I had visited here in late August this year & had a very very good time doing a karaoke 🎤 😀 I just happened to be walking in the area ,actually on my way to another pub .I heard people singing ,so popped in !! People were having very good times there ,too !! People bought me tea & coffee ( I don't drink coffee ,but a very nice lady did it for me ,so I drank it & it was delicious !! Lol. I usually get a bad headache from coffee ,but didn't !! ) !! So,I didn't have to buy any drink on my own ! The d.j.guy was very funny & made me laugh ! He kinda gave me a marriage proposal ! Haha ! So sweet !! I'd love to go back there someday ,again !! It looked like they had steady regulars there !! Lots of nice people / regulars !! Welsh treatments spoiled me !!🙏🏼 I am so glad I don't really drink alcohol !! LOLLOLLOL Imagine if I did !!? 😅I got free drinks & even a free bus ride !! A very very nice lady Jane from St.Woolos area in Newport !! ( I struggled to get my change from my new wallet )I have to give her a shout out ! Thank you Jane so much !! And so ~ many many strangers in Wales gave me directions & actually guided me to the destinations even though they were out of their ways ,totally opposite even !!! I saw them turning around / going backwards !!! I don't believe nobody but Welsh people do that !!? I LOVE WALES !!! ❤️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿💜💖

Really nice atmosphere, staff very friendly. Obviously very much a regulars place, but I was made very welcome. Definitely go again when I'm in Cardiff.

Thank you for a wonderful night in these hard times. Your waitress were a delight and very efficient. As for you door men they were very polite and even though it was limited seating they keeper us smiling till we could be seat. Thank you once again we will certainly be coming back.

It was ok here, the staff weren't very welcoming or attentive. It was a bit dark and dinghy inside. It had the feel of being a local pub for local people.

This is a cracking "old style" proper pub in the centre of Cardiff. By old style, I don't mean grubby. It's got good beer, a pool ( not many left in pubs these days) at screen tvs showing different sport and some fruit machine things which don't really interest me. On the night we went in there was a cracking DJ playing 70/80's rock from 6pm. Age range was probably 30-80's? Not the sort of place that would attract teenagers thankfully. Great place to spend an hour or 2.

Had a great night at this classic pub right in the middle of Cardiff. Great atmosphere, DJ playing good music, lots of reggae. Plenty of attentive bar staff providing top service even while the place was very busy. Will be returning

Great place for a Saturday night out and you want a good old fashioned knees up. Friendly staff made you feel very welcome. Good old singalong to familiar tunes. Recommended

Mad karaoke bar in the centre of the city, great atmosphere. Quick service. Good prices, but drink bottle beer. Wasn't impressed with the pint of draught Heineken.

Great pub, however the staff need some customer service training on how to deal with members of the public. Young staff need some training on courtesy and basic manners

a good night on a saturday night very busy usually for over 50's but some younger people do pop in beer is getting a bit expensive now though depending on what your looking for music also

The quintessential old school Public House. Spacious and with a long bar , the staff provide good knowledge of drinks to assist you with your choice. A great mix of characters who add to the gaiety of the place. Plenty of TV screens to view a variety of sport and hard news. Nice open area at the front to smoke if that’s your choice. The historic pictures on the walls are extremely interesting. Recommended.

Excellent service from Zuzana! The entire bar is composed of experts and kind people. Good atmosphere and economical too.

Incredible Saturday evening here, music dancing and of course the staff who served us quickly even though it was busy.

Just tried to get in to the Borough 16/12/23 refused access for being under 25 and I’ve never had this issue before the bouncers are no good, they think they can make their own rules will never be in here again.

Attended a night sat 4th Nov. Really busy paid with card reviewed my transaction the morning after only to find 12.70 for my round rather than the 6.40 for 2 pints that I had all night. Because it was late and busy they've charged way over the odds. I'm soooo fuming😡

Spit and sawdust type city centre pub but ok, and although the prices were very cheap still a good pint.

Great old pub, good selection of beers on offer and bar staff that know how to pull a good pint. The toilets are down stairs so not disabled friendly. I'll be visiting here again definitely

Whilst at the pub this evening a big huge man mad comments a few times Whilst my son and myslef were enjoying the pub. When approached by the so called manager Rob.....bearing in mind I have owned and ran a very busy brains pub in Cardiff he informed me that he did not need to give me any details. The incident that occurred won't be discussed on here but when I asked the door man his details he removed his arm sleeve and told me I was being filmed to which I Agreed and asked him as to why he had removed his details. The man in question being of foreign origin.. talk..dark hair and skin and spoken in accent. All of the incident and details will be forwarded onward to catdiff City Council and also to the owner ot the Borough. Appualing

Typical old style pub. Good place on rugby international days. Brains SA if the pick of the good selection of beers. Very reasonable prices.

Lovely little pub, called in for one but stayed all afternoon with a couple of girl pals. Would definitely recommend a visit.

As an X Royal Welch Fusilier, it's the only pub for me. Great service and people just enjoying themselves. What more do you want. 👍

The Borough is one of my favourite bars in Cardiff. It's very welcoming and the regulars are very friendly people. The drink is great value and the staff have always been brilliant in my experience.
