Self service with the waitress calling us up to the servery when it was our turn. Table service for coffee and anything else needed, definitely worth a visit while we still can. Ordered food via Ubereats as I've done previously with no problem. However, on this occasion my food arrived swimming in grease and quite frankly was inedible. I sent a very polite email trying to make the restaurant aware of this, didn't ask for a refund or any discount etc... the response I got was nothing short of uninterested and rude. The food went straight in the bin. Had a suitable apology been made I wouldn't have left this review. Waste of money and so rude, I won't give names but I'm sure you know who you are. Lesson learned for me.

All you can eat buffet on Sunday morning. Worked out at Β£7 each with bottomless coffee upgrade. Good selection of items, including all the breakfast staples. Particularly enjoyed the bkack pudding. The server did tell us off for taking mushrooms, which apparently we should have paid extra for! I did offer to put mine back, but she let us off with it.

Good, standard pub, with usual pub grub. We had a really great value 3-course Christmas lunch for Β£14.99. The food was OK, but at Β£5 a course, you can't really go wrong. Some of the 1st courses were a little disappointing. I had a really nice pizza and most of my friends enjoyed their carveries, the burgers didn't go down too well. The desserts were fabulous though..really yummy, really large portions, the children especially liked the bottomless Ice cream! The staff did so well to accommodate us as we were a party of 20, at a weekend. They were so friendly and smiley, even when rushed off their feet. We kept the kids in the corner and brought our own arts and crafts to keep them busy, but it's probably not the most family friendly place to visit..children get bored without play areas! We walked there from my friend's house so I can't comment on parking. If you want a cheap place to eat and meet your friends (pretty important these days in a cost of living crisis), with lovely staff, and OK food, this is definitely the place to be.

A Christmas carvery here is the highlight of my year. I've been meeting my friend here for an annual carvery, drinking session and catch up for about 15 years now, and we hope the Hollybush will still be there for our festive fun when we're 80. Super lovely staff, really delicious carvery and great atmosphere. Thankyou for always being so welcoming, the Hollybush is a big part of my Christmas and no matter where I've lived in the world I've always come back to it. 10/10, would recommend dressing up like a festive idiot and popping in for a carvery and a few drinks, always my favourite day of the year and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.

Food was lovely, I had the bacon cheeseburger it was huge, Poppin chicken pizza again tasted good and big. Staff were friendly. We received complimentary tub ice-cream as the ice-cream machine was broken. Very good service. Monday certain meals were 2 for one so price was amazing Table was wonky though.

My family & I were staying recently at the hotel nearby for a wedding and we visited here for dinner. We received a warm friendly greeting by Helena. Nothing was too much trouble and she helped with our fussy children who apparently don't like the beans near the chips! by ensuring they came separately which they did! The food was well presented and we were surprised at the size of the burgers! Great choice of food and lovely to see a place where all the staff seem to have a great rapport.

Went today for lunch. Carvery was delicious and excellent value for money. Staff person greeting was great. However the serving staff at the bar there was no interaction. Server at the carvery was fine but others behind the carvery counter were not interactive at all. Feel there needs to be a more pleasant interaction between some staff and customers. Nobody looked happy. Staff training in customer service recommended. First time I think I’ve not left a tip anywhere.

Me and my partner were very disappointed with the whole experience tonight. We went yesterday night and both the service and food was excellent; however, tonight completely contradicted this. We are staying in the village hotel for our anniversary and as a gift we have been using a gift card for our meals. We had breakfast this morning and dinner this evening and both times the food quality and service of staff was appalling. This evening it took 50 minutes for our starters to arrive and when our mains arrived, the pasta was hard as though it was the left overs from a pan. It did not taste good at all so we had to spend further money on additional food. The breakfast this morning was also not to a good standard as yesterday’s meal. The bacon was really hard and dry, the french toast was over cooked and the beans and tomatoes were freezing cold. This experience completely ruined our anniversary celebration.

Lovely Sunday dinner. Something for everyone as there's a fresh pizza oven and ice cream machine that the kids will no doubt love!! It has some game machines to keep people entertained while waiting for food. Not much of a wait my I add! All welcome! Very relaxed atmosphere

I can't recommend this pub and restaurant highly enough - the food (and drinks) are all very reasonably priced - the entire team here work so hard and are just so kind and helpful, a special mention to Griff the chef who is wonderful! If you are staying in Cardiff, it really is worth paying a visit ❀️ xx

The food as usual was lovely, the service at the till was a little unreliable, the first time up I was served with a enthusiasm and knowledge. The second time was appalling, the young girl seemed to be looking for a place to hide to not serve me, she had seen me but still stood around by the glass washer. I was aware the Manager did see her and asked her to serve in the bar. Other than that we all had a good day. Thank You.

Took the family here, 2 teenage boys and their Dan for a Saturday lunchtime meal. The menu is vast and if you don't fancy the cavery, you can choose from a decent selection of good traditional pub grub. From scampi, pizza, pies, burgers and vegan/veggie - dishes for everyone. We went with starters; prawns and chicken wings. Both very nice and served promptly and piping hot. 3 of us had the carvery and my youngest opted for pepperoni pizza. We all enjoyed our food and had no criticism about it. It was what we expected; good old pub food. Very reasonably priced so it won't break the bank. For a family of four (incl 2 teen boys) starters, main and a drink each came to Β£60. Could easily be less if only opting for main and drink. Good atmosphere too, happy staff and chilled environment suitable for a couple or family.

Lovely place to go for food, the carvery is really nice and does a really good range of other food if your not fancying. Staff are lovely. The kids love the self serve ice cream. Do a couple of different items for the vegetarian roast so you don't have to have just veggies and potatoes. Reasonable prices and always happy to give you a take away tub if you can't finish your dinner and want to take it with you.

Always have good food here. Customer service is really good! And staff are friendly. Always feel welcome. My partner and I had a burger, my daughter Gammon egg and chips. Eggs cooked exactly as requested. See you for breakfast in the morning!

Pizza was decent but the carvery is awful although I guess you get what you pay for. No other meat than turkey, no roasties, watery veg including sweetcorn (?!) And congealed gravy- not for me unfortunately but as stated, pizza was nice.

This is one of my go to places. The staff are always really helpful and friendly. The food is great value...I especially love the fresh cooked pizza's and the burgers are huge! The staff over the Christmas and new year worked extremely hard and I hope they are rewarded!

We are frequent visitors and have never had anything but an excellent meal. The staff is so friendly and the chef really knows his stuff. The meat is tender and succulent and the veg cooked to perfection. By far the best carvery!

We visited for a family meal to celebrate a birthday. Excellent service from Mike and the team. All very friendly, welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. There is a good variety of food on the menu and at a reasonable price. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We will visit again.

The manager even managed to find a small group of us a table for Sunday carvery with no reservation. Great hosts, staff and a great selection on the carvery, very clean, can-do staff. Top marks.well definitely be back (with a reservation next time)

Ordered a delivery as I'd had one several weeks before and it was amazing. However this time the 'carvery' I ordered had very little meat, only a few small slithers of turkey. Disappointed as the whole point of the meal is the carved meat!

Burst a tyre so β€˜popped’ in for a coffee and a bowl of chips whilst waiting for the wife. Staff were great, banter from the offset from the barmaid Savannah but really helpful / accommodating. Can’t fault the place. Coffee and chips were tidy as well πŸ˜ƒ

Golf trip to Wales. We found a terrific pub which offered great food at an affordable price. The service was excellent and a young lady named Ellen was an outstanding waitress. Thank you for making our evening meal a pleasant one..πŸ‘πŸ»

Really great carvery. The staff are always warm and welcoming. My mother's diet had recently become very restricted so the chef offered to cook some fresh vegetables that she could eat and he brought out practically a mountain of it.

Service was good.meal was ok..except for roast potatoes they were completely burnt. And small amounts of meat. Its been a long time since I've been to this establishment and it will be a very long time before I visit again.

Obsessed with the carvery!!! Been quite a few times now and always delicious and friendly staff. A young lad was very good with my son who felt he was helping tidy up by handing the man 1 item every time he passed us. He took it every time and smiled at my son making his day. Thank you, only sorry we didn't ask your name so I could specifically name you in this thank you.
