Where do I start! Firstly booked 2 tables with 6 premium spirits around 2 months back in the attic. Tables where booked from 10:00-04:00. Was told at entrance that the attic doesn’t open until 11:00 (this was a lie) they basically overbooked and were under staffed. I was fobbed off for about 1.5 hours saying they were just getting our table ready. When we finally were allowed in the attic I found out that our table had already been given out. Took another hour to get the free.. finally 2.5 hours later we were seated to 1 table as they didn’t have another one. When waiting for the bottles I ordered i was told that they didn’t have 7 bottles of goose or Ciroc vodka (mind I had already paid for these) the outcome was one bottle of Ciroc, some gin and white rum? Oh and a bottle of wine put into a Vodka bottle. The alcohol bottles that were provided were half empty. When I question the staff I was told they are running low on alcohol. Oh and the two people we were meant to have for bottle service didn’t even get. To top the night off, the angry customers who had been removed from our area we booked (cause they double booked) one threw herself over our table to hit the drinks off and the other spewed over the drinks. So if you are looking to spend £700 on booking a night out I suggest you avoid Soda. Thanks for the ruined night!!

Booked a table for 10 o'clock but it was up stairs and they wouldn't allow us to go to our table till it got busy. Paying £100 for a table to think you would be able to go to it when you want to. Waited untill around 10:45 until one member of the group got frustrated and ended up being ask to leave. We got our money back but if you book a table for a time you expect to be able to go to your table and not be told you can't go to it until it gets busy as we are not opening the up stairs until it's busy. You wouldn't be happy if you went to a restaurant and they told you you can't have any food yet because they ain't putting the ovens on until its busy. But I did try the strawberry cobbler and it was fantastic

I happened to have track suit bottoms on and I got refused entry which was embarrassing in front of my friends, I wasn’t acting in a way that was intimidating, I was smiling, taking my hat off for then to look at my ID and that’s not enough. I must have been intimidating despite this. This place judges you by your looks so as far as I know, you can be horrible to the staff and customers but as long as you look good you are ok. Don’t want me in? Fine, you lost yourself a customer.

Terrible staff. Even worse bouncers. If I could give zero stars I would. After paying 4 pound entry each not even allowed to call a taxi which takes 10 seconds without the bouncer saying we are not allowed to even stand outside the club. Even in the pouring rain to make sure we get home safe. The rudest up themselves humans I have ever met. Completely ruined the night. One round of drinks for four people costs 40 pounds in plastic cups! Dont even bother going. Never had such a bad night out. If you want terrible customer service... go here.

Manager was completely out of order and refused to provide his name (if he even was the manager) was pushing and provoking a reaction from someone who was drunk And then left it to security to use unreasonable force to control a situation which was caused by him! I would strongly recommend staying away from there because the manager wants your money then refuse entry after hes taken your money

Like a bar! Not my cup a tea! Good for “thirsty “people ! Good to be with friends or family just to drink something and go. Good music 🎶 and friendly staff. One star 🌟 the location one star prices🌟 and general appearance 🌻just indulgence a star by default. Maybe after few drinks and laughter with friends later evening I may change my mind! Try it! For what’ve seen by passing by it’s crowded and noisy late evening.

Bar is alright, but the door staff are terrible. I have aspergers syndrome and they didn't seem to like my bluntness of replies, which is just the way I am sorry. I got highly offended when I was last here and can't see myself coming here again to be honest. It's shocking that even with autism awareness it's still lacking by some establishments.

Terrible club, aggressive bouncers, rude staff, over priced drinks and sexist. The manager was also extremely rude and arrogant, and clearly struggles to do his job properly. It was a risk going in the club anyway as it’s completely empty every time, there are much better clubs in Cardiff that are so much cheaper and actually have an ounce of atmosphere, will never return.

Entered on free entry. Had to leave to take my girlfriend to a bus stop, asked a bouncer if I could leave and come back in 10 minutes or so. The bouncer said that was fine and that I didn’t need a stamp. When I returned 10 mins later, the bouncer said he didn’t recognise me (short memory!) and asked me to pay entry. I asked to speak to a supervisor and I was then refused entry. On top of this, it’s the most monotonous atmosphere in Cardiff - no culture and expensive drinks. Basic and boring with rude, entitled bouncers.

I booked 2 booths for March 28th prior to Covid-19 and paid the deposit, i was in regular contact everyday making sure the venue was still open and everything was ok. Until the week before 21st March i decided due to the uncertainty i would cancel the bookings and then Soda (Rachael) no longer responded to my emails nor were the calls being answered. Very disappointing service.

This IS a pub right? Had no draught beer (upstairs or downstairs). We waited in a queue for 45 mins for this!? All While having to watch doormen let in their friends/young girls immediately. Staff lacked manners also. Would not return if you paid me...

Went as a VIP, the service was rubbish, had to actually wave at staff to stop them from staring at themselves in the mirrors to serve you. Bar staff were more concerned with their appearance over making customers wait. Ladies bathroom is covered in black mould.

Paid £5 entry after entry waited 45 mins + still could not get a drink so we left. 50% of customers in bar waiting at bar, service shocking, each bar staff member could only manage one customer every 10 mins

Was told by the marketing lady outaide that it was £3 entry.. when we went inside they charged us £4. Only a pound off but not the point, when I mentioned this paying the woman she just looked at me stupid! 0 for customer service and won't be going again

We booked a stag do at Soda, the online booking team where great, they advised on the packages, cost etc - I booked within a fairly short time so I was on the phone all the time too and they were very helpful. We booked the £350 package for drinks and entry, but wanted VIP in the attic and was informed its a Minimum spend of £500 to get a booth up there, so the booking team did a deal that I added another bottle on the package bumping it up to £500 so we could have VIP, I then asked if I can use a privilege card that I have for SODA that online says 30% off bookings, I asked if that would work and Rebecca checked and come back saying that's fine so cost was now £350! I was very chuffed and was grateful to the staff, I did call a few times as stated earlier and checked and confirmed everything a few times over a period of a month and a bit. I prepaid everything before the night, even though you can pay on the night I paid early. Then, come to the night, we turn up at the door and the hostess says there’s a balance of £150 to pay before you can go to VIP?? So I explained the package that had been organised and booked and it was a back and forth for 10 mins within other managers and they said fine, but this is the last time we'll honour it? as if I was making it up! got upstairs and another hostess then tries to charge me again the other £150? I then had to explain the situation again, with the same back and forth, treated as if I’m lying, she’s holding the card reader expecting me to pay. Once this lady lets us through, we order our 4 premium bottles and they only have 1/4 of the menu, with the prices blacked out so we are unsure what’s in the choices and if they even have them in stock. They don't have any of the Hennessey or anything we want bar Cîroc so I go and ask if there’s a big bottle since we can’t have the 2 bottles that we had paid for, for that to be out of stock! So, we just ended up with what we were given? They then bring the drinks over and decant them into thermos looking things? which they said is new, completely kills the vibe of a celebration when your battling just to get what you paid for and organised previously! I really don’t know if id book again, which is a shame as I love SODA.

Lively club, attracts various ages so doesnt feel like your in a student club. Different rooms and levels with different music. Talk to the reps outside they can normally get you vip, free entry or half price entry after a certain time

The manager is unprofessional and immature. Pre booked a table for 10pm well in advance. Arrived on the day to be told we couldn't have our table as it wasn't busy enough for them to open upstairs where our table was. We had paid a lot of money for this package. We were told we would have to wait until it was busy enough regardless of the fact we had paid for the table from 10pm. We waited almost an hour and it was clear we were likely never going to have our table. There was a big group waiting to come in who security wouldnt let in until after our group left! The security staff were overly aggressive when trying to speak to them and the manager came down and got defensive and aggressive from the start. We were told by numerous staff that we couldn't have our table and he told me I was lying! The hostess even admitted that they had no record of our booking so it was their mistake! Thankfully we managed to get our money back and go elsewhere! Would never go here again.

Very good club and the music tick all the boxes. The only problem is the overzealous bouncers. After paying my discounted £4 and having some good fun, I stepped up to the VIP unknowingly. Without notice, I was hauled off and on seeking an explanation, I was threatened with expulsion from the club. 2 of my mates had near similar altercations with the same bouncer. Unfortunately I did not get his name. All I can tell is Cardiff is nice place

We used the Soda Bar for a hen night and we had a 5 star service from the time of booking to the actual night. We had exclusive use of their VIP lounge which includes a big outdoor area, a brilliant cocktail master class with so many different cocktails, excellent buffet and two staff serving behind our bar. We want to thank the two staff Harry and Sammi particularly because they were just the best...nothing was too much trouble and they totally entered into the spirit of the hen night. I can't rate this venue highly enough and all for a very reasonable price.
