The food here is absolutely delicious, well cooked and presented. The deserts on offer are different, quirky and out of this world.

Had my daughter baby shower in the function room on 5th March and had to write my review, first I would like to thank the very friendly staff that could not do enough for us. The function room was set out just as we wanted. The food was just outstanding and very plentiful, so on that note a big thank you to your chef or chefs. I would highly recommended this venue 5*

The food was OK, supposed to be a Christmas menu (advertised on their website, but no sign of that on the day). I had the turkey, not sure how they got Brussels sprouts cooked but still as hard as bullets. Sticky Toffee pudding not available, so disappointing as that was what I was really looking forward to. Cheese board was better than many I have had.

Mark was our waiter today. He was attentive. Informed us how long our food would take and was prompt with drinks and service. Lovely meal and a very fair price. I will return soon

Accessible and in a great location with ample parking. Nicely decorated inside, staff are always polite and helpful and there is a good range of food and drink. Able to televise sporting events and there is always a nice, friendly atmosphere. Long may that continue πŸ‘Œ

This was a local of mine many years ago. I remember the lounge having an impressive, plush decor. Not now, everything is painted grey and looks tired. The bar definitely needs freshning up, but I guess those were different times.

3 of us visited for Sunday lunch. We were all very impressed with the selection and quality of the food. Our waiter, Mark was very helpful and attentive. Overall well worth another visit soon.

Been there twice and both times the food I ordered did not match the description on the menu. Both times the service did not mention that eg. they don't have salmon so will give me cod or that they don't have any veggies so the 'burger' will be a bun with meat and bacon only. Also their aperol spritz tasted like slightly flavoured water.

Such a disappointing experience. We came a while back and the Sunday lunch was outstanding.!! Clearly a different chef now. It was awful from start to finish. Table was not laid properly to start with., 1 fork on a table of 4. Starters where Hurrendous, the combination of the ingredients just did not combine well together. The food was cold, the Yorkshire puds where black!! we sent them back! The food was tasteless, a Spoonful of Cabbage, 1 carrot, 3 Roasties, and a burnt Yorkshire, ohh and let's not forget the genorous dripping of gravy. There was no colour to plate at all, the veg was so overcooked and soggy that the colour had actually gone.! The roast potatoes where vile, Iceland frozen ones would of been better. So overpriced for what you get, the quality of the food for the price is a joke to bo honest. The toilets looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months, spider webbs in every corner accompanied by several spiders. Handryer not working and no supply of paper towels to dry hands either. The place felt grubby and dirty. This place seems to have dramatically gone down hill since our last visit. Absolutely awful food!!!! Avoid at all costs!!

We had a roast on NYE, absolutely delicious. Everything was super tasty and piping hot. Lovely friendly staff, our waiter (Mark) explained about the refurb happening in January. Looking forward to visiting again once it reopens.

Harry and his team did a fantastic job at hosting a hockey dinner for parents and players - 43 in total. Not an easy number to cater for but all the food came out together and was very tasty. Definitely recommend! Huge thank you for making the night a success!

Staff very good. I had squid to start too much space. For main had brisket it tasted like game the only good part were the parsnips. My wife had chicken supreme not too bad . Sweet choice poor .

Went for Sunday lunch with family. I've visited here many times over the years. Great selection of drinks at the bar and food is pretty good, although found the fish and chips a little greasy which detracted from the taste of the fish a bit. Overall reasonable value for money and would return.

Usually quietish at mid-week lunchtimes. Menu options are good but the preparation and presentation is great with variations on pub classics and some different ideas. Always been well-cooked and hot. Staff are always helpful and friendly!

Had a lovely meal here great service from bar staff to our table, not much on the menu I liked but my Sirloin steak was very nice but a little expensive.

Great location for a pub. We visited on a Tuesday afternoon. Food was nice. Pub seems run down and could do with an update. And there was only 1 non alcoholic drink available which I think is poor

We had the t bone steak. Quite good but not perfect. Friendly, efficient welcome. Nice barman. Vinegar, mustard etc. should be on the table before the food arrives. NY the time our French Mystard arrived, our steak had gone cold. Would visit again.

Saturday lunch with friends, so a different experience to the usual couple/family meal. Disappointed! A grubby feel to the place. Food was OK but my minute steak was more fat that steak. Bumped the score up from 2 to 3 as the desserts were good. I wouldn't return as the place was grubby and lacked any sort of atmosphere...

Great roast dinner served here. Beef brisket was delicious. Great service as well. Glad to be back.

Their Sunday roast was delicious. A think cut of meat with perfectly steamed vegetables. Decor is bit too grey for my liking, but that is secondary to the outstanding Sunday lunch.

Lunch at The Discovery was very good. COVID safety was good, staff were pleasant and helpful, service was very good and the food was excellent. A really enjoyable first meal out in a long time.

6 of us went on a Sunday lunchtime and enjoyed the experience. Above average quality food with pub classics (not Sundays) and specials such as pan fried Sea bass with haddock & cockle chowder. BOGOF on some (not all) dishes Monday & Tuesday nights. Sunday lunch was very good. Busy on Sunday lunchtimes so book! Service was efficient even though they were busy. Large interior with pub style bar and separate lounge/eating area. Nicely decorated and a pleasant place to be. Good, beer wine and gin selection, some cocktails.

Great service. Nice food. It was a little quiet, but in these times that was nice.
