The best one, as usual. Great food, fair prices and enormous beer brands. Regrading food, hamburger and potatoes are served with absolutely no salt and pepper. Thus, you can make it/prepare/adapt by your own after served with catchup, pepper, etc. Everywhere I go, this is the place I look for having lunch, and dinner.

This was a great pub to go for a drink at, with a vibrant design contributed by the likes of the stairs and bar! The Welsh flag is a top addition, the staff were friendly and menus are available at tables. I sat comfortably for a refreshing drink of Black Grape Vodka, although it had not been mixed properly as I could taste vodka too strong at the bottom.

A very nice place with very reasonable prices and great variety of food and drinks. Food taste was average, we ordered a steak and a burger. The cocktails were very tasty. Overall a pleasant experience. They, however, don't play premier league games on tv.

Great location, close to the Principality Stadium and plenty of room for large groups to meet. Food is well priced and good quality and service is quick. Even at busy times.

It's a 'Spoons', had a crafty pint before going to the stadium. Cheep and cheerful, was rammed! Mr Sheeran could've had something to do with that. I liked the local details that this franchise puts into their pubs.

When I walked in I had a member of staff for me to scan a website to sit at a table. I was shown to use the app to order food. I ordered a Steak medium rare and baked potato with a Morgan Spiced Rum with Coke. The steak was cooked perfection and the potato was delicious. This not my first time. I know I will be back again soon. The staff were friendly and polite. I RECOMMEND The Gatekeeper to anyone to a chilled out atmosphere like this pub

A decent Wetherspoon this one! Great staff, friendly and efficient service. Usual ‘spoons fare, great food and drink at great prices. The pub is always clean and tidy. Prefer this one over the more central Cardiff spoons, which are much busier. Lots of seating areas set over three levels and two large bars, one on the ground floor and another on the second floor. Huge range on beers and ales on draught. Great range. Recommended

It's OK. It's a Weatherspoons ... what do you expect? I never plan to go to a Weatherspoons, it just happens as a matter of convenience. Food there was alittle flavourless and rather salty. I assume this is because cheap quality ingredients needs more salt so it doesn't taste cheap ... The only thing that really impressed me was the garlic bread pizza. I think I could just eat this over and over ...

It was a total pleasure to join the Welsh guards veterans on there remembrance to the Galahad event they made me welcome and part of the family friends for life respect to the veterans they don't get enough credit and they are a jolly bunch of young lads in a grown man's body thank you for your service each and everyone and the fallen we toasted you boys to

Great Wetherspoons pub with 2 outdoor areas, which are handy if you want to sit outdoors. Love using the app to order drinks and food. I didn't eat on this occasion, but those with me said it was hot and tasty. Good atmosphere with reasonable prices.

Service was great. In my personal opinion though I thought the place was dirty. The toilets were unclean and the staff didn't clear our table of the meal before us. Even when we started to eat the meal from before us wasn't cleared away. The price on the app was cheaper than the price on the menu on the tables. We ordered via the app but it ended up costing the same as what was on the menu. In my opinion the app prices and the menu prices on the hard copy of the prices needs sorting. It was quite an expensive spoons as well but I am assuming this is because of where its situated. Hope this helps.

Went in for a quick meal before a gig. Good prices and the food was OK. We burst out laughing when our meals were shoved in front of us and we were told to 'enjoy'. I don't think the waiter would have cared whether we enjoyed it or choked on it. 🤣🤣🤣

A good wetherspoons, food is decent, large choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic drink. The staff are really friendly and the pub has a nice atmosphere. Ground level access and it has a lift in the building. Lots of seating.

“We were all of us cogs in a great machine which sometimes rolled forward, nobody knew where, sometimes backwards, nobody knew why.” - Ernst Toller Cheap booze, inexpensive value for food and the comfort of having different classes of customers surround you but mainly just one type. You have to give a huge shout out for their understaffed workers here, it gets busy but they are definitely keeping the place running.

What a nightmare put order for food in. paid food turns up some dishes missing asked about it and the manger stated that we had not paid for undelivered food but we ordered all the food hi is response was you pay you have which I thought was rude then he brought the food over 15 minutes late with a piece of cheese slice in a dish then cheesy chips which we did not order so I paid the price and so angry with his att I put the dish back on the counter plus change. He the returned the money to which I donated to the poppy appeal after he gave us a round of drinks on the house so the manger done a good turn but all an all never go there again

My Granddaughter and I had breakfast here. The service was good after ordering from the in-house app and the waitress explained the system used for the tea's and coffees that were refillable. I had the Eggs Benedict they were fine except for one problem..... the meal was barely warm! Other than this it was ok.

The bar staff were very busy with customers and changing barrels. They worked really hard but their customer service and attitude stayed at a very high level. I would like them to be informed that it was noticed.

Strange forbThr Gatekeeper to be quiet but still the foid and drink served quickly and with a smile. A few football fans in recovering from last night but great yo have some banter with them.

Drinks took 25 minutes in a near empty pub even though we could clearly see them sat on the bar, food even longer all meals stone cold. Visited on many occasions before and never experienced such poor service!

Ok coffee and the rhubarb can of pop was great the mixed grill wasn't that good they shouldn't stack the meat on top of each other on the plate, but for the price you can't complain.. super service clean can understand why it's a inner city meet up pub.

Great Pub ,as you would expect , they always look great inside 🙂

Nice pub. Disappointed with the meal. The fish had a lot of crispy batter with little tasteless fish inside. The chips were dry and overcooked. The Manager said she would have a word with chef because it could be poor quality fish. Definitely not worth the price increase and definitely won’t be going back again.

11/7/22 - Wetherspoons is always good for a few drinks when out in Cardiff 😉 Bought a chicken, cheese & bacon panni with chips. Had to pulled the bacon out - not cooked enough for me. All ok otherwise. Would of liked to of had more hand sanitiser available...empty by the door or just not dispensing and didn't notice any near the loos? Staff were busy behind the bar and all were lovely and attentive.

I understand that you were busy over the few days that ed Sheeran was in town but for goodness sake at least microwave your meals to a decent temperature, the food we had was like it had just come out of the fridge, absolutely disgusting. This was only in the afternoon as well not even during busy times, would never visit again

Spoilt for choice with Wetherspoons in Cardiff, but this is my favourite. Plenty of space in here, downstairs and upstairs, plenty of tables to sit and eat a meal. Some of the guest ales are superb, and very cheap! Some cool bars on the street to move onto too. Only niggle, is if you're downstairs, the only loos are a trek upstairs, a pain if you've a bladder the size of an orange!

We visited the gatehouse today for a breakfast and yes both looked really nice. I had a traditional which to be honest was only warm in fact the plate was warmer than the food. The other meal was eggs benedict which was tepid, both eggs were hard the yolks should run out and coat everything but didn't, the only thing that was hot was the sausages. The other issue was the tables were incredibly sticky the menu was stuck and even our phones, they were cleared but definitely not clean.

Was a gum in my drink, just sat down and noticed. Bar didn’t care said wasn’t gum in when they made it and just let it go to waste. I’m not going to drink a drink with some randomers gum in and was treated poorly after the fact. I do not recommend you go here as they clearly do not wash their pitchers correctly and are very rude. What a waste of money

I enjoyed my experience at Weatherspoon. It's what I expected. Puts other restaurants away with their curry Thursday meals. Tops I'll come back for dinner and also the next time I'm here in Cardiff. Way to go guys. Top notch👌😊😎👍

There were 6 of us, I ordered the steak and jacket pot, came to us and the jacket pot was freezing ! I told the girl and she took it back, about 15 after my food arrived again my jacket pot was ok but they had re cooked my steak and it was like a piece of rubber, I wouldn't even feed this to a dog.. absolutely awful
