The location, parking space and the seating place inside the pub is excellent. However, the cleaniess levels are a lot to be desired. I've been there 6 times, and it was always with my work colleagues. In every occasion the tables we were given were sticky. Although, the table was cleared of any food crumbs or liquids etc, the table obviously was not cleaned properly. I'd have excused it if the pub was full and busy etc, but majority of the tables were unoccupied, on all 6 visits it was between 2pm to 4pm noon on Fridays, yet they couldn't clean the stickness on the tables. I might still go there with my office colleagues, on a Friday afternoon, as it's very close to where I work. But I would never take my family to this place. It's a shame that they don't clean the tables properly as this pub is a really nice place to go out with your loved ones/family.

Brewers Fayres can be abit hit n miss. But this one for our evening meal and breakfast the following morning was excellent. Staff and food on both occasions could not be faulted. We could not have been better looked after had we been in the Savoy Grill. Many thanks to the young manager and her team.5/5

Order 3 different meals before we found 1 they actually had. Salad had chunks of raw carrots not shredded as on menu and tomatoes had black bits on the skins. Felt sorry for Faye, the manageress, having to keep refunding and saying sorry for no support from the Company

We have just returned home after staying for 2 nights at the Premier Inn Cardiff City South. Ocean Park Brewers Fayre is adjacent to the hotel so we bought meal deals for both days which included 2 breakfasts and 2 evening meals. We have stayed in many premier inn hotels and the breakfasts are always something we look forward to. From the moment we entered the Brewers Fayre restaurant we were disappointed, we waited 5 minutes before a member of staff took our booking reference. We sat down to eat at 6pm and the tables were sticky, everything about the restaurant was unclean, leftover food from previous customers under the tables and when a staff member cleared a nearby table she gave it a rub with a cloth in two small areas around the paper napkins leaving a lot to be desired in the cleanliness rankings. Ordering food was another delightful experience. No fish available, no naan bread left to go with tikka masala, a bit of the yellow part of an iceburg lettuce that was turning brown was a garnish for fish pie (which was quite nice) and the scampi was deep fried to an extremely dark breadcrumb colour. The sticky toffee pudding and custard was nice though. Breakfast, ok but not the best premier inn breakfast I've ever had, there's never any cups and you may find yourself replenishing stocks of teabags if you ask for some! The coffee machine was broken so there would be no cappucino's or latte's available just teabags or instant coffee sachets. We had to boil a tiny kettle whenever we wanted a hot drink as the hot water urn had been switched off, we don't know why, we did ask. There were only 2 cups and 2 tea pots, one of which had a teabag label inside obviously not washed. No milk jugs so we had to fill a mug with milk to take to the table. Drinks! Don't bother asking for a mocktail, there were no ingredients for the three on the menu. Beer pumps were 'iffy' according to the staff, they had been having problems with them, so stick with the bottled lager or cider but don't ask for a straw, they don't have any, not even a paper one. Most staff were uninterested, lazy and didn't want you to sit at tables in certain areas, I assume this is so there was less floorspace to vacuum. Terrible place, don't bother going anywhere near it. Save your money for somewhere that has standards, stock and is cleaned properly. We definitely won't be returning.

I give this place a 5 star for one reason and one reason only - Lenesha Browne. Her service was exceptional. She helped my daughter and I immesnsly during our stay and we chose to eat most of our meals there as oppossed to going out for food due to her service and feeling helped, valued and appreciated. She was really kind- helping us with our orders, really patient- bringing our food for us as I had a lot of luggage, and just made us feel so comfortable and welcome each time we came for a meal. The staff there were nice too and food pleasant but but Lenesha really was exeptional in her customer services. Thanks so much for making our stay even better. Would highly recommend the place too. Very good breakfast.

I was informed by reception staff at the Premier Inn that breakfast was served until 11am. Me and my family booked breakfast for 10.30 with them. When we turned up the chef ignored us and started removing the dishes from the buffet. He could have waited 5 minutes for us to fill our plates. He was however adamant that he did not have the time and was not going to wait for us. Unprofessional, poor customer service, rude chef and staff at this place. Disgusted. Would not recommend. Premier Inn customers, head to Dinos Cafe on Cowbridge Rd around 10 minutes away and have a better breakfast for the same price.

Went for carvery on Mother's Day. Meat was lovely with generous portions, as we're the large Yorkshire puds. Vegetables were very undercooked though. Ladies toilets were out of order when we were there as well, so I had to use the disabled toilet. Staff were friendly, the bar had a limited range of draft beers though.

Honestly might be the worst food I've ever eaten - both my meal and my partner's meal were cold, bland, and waaaay overpriced. However, staff were great, and everything was clean.

Ate breakfast here one Sunday morning as we were staying at the neighbouring premier inn. Service is good, staff are friendly and attentive. The breakfast was just not very good. Cheap sausages, overdone fried eggs, hard hashbrowns. Just all a bit ropey.

Staff are always helpful and polite. Usually visit early afternoon maybe oncea month. Food is classic pub grub, nothing special but reasonable prices and cooked nicely. Chefs and FOH are always really helpful with my excessive and weird food sensitivities/allergies. It outshines any Spoons/Greene King/Marstons/Brains venues in the vicinity.

Went there as a starter before going to town. Staff were very welcoming and good fun especially as we were all dressed up for a stag do. Very accommodating and beers tasted great. Food was good. Great value. Thanks team!

Good atmosphere with friends service was ok but staff didn't know who to answer questions such as is it Gluten free. And food was ok when it came out but nothing to write home about

Food took over half an hour was wasn't really busy and wasn't very hot..I have been a few time over the last few month and the cleanest of the restaurant is not very good needs improvement...I did say to a member of staff about the sauce on the wooden ceiling on route to the toilets and 4 months later still there and glass doors on first arriving need a clean other an the cleanest need improvement staff very friendly...hope to return and things are corrected 😊

Nothing wrong with the food, drinks and service. I just can't understand why they have the camera system, for entry and exit it you forget to get your vehicle registered. You'll end up in court paying, hundreds of pounds in car park fines. These parking systems don't work, only cause misery. They will be the downfall for all of these trading venues.

Food was ok. Wouldn't return though. We ordered garlic bread at £4.19 for 2 tiny slices. We could have made a baguette of it for half that. Place looks in desperate need of a refurb too.

Went for Sunday roast here at 5pm and they had ran out of carvery so couldn't have that, then a few other things we suggested they also didn't have. I settled on a winner winner chicken dinner that was charcoaled chicken with microwaved soggy roast potatoes, they didnt have the veg so had left over veg from the carvery, the potatoes gratin just tasted like raw garlic and there wasnt much veg left to choose from. The kids had sausage and mash that was rock hard microwave mash and cheap Sausages. Made us pay an extra £1 each for the kids desserts which we thought we had paid for the meal deal so ended up paying extra on top that we didnt need to. They serve better food in Cardiff Prison. I would give a 0 star out of 5 if I could

On leaving Cardiff that morning for Swansea we thought we would give Brewers Fayre a go. Nicely situated just out of Cardiff and easy to get to we went for a breakfast. Quite a busy little place but as it is adjacent to a Premier Inn that is the reason mainly . As what seems to be the normal now, you have to input your vehicle reg into the console upon entry. We paid £17.99 for an unlimited breakfast & a continental breakfast. Along with the cooked breakfast, you had choices of cereal, toast and yoghurt. The bacon was nice but the eggs were swimming in liquid and trying to actually get one one your plate was like a Fisherman trying to land a catch.... It just kept sliding off the slice utensil everytime. Only the bacon & beans were edible so didn't really entice me to benefit from the unlimited part. The 2 bowls of Kellogs cereal had to surfice. Also there was only plain Greek yoghurt, no other flavours so I suppose the bowl of fruit provided next to them was the 'flavoured' bit option. Nice atmosphere in the dining area and the staff friendly but the food isn't quite as it should be. Can't comment on other food options later in the day so hopefully better

Travelling back home via a visit to Cardiff decided to stop for a breakfast. The server Stacey was friendly helpfull and chatty asking several times if everything was OK. The food breakfast experience was as expected we have used several locations. Plenty of choice of food and drink. Ty for the parking tip.

Quiet when we visited. Went with a friend and a few of our children for a catch up and exchange gifts. Food was tasty and fairly priced. 😋

Lovely! Staff were all soooo nice! 3 of us had a carvery - there was plenty available and everything was lovely! They were fully booked - but it was still nice and quiet- no music blasting- will definitely go back!

Left waiting at the bar for a long time before service. Service was good but smiles were fake. Staff were tired and overworked, and it seems there are no staff available after 2pm today so they're closing early for the day. Terrible news for the business. I hope you get better, but I won't be back to find out.

We have a dog so sat ourselves on one of the 2 picnic tables outside. I would like to say how helpful and accommodating the manager was but unfortunately we had to find elsewhere to eat because he told my husband they can't serve food outside as he had insufficient staff to serve 2 outside tables, even though he was told we had a dog and therefore could not eat inside. Incidentally, the restaurant was practically empty. He blocked my husband trying to reach a menu and officiously asked if he could help!!!!! We have eaten many times at Brewers Fayre pubs before and since being a dog owner and have always found staff and management extremely helpful. Not this time!! We have been members of the bonus club since it started. I saw another family leave (before my husband came out) also saying they would have to find somewhere else to eat.

Food is decent and alright priced. Staff could be more on the ball. Tables aren't cleared and cleaned very well before other customers sit down. Tom Croust is amazing and his customer service is out of this world! I am shocked he isn't higher up in the company because the current managers are shocking compared to him. Overall a good place to take family and friends and the beer is good.

It was a lovely place to eat. I went with my large family (10+) and they managed to accommodate a table for us so we could all sit together. I'd recommend booking in advance first so you can get a guaranteed table as it can be quite busy. The food was good value for money and quickly served. The carvery had a large selection and although not as great as homemade, was still lovely. Would visit again!

Such a lovely pub! So traditional and with lovely waiters and waitresses! And very good prices too!

  • 2/5 George L. 2 years ago on Google
The staff were ok and the food was edible but the place was filthy to be honest. Where we were seated there was food splatters all over the seats and walls and just looked generally scruffy. I went to the mens and there was pee all over the floor, my wife and daughter found worse in the women's, someone had had a very bad stomach in there and had not been cleaned, unpleasant to say the least.

  • 2/5 Andy P. 2 years ago on Google
Not really family friendly as there was some hard core drinkers efin and blinding while I was there. Food unfortunately was mediocre (not as good as other Brewers Fayre I have been too). Service was sparodic and some of the meal was missing. When asked they said they had run out of the item... would have been nice to know before ordering.

Great service great staff and absolutely 💯 better restaurant than all the other premier inn we go too . We went for a 29th birthday and staff was extremely lovely gave my step daughter in law a lovely pudding and was extremely grateful. Thankyou so much to the girls who severed us

Pretty standard brewers fayre. Staff very friendly and new smothered platter was very nice. Toilets let them down and were dirty, flooded and smell was terrible.

  • 3/5 Lauren D. 1 year ago on Google
This place really used to thrive. The food there is not nice anymore. Steaks are always cooked not to your expectation - if you ask for rare they'll give it well cooked and it tastes like rubber. Some of the staff's are lovely yet some moody and uptight. The gambling machines and childrens toy machine is the only thing that's good. The use of pool table also! Considering it's next to a hotel, I'm very surprised by the lack of publicity and professionalism with it's staff and food. The Sunday carvery's are disgusting. Never any mint sauce there and Gravy is like warm water. The drinks (especially alcohol) is expensive. I was told to apply for the company as i could get a job. I applied and had an interview yet i rang to change due to having covid and they never got back. Told me to speak to one of the managers which i did, never heard back. Communication is poor. Overall, enjoy the machines, cold fresh drinks and some staff.

  • 3/5 Amanda C. 1 year ago on Google
Breakfast was buffet style here, the flooring around the tea/coffee area was sticky as was our table. The food was plentiful but poorly cooked, mushrooms were almost raw, sausages barely cooked, and eggs as hard as nails. Staff were friendly

  • 4/5 Antony J. 1 year ago on Google
Stayed at premier inn adjacent to brewers, good breakfast. Popped over in the evening for a couple of drinks but there's so much they just didn't have. OK so the staff are fantastic, best I've ever encountered, this helps but please sort your stocks out and this is a true 5* establishment.

We have attended here a few times now and the staff here are always happy to help and are very punctual. In particular Helena stands out as she is quick to great you at the door and makes you feel at ease the whole time you are there. She is an asset to the company. Thanks Helena and the rest of the team.
