Please be careful if you're visiting this bar. The bouncers are extremely depraved, especially the short chunky one called Maz, he's had numerous complaints made about him however the management continue to allow this predator to be around vulnerable drunk people. Maz has made numerous inappropriate advances towards women and will regularly burst into the women's toilet pretending to do checks, but will then hover around in the toilets to try approach women. If you don't know him personally (thank god) he will rarely grant entry unless you're a lone female. If you're in couples or groups he will either try to split some of you up or will allow you access and then remove members of your party to try and get the males away from the women. I've caught him making inappropriate advances towards the bar staff, which explains why they always have new people working, but the manager will not condemn his actions because he has been a bouncer at this venue a while. Some of the other bouncers also like to make derogatory remarks and make you feel uncomfortable but not on the same level as Maz. The venue itself has decently priced drinks but its not worth putting your safety at risk. They also make the entry fee up as they go, sometimes its £10, sometimes £20 if they don't want you coming in to try and throw you off. If you're female and alone you can get free entry unless you're sober. Go to a more regulated/respected establishment.

I came to the Lounge last week with friends, had a great time . Had a couple of drinks . Great atmosphere and music. Top notch service from Beverly who attended to us. Would definitely be coming back!

Prices on the menu are completely different to what you'll be charged. Ordered off the happy hour menu. Turned up with drinks and tells me since Covid we don't do that any more... RIP off. Beware.

I visited here on the weekend and I've got to say I've never felt more uncomfortable in my life. I arrived with a group of friends (2 other women and 2 men). At first the security guard on the door (Matt or Mazz is his name) tried letting us women in but tried charging the men £20 each even though he just charged us £10. After a bit of back and forth he reluctantly let the men in with us. However about 10 mins later he kept brushing past us as we stood at the bar, we found it very odd. One of the women in our group went to use the bathroom (which was disgusting and tiny) and this Mazz/Matt security guard caught her on the way back down and kept making advances towards her during their conversation. She said she wasnt interested and sat with us back at the table to tell us what had happened, we all decided then and there to leave and not return. Please be careful if you're visiting here as a woman as this security guard (if you can call him that) is very creepy and unsettling. He's about 5ft 5" (6" at a push), has panda eyes (dark circles), a bit chubby, has scruffy stubble and wears a beanie sometimes. You'll know him as soon as you see him he gives off a weird vibe before he even speaks. please be vigilante.

Very overrated. The only person that smiles and shows any sign of a decent customer service is the one that takes your money at the front. All the staff were rude and apparently did not like us because we asked for shisha and they "did not have enough staff to be doing it tonight" or "did not have enough shisha" but if there was a bigger group that asked for it they would bring them it... The place is very small, crammed and dirty. The coctails were good but did not meet their price and we were almost left feeling guilty for ordering them by the staff who took the order.... I never usually leave low recommendations... I don't know why my expectations were so high but they were deffinately not met!

Horrible experience! Barely sat down and were being rushed to order, our server had a bad attitude and bar staff bad mouthing friends in earshot. Left before ordering anything. Would recommend giving this place a miss.

Poorly made cocktails, some staff were less than friendly and unorganised, I was charged over double the price for a round of drinks, on what I can assume was that the staff believed we were drunk enough to believe it!

Went here yesterday… spoke to Steven the events manager who organised a nice booth for me… the place has a nice feel and the bar staff and waitresses are very attentive and go around checking if you want a drink and it’s all table service…. Shame the manager on late evening doesn’t have stevens customer service skill or communication quality’s… but hey ho. Good night had by all… Thank you Steve for organising for me… If your looking for a good night out with a good atmosphere, you can’t go wrong with this place…

Ordered food, but the order was not then "approved" on the app. I asked the lady about it, and was told "it's not my problem as another business does the food". She did get it rectified, and we waited another 15/20mins (an hour since we ordered on the app). I then asked her if we could cancel and was basically told that she already told me the problem was elsewhere, so I went next door to where the food was being prepared, and was greeted so professionally and politely and we then had the food within minutes. We also heard how she spoke to other members of staff which was quite abrupt. Frankly, I will never visit again!!

Ordered 2 items worth 17£ total and then the staff bought the card machine with 20.35£ amt and i paid it. And I waited for the receipt but never got one. I asked another lady staff to get me the receipt she didnt come back again and was ignoring the table. Basically i got charged more than the actual and didn’t receive any receipt upon asking.

as a person in their mid 20's i felt welcomed, me & my mrs went here for a cocktail or two, great music, awesome cocktails & they have a hashish too for anyone who would be interested in that, would recommend with a strong 4/5 stars.

Pricey. But Worth it. All The Staff are 12 out of 10. Absolutely Brilliant. Polite and Friendly. Definitely coming Back. Never Disappoints. Great Cocktails.

Horrible service. Shisha doesn’t even work. Do not come here!! The staff are really rude and the shisha didn’t even work so we didn’t get our moneys worth. Just got a shisha and they charged us a service charge for it. They over charged us the prices weren’t the same as stated, we got charged £6 more. The manager also come over to us and personally called us ‘stupid bitch’ because we was complaining that our shisha didn’t work. Don’t come here, I recommend going somewhere else if you’re looking for a Shisha - the service was awful they were horrible to us for no reason. Do not come here !

We was lied to!! We walked past and the man at the entrance said come in guys its two for one one cocktails. We went in and ordered and only one of each cocktail came, when we asked about the 2 4 1 the waiter said that's only on a Sunday and this was a Saturday. We then had to pay double what we wanted.

Just want to say how lovely this bar is and how great the staff are especially Stephan🤩… really friendly enthusiastic and humble. He will go far and this place is now our top favourite to visit when in Cardiff 👍

We came here for a few drinks before heading out elsewhere. One particular staff member was incredibly rude, appeared to be making up drinks prices and, when questioned about this, would speak to us like we were children. When we reviewed the receipts it appeared he had been adding tips onto the prices for himself. Really disappointing experience and would not recommend.

The security guard was very rude. He literally took the shisha off our table and told us to wait for our friend outsid3 (who was in the washroom) and it was 1:15am and I went there for the first time, they didnt give us any warning or notice to leave the place at 1. The shisha was still on. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANGONE WISHING TO SPEND A GOOD TIME WITH THEIR FRIENDS

Mocka Lounge has been my favourite cocktail bar for years. Best cocktails in town, amazing atmosphere and fantastic service, special Adelina will make your stay 5*.

The atmosphere here was great. My friends and I wanted to hangout just somewhere cool and we ended up here. The music was nice and the cocktails were delicious! Shout out to Beverly who took care of us and advised on which drinks to go for.

Stefan has amazing service, looked after us all night and worked hard on his own to make sure everyone was happy. I would recommend Stefan to anyone and feel he deserves to continue to progress within his role! GREAT service and a great night 😀

Been here twice now and both times were a lovely experience. It is a little bit on the small side but it's clean and comfortable. The drinks are delicious and overall a nice place to start for the night 🍸

It's a shame in-door seating is still not available and we had to sit outside for table service. Considering it was a really wet and cold night it wasn't too bad as we managed to get a seat in one of the booths which has electric outdoor heating panels on top which you can switch on and off. Food is only served until 9pm which was not convenient for us as we arrived around 10pm and therefore could only order drinks alongside a complimentary bowl of nachos. However, our time spend at Mocka ended up being really pleasant, as the atmosphere and vibe was quite chilled and the music in the background was of good taste. A random find which happened to a hit with no planning or booking beforehand.

Went to Mocka to celebrate a Birthday. It was quite busy considering Covid awareness. The queue wasn't too bad and we were told it was table service only which we had to use the app for. I ordered drinks which was a bit lengthy to be honest and had to wait for sometime for my drink to arrive. When it did it was wrong, so I complained to the waitress who took it back. Another waiter turned up with the same drink and told me this is what I ordered. I told him it wasn't but he just dismissed me and said he couldn't change it and it was my fault. I asked him to change it and mentioned his poor customer service but he failed to recognize what good service was and just disappeared. The drinks are not cheap and the service was terrible. Would I go there again....I think not!

It's a bar with good looking birds on a Saturday night. Like many others. Might get better once covid restrictions have gone

The drinks were great, service was brilliant until we were told we had to leave because the manager was annoyed we'd used too many 2 for 1 vouchers - which their staff gave us! We'd asked earlier if we could book a table and we were told no, it's done on a first come first serve basis. We'd paid for every round, weren't rude but were told we had to leave, firstly because our table was booked (despite being told that they don't take bookings) and secondly because the bouncer said the manager was annoyed we'd used too many 2 4 1 vouchers - again, their staff gave them to us on the day and said we could use as many as we wanted. In the end, it was terrible service, what a shame.

Don't bother! Slow service (was not particularly busy either), poor customer service, and generally overpriced. Speaking as a door supervisor myself, a gentleman on a nearby table was ejected by two door staff from the venue rather aggressively considering he posed no threat (he could have easily been reasoned with yet they responded physically).

Went here New years day 🤗 very friendly staff doorman outside was a good laugh too very attentative to make sure your not left without drinks even gave us snacks 😀 all in all had a great evening here so will definitely be returning thanks 😀

Stumbled across this place towards the end of the night! And glad we did!. What a lovely place with a lovely little vibe, we sat outside under the heaters having cocktails!. Our waitress Alexandra was abseloutly amazing and made sure we were never without drinks and continously checked in on us! Made our stay!. 5* service!. Highly recommend a little visit here!.

What a gorgeous gem along Mill Lane !! Sat out on sofas in the sun, cocktails were just beautiful, staff were great !! Had a great time thank you team !!

This place used to be my favourite venue! unfortunately the prices on the drinks are extortionate! I paid £23 pounds for two double vodkas. Come on Mocka Lounge your ripping people off!

Bouncers absolutely shocking - so unbelievably rude. Would not recommend at all - so many better places in Cardiff.

Visited the bar with friends as part of my visit to South Wales. Wasn't very comfortable that 'service charges are added onto drinks prices, without being informed. If I want to leave a tip I would like to do this voluntarily.

Really lovely atmosphere and nice music in here. Mature people and the door staff really respectful. On a street with a few venues, this is a must for me

From arriving to ensuring I had table service and a safe exit from the venue, the bouncer Maz was absolutely brilliant! He helped get my group and I seated very quickly and ensured we were well taken care of. Definitely an experienced individual in being a door staff with excellent people and communication skills! Can't commend Maziar anymore and thank him for making my experience so positive!
