feel like a five star Hotel where Yoga is supposed to be complementary. Further they do not offer fresh fruit or icecream for free anywhere, would help to feel welcomed.

We came here for a 2 week family beach holiday based on a recommendation of a well travelled befriended family. We did not expect the Eden Roc, Murtoli or Finca Cortesin Level, at €10k per Week for a Full townhouse you would expect much more. This place will be handed down over the next years from SLH to Hyatt, Marriott and Best Western. This hotel requires proper hotel management and capex, otherwise it will remain a fallen angel.

The service in the restaurant was inattentive. We stayed for 3 nights and only after complaining at reception about our room did any of the waiting staff come to take an order without us having to look around and signal for attention. The cocktails weren't special. Our room had a broken bathroom door, a blocked coffee machine, a razor with hair on it in the amenities kit and you could hear the doors closing, toilet flushing, shower draining and conversation from the room above. We mention these issues and the door and coffee machine were fixed. There was also an apology. We felt a gesture of compensation would have been appropriate as this is supposed to be a 5 star hotel, but there was none. In addition be careful when you visit - the view from the pool when we were there in April was of a large muddy field. Plenty of closely passing cyclists added to the general vibe of this hotel not being very special.

A total dream! Pictures don’t begin to do it justice. We came intending to stay for 3 nights and ended up extending to stay a full week. There’s a huge garden with fruits and vegetables, an incredible spa with indoor/outdoor spa pool, sauna and steam as well as gym, and a separate yoga studio overlooking the rice fields. We came with our 3 kids which I was a bit nervous about because it didn’t really seem like a place designed for kids, but the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming or accommodating. Our kids loved picking vegetables, playing on the playground, swimming, and watching movies in the private movie theater. It was such a serene, peaceful spot and we hope to come again!

We arrived with high expectations and we were not disappointed. Let’s start with the key point everyone is talking about: food! Of course you do not have to dine at the restaurant (there are plenty of yummy alternative within 10’ drive) but from the reviews we read before our arrival it almost look like a terrible place. The food is nothing special but it is still ok. So do not stress too much about it cause all those reviews are a bit extreme. For the rest, a beautiful property, well kept, peaceful, and above all relaxing. The main complain I have is about the extra activity, the price tags on a staying at the property is not cheap and the fact that they charge hefty rates for the bikes, e-bikes, yoga and pilates classes was a major surprise. Aside for that we had a great time! Ah, do not forget the spa, we didn’t go for any treatment but the sauna, pool, gym are very nice!

Really disappointed with the quality of the food. My fish was recommended by the waiter and it was extremely overcooked and fishy smelly. My husband ordered the beef rare and it was medium to well. The only thing worthy was the sardines carpaccio. We were very unattended by the waiter. When we complained to the waiter he offered couple of truffles 😰 The place is beautiful though and perfect for sunset

Recommended by a friend to come here for lunch. Fairly disappointing which was a shame as it was our only lunch without children on our holiday. Great setting and decor but service was woeful - particularly when the place was empty. They forgot half of my main course, had to wait 20 mins for 2nd half. My wife had pasta, but she had to go to the kitchen (no waitress in sight) to get salt, pepper and Parmesan. They did apologise stating it was a new menu which led to confusion.

Exceptional service, great food, brilliant location. Our room was very big & comfortable, however, a couple of things needed some maintenance. This is a fantastic resort.

We spent a week here with our family and had a wonderful time overall. Starting with the positives, the property is beautifully situated among the rice fields of Carvalhal. The grounds are well maintained and the property is large enough and with plenty of amenities to feel like you don't need to leave during your stay. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful, with your comfort as their top priority. The included breakfast is well-organized and very tasty, with all the options you would want and expect. Overall, the resort is very child friendly with a nice playground, child seats for the bike rentals, beach toys, high chairs, nice cribs and even baby bathtubs upon request! We stayed in a villa, so we had a private pool, but there are two other pools open to everyone, a yoga studio, beach volleyball courts, spa and a fairly well equipped gym. There are plenty of activities nearby including horseback riding, kayaking, biking and trips to the beach. The resort is in the heart of Carvahal, which has several well-reviewed shops and restaurants. Comporta is a short drive away with more dining options. The biggest downside during our stay was the lunch/dinner menu at the restaurant. The food for the most part was tasty, but the prices are exorbitant for the quality and portion sizes of the menu items. The menu is not extensive, so some variety during the week would have been nice. The spa is nice, but the layout and management seems like a bit of an afterthought. We had brought our kids to swim at the pool several times, and on the third day we were rudely told that children are only welcome 08:00-10:00 and from 14:00-16:00 (first time this was ever mentioned, and we even arrived during one of the permitted windows). The gym is crammed in the attic of the building and anyone doing an intense workout is sure to interrupt a tranquil massage session. The villa itself was overall beautiful but we had a handful of maintenance/usability issues with ours. The offseason pricing is worth staying here for, but I wouldn't pay the high-season prices. Lastly, for the price you are paying the yoga should be included, and the bike rentals and e-bike rentals should be free beyond 2hrs/1hr respectively.

Hotel is beautifully decorated. Design of the rooms and the use of the space is perfect.
