Great atmosphere, decent pub food and a great range of pints!! Staff is amazing and makes great recommendations!! The place to be.!

First time visiting The Old Market Tavern but would definitely come back. Had lunch & a few drink, food was stunning & staff very friendly. Would definitely recommend

The food is good. They, unfortunately, were out of a few things, but what they did have was very tasty. It is one of the few places in Cardiff center that has a meal salad.

My food was absolutely awful. Which surprised me as I always use to use this little pub on my lunch break, it was always lovely. Had a tasteless burrito with salad and a crunchy coleslaw, with no Mayo mix.. Awful

We were told to move away from the fire exit because it was a fire hazard then barman proceeded to put a table right next to it. It's an ok place if you don't want to speak to anyone. The music they had on was so loud no one could hear each other. Drinks were good, most of the staff were friendly.

Came to the Trinity Street venue to try the mega Irish breakfast and just wow. Everything is cooked perfectly and it is more than enough to keep you going for the day. The price is another amazing point. For £7.95, at the time of this review, it is extremely cheap given other options available in the city. I will happily come again for either breakfast or dinner!

Now I’m not usually someone who tries a new place, but I took a chance and it couldn't have gone any better! The food was absolutely amazing, staff were friendly, quick service and great music! Will definitely be returning.

Good food and nice staff, have enjoyed the wraps, pizzas and curries here and all reasonably priced. Seem to have a lot of events on, I only visit for lunch but may have to try the comedy night one evening.

Went here for a bite to eat after the cinema, struggled with service considering the place was quiet but once we were served the staff were so friendly and helpful. The Mrs had a pizza and she's not the easiest pleased but she was well impressed, I had the tapas and I can say it was excellent and surprisingly filling, great selection of drinks too, will deffo eat and drink here again

Stopped off on the of chance and the food tasted great ham and cheese panini. Great atmosphere in tbe pub too. Definitely will be stopping here again when in Cardiff for somemore street photography.

What you would expect, staff great, food good and served in a good time frame even when busy. Great for a night out as much as for lunch. Pic notorious p.i.g burger, stake & Guinness pie.

I absolutely love coming to this place . The staff are always friendly and attentive. The food is fantastic and really reasonable in price. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Cardiff for the day or anyone local. Way better than Wetherspoons on value for money and a definite thumbs up. 10 out of 10

Wow! Drinks only. Nicely decorated pub but I don't think I've known such hostility in a bar. Hardly anyone in there, we waiting 10 minutes before either of the staff asked us if we'd like anything, with a bit of a grunt. At 10.25 we were told that it was time for last orders (there's the door!).

I love the lunch and drink offer. Plenty of variety. Generous portions. My family had the 7oz# Gammon steak, fish & chips and the jerk chicken flatbread. The cucumber and mint dressing was gorgeous and the sweet chipotle chili jam was tasty. We did have to buy a second drink each because of the wait but that was fine. There is always tiny fruit flies but that's the only bad thing. I also didn't like that it was busy but that's not O'Neill's fault and it was the lunch rush and a bank holiday.

Amazing service from all members of staff. Such a great atmosphere and music really fit the vibe. Will definitely be returning for more food very soon as it was banging.

Really nice place on the main area of Cardiff, would recommend this to anyone that visits the area. The service was really good too and helped us out. Neil and Deian were really helpful and friendly.

Great place! Came here to watch NFL and they kindly gave us our own corner and turned the channel to the game for us. The quality of the food exceeded expectations and the staff were amazing. We’ll be back!

Was made some delicious cocktails by a strange but friendly bartender from Cardiff. The toilets also sell oyster based sex supplies if that's what you're into

Tried to book a table well in advance. It took the establishment over a week to reject my booking noting they were now fully booked, even after I had called them several times in the week to establish whether or not they could accommodate our booking. Terrible customer service from what I had thought was a reputable pub.

A very good place is the Old Market Tavern on Cardiff city-centre's Trinity St. Not the cheapest prices in town, but still it's a darned good pub.

Visited on Friday to meet with friends over some good quality food which we all enjoyed with two for one on cocktails perfect. Definitely will be returning in the near future :)

Good food. Beer was decent too.

The local is quiete unique, yet been disappointed by 2 things . 1st had quiete a lot of they're menu list not available. 2nd ordered a Margherita and specified even on menu that is with classic mozzarella, but found out was with cheddar . ( Huge mess for a pizza that require just 2 ingredients.) Leave apart this the local is quiete an experience, and theyre foods are probably even more tasty when they have ingredients at hand.

Visited with family for lunch. Food was lovely, very reasonable and a great choice of meals for all taste. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Grant served us and made out visit very enjoyable. Definitely recommend this pub!

Cask ale consisted of one choice of the reverent James, served warm. The table was sticky and nobody bothered to clear up the debris from the previous guest. Large sports screens dominate the room. I will avoid.

Great food, had the Tapas selection and was amazing. Good selection of beer and gin. Friendly staff and welcoming place.

It was a nice find, never been this particular pub in Cardiff before but will be returning. The pub has a nice atmosphere and not too big, friendly bar staff and cold beer accompanied by a nice pizza to set me up for the day what more could I ask for!

Our 10% voucher was expired yet still accepted, the food order was wrong and we were refunded back the difference. Also gave us a round of drinks on the house to make up for it. Food was delicious. The customer service here was excellent. Lovely young lady with glasses on the bar served us. Could not be nicer and more accommodating staff.

Booked the function room here for a Christmas party with 30 attending. The booking consisted of a private function room which we were paying for and food booking which was booked 8 weeks in advance. We received an email today cancelling our room booking because they didn’t want to lose out on money because of the football. Also only giving us guaranteed seats if ordering food. Absolutely shocking from o Neil’s to cancel a planned booking 5 days before the booking. No offer of any sort of compensation or a proper apology.

Lovely experience this afternoon. Food and drinks were lovely. That staff took the time to talk to us. Nice service and care
