This place needs a good shake up as they keep running out of Newcastle Brown Ale. When you walk in they think it’s funny that they don’t have you tipple and do not make you feel welcome 3 times over this Xmas Season I have walked in and walked straight back out as the don’t have Newcastle Brown Ale also the gents and disable toilets are so dirty all the customers are complaining but nothing gets done they just smile and carry on chatting. This pub needs a reality check or it will be another pub closing down dew to bad management. Kind regards

Warning to all Dj'S and Artists in the entertainment industry in and around the cardiff area Saturday 22nd jan 2022 i had the misfortune of covering a venue for the Regular Dj at the Hollybush in Pentwyn Cardiff my contact details was given to the licency (Karen Woodward) by the Dj that was unable to work that evening. I was then contacted by her over " whats App" and arrangement's were made to cover the venue although it was only a few hours notice After the evening had concluded i was approached by the then a drunk landlady and was told payment would not be forthcoming by her and i was to contact the previous DJ for payment as she dont see why it was her concern as it was his work i was doing unable to deal with the matter with a drunken landlady at 12oclock in the evening that acted like a 15yr old in a school yard .i then left without payment I contacted the Reg Dj the next day; To find that when she said she had already paid him for the night. what she didnt say was she had already knowing received the payment back into her account before id even been contacted by her that day I dont say this lightly nor do i post negative comments ,but after over 25yrs of being in this industry and a licency myself too.ive never seen such a immature and unprofessional person that has a dutie of care for her customers and others around her please be aware of this when taking a booking for this venue or visiting this public house

What can I say, the true meaning of a pub is a place that feels like a home for the local community and that’s exactly what the Hollybush does. Excellent service from open until close, always feel so welcome and the smile on your face as you walk in will remain until the second you leave. Truly a credit to the community, Danielle and Jamie are one on a million. Nowhere I’d rather be than the bush❤️

Oh dear. Be giving this a miss from now on. Rude staff, closed food service with no notice, place looked really grimy. We walked out after a waiting to be served. Atmosphere was "locals only".

As I arrived at the Hollybush, I was greeted by lovely, and friendly staff who made me feel very welcome. The service was excellent and the food was delicious and I would rate them 10/10. I would visit again as my experience was amazing and I would recommend the Hollybush to anyone.

One of the only local pubs left and have been there over the last 20 plus years on and off from when it was run by Stephens to now and a great pub, always really friendly, prices are very good considering prices these days, they do a good range of food too and have a top beer garden 👌 staff are always very friendly and always looking to keep the customers happy by asking what they want and arranging nights for them like karaoke and private singers, poker, quizzes, kid’s bouncy castles and face painting and more. Highly recommended 5* from me - Mansy

Lovely Sunday dinner here, landlady kerry is a lovely lady very welcoming so is all the staff .. Dj crumb the best around love his nights up the hollybush many pubs have the odd trouble maker but kerry deals with any situation to insure the safety of her customers. Both previous and present mangers have been great and the pub is a lovely place to have a quiet drink lovely food and the occasional dance.

I’ve been going to the holly bush for over 12 years now. Number of different managers and staff. The pub is still the same yes with new faces but isn’t that a good thing? DJ mostly every weekend. There was always fights in the pub but in my opinion I’ve seen less in the last couple months or so that I have previously. Saturday was extremely good for my nieces 21st, absolutely packed more than I’ve seen before. Who cares it has new managers and what ever they are doing it’s must be doing something right. They are coming into an already established community pub, and from my opinion has done well so far

Lovely community pub, something for everyone. Old, young or anything else. The new light bites menu is perfect if you happen to pop out but end up staying out out and need a cheeky snack

the pub is fantastic good entertainment wicked staff they go above and beyond for the customers I couldn't get a taxi and one of the bar staff drove out of her way to make sure I got home safe thank you and most of all a great atmosphere 😊😊😊

If you want to save in heating then this is the place to go. Always warm. Not just the heating but the hot men there with their warm welcomes. No place like home, that’s a lie. There is no place like the bush. 🍻🍻💙💙

Popped in for a pint with the brother in law lol in Cardiff. Used to get promps straight away not sure way I don't get them now 😕. Clean Place went in at lunch on our way back home to Peterborough.
