Ziggy’s Surf House is an amazing place. I don’t even know where to start. How about at the top with the owner João? Every single day he puts his heart and soul into this establishment and bends over backwards for guests to make sure their expectations are being met. He understands service and communication. Every morning starts with João bringing in fresh breakfast foods, like tomatoes from his garden, freshly made bread and fruit from local shops. He also provides you with the surf/beach report for the day. João grew up here and he knows every place to lay in the sun, dine, surf, explore and discover around the area. Ziggy’s Surf House location is perfect, it’s literally a two minute walk from multiple beaches. There’s several restaurants within a 5 min walk, and even more if you’re willing to walk 10–15 mins! If you want to take the ferry to Lisbon, and explore this beautiful city, there’s a free bus that can be taken from the beach to the docks. From there it’s 1.75€ to get across. (Prices may vary at different seasons) Ferry runs from 7AM - 5AM (or close to that) it’s a fun, inexpensive, and extremely scenic little boat ride. Let’s talk about the name of this surf house..it comes from the one and only Mr. Ziggy! You’ll see his picture painted on the house along with all the other cool paintings and landscapes around the pool area which local artists have contributed. Ziggy is an English Bull Terrier and he’s the kindest, most playful dog. He loves to lay in the sun, play fetch, and watch you swim in the pool. Him and João are what makes this place special and unique. Lastly, the people I have met there during my experience were all incredible. People from all over the world! It’s so refreshing to be exposed to different cultures, languages and ways of life from intelligent and kind people who share the same mindset of exploring and creating new lasting friendships. I could talk for hours about my experience here but seriously...if you’ve read this far down, go ahead and book your spot here already before someone else takes it!!

No too far from the shore, it's a good place to stay, ziggy is friendly old dog who own this casa. Surf or Kyle are the propose, enjoy with friends devoid kid is not the propose. Joâo and his mother take care of you, enjoy the swimming pool and the garden. By the way I did my first try of surf I loved it, but I'm tired :-)

Ziggy's has such an amazing vibes. Perfect for work away while lounging by the pool. Joāo and his mom are very hospitable and made sure we had everything we needed. Coming back but next time with friends! P.S. Ziggy is an American bull terrier (pretty obvious). He may look intimidating but is as sweet as they come. The kids thought so as well 🐶

Cool place, cool people, cool vibes… Highly recommended ! We met tons of lovely people there and had such a pleasant time.

Very nice setting, very clean, fresh towels and linen provided upon arrival, cleaned every day, very safe (gated) short walk to everything and the people who own and run the hostel are so chilled and friendly and helpful. When you take in the price as well this place is excellent!

We had an amazing time at mr ziggys Surf House! Super clean, nice breakfast and the best tips from the host João. You can reach the beach (with amazing surfspots), restaurants, and a supermarket within 2-5 minutes by foot which was convenient. I highly recommend this special place!

Very relaxed hostel. Lots of space in the rooms & toilets. Nice big garden to kick a ball around or chill and swim in the pool. There was free breakfast every morning including tasty granola & soya milk. Overall the host João & the hostel dog Mr. Ziggy were very accommodative and friendly. Did I mention outside cinema night?!

We really enjoyed our stay at this surf hostel! The owner is very nice .. during our stay he provided a BBQ for all guests and fulfilled almost every wishes!

Me and my friends had the best time at Mr. Ziggy's Surf house. It's close to the beach, always clean and what is better than a jump in the pool and then standing underneath the hot rain shower after a good surf session? The host Joao is very nice and helps with everything you need and knows the local surf rentals and schools. And even though I'm not much of a dog person Ziggy was very sweet! I really enjoyed my stay and would come back any time.

What a place to have that laid back hostel experience, filled with like minded people from all over the world. Close to everything making it a no brainer for a great stay!

Our stay at the guest house was amazing! Joao, the host, is very friendly and was always there when we needed him. Got nice breakfast with coffee every morning from him and had some interesting conversations. And he always had some good recommendations for the local area to check out. The spot itself is very close to the beach where you can have great surf (5 min by foot). Everything was clean and tidy. And the price for all that was more than fair. Can recommend it without limitations and will come back for sure!

Small Oasis in the middle of Caparica!!! Best place to enjoy some nice surfer-vibes and meet nice people in Caparica. Also Joao, one of the best hostelowners i met, is doing everything for you to feel comfortable. Everything was perfect like the clean bathroom, kitchen and rooms. U need to visit, go for some surf and jump into the pool! I will come back as soon as possible:)

Amazing place! Lots of space in the outside area and inside the hostel itself. I stay in the 6 bed room dorm and there was plenty of room for everyones stuff. The atmosphere is very relaxed, there's an awesome breakfast every morning and the location is great since it's only a couple of minutes walk to the beach. You can also rent surfboards and surf lessons there. Would stay here again.
