It's an epic Sunday lunch here, roast beef and vegetarian nut roast were delicious!! This was followed by amazing desserts!

Great place! Friendly and kind staff. Great food quality. We felt very comfortable eating inside. There are some tables outside too. We had the chorizo scotch egg(with roasted garlic alioli), fish and chips and focaccia BLT. Not expensive at all. Highly recommendable!

Great food, quite fancy and varied. Still a nice homely feel to this gastropub. Service is very good, manager is great and very enthusiastic and always seems to be at work (and probably deserves a holiday!).

Went there for our second time today. This really is a really great place. We've gone for the ham hock both times and it is to die for, couldn't recommend it more. We managed to fit in desert after the server told us what was especial good and it was a perfect end to lunch. Parking can be a little difficult but we've managed to find some spaces down the road by the wine shop both times. It shouldn't be too much of a problem. Just keep an eye out for parking permit spaces and make sure you're not in one.

Even with the Wales game on TV in the bar the restaurant area was lovely. Pleasant staff were there when you wanted them without bothering you every few minutes. Fish cookery excellent, wine list good and not, by today's priced unreasonable.

Had a good quality lunch with great service. The only reason I didn't give more for atmosphere was that we were the only people there!

Really delicious Christmas dinner every element was beautifully cooked, with very good gravy and generous serving of vegetables which were extremely tasty. I had cheesecake for dessert which was also delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Love the Conway and will be back soon!

Decent service and normally really good gastro pub food. If you want a table at the weekend you will certainly need to book. Bar area can feel a bit "locals only" but do not be put off. Range of beers seems somewhat limited versus before lockdown.

This Aussie loved it. The exchange rate at the moment is crippling for visitors from Australia to the UK but The Conway was a delight.

Went to the Sunday evening quiz . Really enjoyed . Just thought the price of the drinks were steep ...

Simply AMAZING! Finally a gastro-pub that doesn't serve the standardised food you'll find in 99% of the other pubs around. The menu, seasonal and genuinely intriguing, gives you a great number of options which will make you want to order everything. Food is fresh, tasty and presented with care and thought. Lovely atmosphere, welcoming staff and a great selection of drinks too. Being Italian I am always ready to critique food but this time I only opened my mouth to eat and enjoy the food. If you are looking for a great meal in a relaxed place look no further and go to The Conway.

We had a really lovely evening. The atmosphere and the service were great and the food was delicious with some different choices on the menu. We will definitely be going again when we're next in Cardiff.

Amazing food and service. We visited on the 5th of April 2022 and the staff working that evening was absolutely lovely. The place itself is very homey and charming. Now, the food. It's your typical pub food, only 10 times better + with ACTUAL veggie and vegan options (not just a sad basic Beyond meat burger). I had the gnocchis which were fresh and obviously homemade. My partner had chicken which was delicious too. The desserts (stick toffee pudding for him, banana bread for me) were amazing as well. We will be back for sure! 100% recommend. It's so nice to have great pub food.

Food OK. Placed on a table on our own in the bar, which was next to the front door. This meant we had a cigarette infused breeze blowing at us. Despite having empty tables in the restaurant, the manager literally couldn't be bothered to move us.... Poor.

Nicely refurbished traditional pub in a leafy suburb. Prices are steep - which is reflective of the local area - but the beer is good. Service was excellent - extremely friendly - and they fitted us in for drinks on two busy nights even though we hadn't booked. Didn't eat, but other customers seemed very happy. Would definitely return when in the area.

This used to be a regular local pub but now it's a dead fancy gastropub. Not sure what the food is like but the fish and chips looked nice.

Had a wonderful three course Sunday lunch at The Conway. Great service and the staff were so polite and welcoming. Away from the hussle and bustle of the city, the pub is ideallic and feels like a home from home. The menu has a range of dishes to serve everyone's dietary requirements. Would very much recommend to anyone!

Food much better than usual pub grub. All items on lunch menu £9. Decent selection of ales and wines

Really lovey food. One downside was the lack of alcohol-free options. Only Becks Blue when there are plenty of nicer options these days.

Called on the day to specifically ask if lamb was on the menu *today*. Was told it was. So happily booked a table. On arrival was sat at the end-most table (of an empty restaurant), shown the menu which did not have any lamb dish, informed the waitress that I specifically called earlier for lamb. Waitress said quite openly "sorry there is no lamb." So she was not informed by whoever took my call. I was then expected to choose anything else from the menu. We walked out, went to a local pub and ordered a nice Shepherds Pie. Ps there is no parking for at least 3 roads away. Residents parking only.

Great Sunday night quiz. Saying has to be the hardest (and most rewarding) in Cardiff Quiz starts at 8.00. don't be late Ok selection of beers and a fantastic range of food. One of the best in Pontcanna. Check socials for Monday deals.

Good food and atmosphere, a little pricy. I the dish I wanted wasn't in stock which was mildly disappointing.

Had a very nice meal, great staff and a choice of real ales along with all the usual lagers etc. We were able to take our two small dogs in as well.

👍👍 Great Jamaican food, we had a great time! I highly recommend the bottomless brunch, our waitress, Lucy, was very attentive and we had a great chat about nights out in Cardiff! The bar staff's cocktails were beautiful, too!
