Lovely little place on the bottom of rummey hill . Lovely interior. First time I've been here and won't be the last. Had the 10oz rump steak and chips with garlic mushrooms . Was excellent . Deffinetly worth a visit. Best to book as it was filling up as we left 👍

We were visiting to take my father in law who was from Cardiff to his final resting place Cathays Cemetery where his father is also. Looking for somewhere to have an evening meal and I saw the reviews were excellent and we have to agree. It was the best meal we have enjoyed in a long time absolutely delicious. A wonderful cocktail menu as well. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere and entertainment. Thank you 😊

Had a spontaneous dinner at the Pub. I ordered fish and chips, my partner had the pulled pork burger. It was so tasty, also a big portion, I had to ask the waiter to put it in a box for me as couldn't finish it off. And the pickled radish, oh my word! The chef even wrote down the recipe for me and put an extra portion of it with my leftovers. That's what I call brilliant service. Good quality food, not expensive at all, nice interior and well looked after by the staff. Recommend it to everyone.

A lovely gastro pub. Food was delicious and well presented. Good value for money. Really clean and well presented venue. Service was fantastic and staff were attentive without being overbearing. They couldn't have been more helpful or courteous. I will definitely be visiting again.

Myself and my sister visited this pub and kitchen on the 14/08/2021. We had a great time enjoying there delicious food menu of fantastic choices as well as there cold drinks. I would highly recommend this place and we will certainly revisit. Wonderful staff!! Cathy.

Nice relaxed decor inside with happy and attentive staff. Can highly recommend the pulled pork burger if it's on the specials board. Was lush. The girlfriend said she had the best fish and chips so far ever. Respect to the chef.

Lovely family meal here tonight. All 31 of us really enjoyed 😊 The food was beautiful. I had a steak, which was cooked and seasoned to perfection 😁 Paula was fantastic, and was so helpful with all the arrangements. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff even put up all the banners and decor. All in all, a fabulous night. Would definitely recommend, and we will be back!

Visited here on a recent trip to Cardiff based on these good reviews and was not disappointed. Food was absolutely delicious. 100% would return if next in the area.

Anyone in the Wales/Cardiff area would be doing themselves a disservice to not visit this pub! Amazing food, outstanding staff (especially Becky and Jason!!), and incredible atmosphere. Staff were accommodating and left us with many local recommendations for attractions in the area. Food far above par and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a perfect end to a day in Wales.

We grabbed a dinner here it was so filling. We had the chicken burger meal and Steak pie. It was soooo filling, we could have shared one of the meals. Nice atmosphere but little chilly. Would recommend and visit again

The chicken burger cost £15 and came with 1 thin breast and 11-12 chips! It did taste good but i finished 10 mins before every and was still quite hungry after the meal.

Outstanding!! Used this venue for a wedding and cannot thank both management and staff enough for an absolute flawless day, they couldnt do enough for us and made it stress free. Would easily recommend to anyone who is looking for anything from a quick bite to any special event look no further you will not be disappointed!! Would happily come back here for birthday parties, anniversaries and any other day so on behalf of my wife and I thank you to all staff and management at Thackeray Cardiff!!

Food was lovely staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was amazing. They were extremely helpful with my daughter who has multiple allergies dairy being rhe biggest so she couldnt have ice cream with meal, karen went to search to find something my daughter could have for a dessert. Will definitely go back and recommend.

We went to the Thackeray today and the food and service was incredible! The staff were so friendly, the food was served quickly and it was delicious! There were 18 of us in total on our table which can be tricky to get right but they absolutely smashed it. Thanks guys, we'll be seeing you again soon!

13 of us had Sunday Lunch yesterday, was wonderful, all the staff are lovely, we usually have a drink every Sat evening , The food is served and presented very professionally , can't recommend enough. If you're looking for a meal or drink , in lovely surroundings, this is the place for you.

I was pleasantly surprised by this pub/restaurant. I've driven past for years and never even considered going in. Went in for a meal prior to xmas drinks in cardiff and it's really nice inside, tastefully decorated with friendly staff. I had the 10oz Rump Steak and it was well cooked, rare as I had asked for. Good selection of drinks available too.

Ate here last night just my husband and I. Staff were lovely, very attentive without being in your face. Knowledgeable about the wine and food. Starter satay chicken was delicious. Mains of cod loin and chicken tikka were also delicious , my curry was huge. Would definetly eat here again. Staff very meticulous about allergies well done.

We decided to book a very impromptu night in Cardiff and looked for places near our hotel to eat for the evening. We found The Quill and Quote on Google and decided to give it a go based on the great reviews. Wow we were not disappointed, the place itself is cosy and inviting, the food was not only absolutely incredible (we had starters and mains) but also great value. Above all, the service was exceptional, Aaron and Mia thank you so much for being so friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back!

We went there today as a table of 15 and had a lovely time. The staff are so attentive, Nothing is too much trouble, a couple of examples , the lovely barman who asked if i wanted him to help carry my drinks, the fab waiting staff who offered more gravy, sauces and desserts and kept checking everything was ok.. Finally the lovely waitress who may have been the manager who helped me work out the bill for everyone. The Food was lovely, good size portions plenty of choice and good quality meats. Highly recommend. Thanks to all the lovely staff.Well done all!

Large pub/restaurant on eastern edge of Cardiff. Nice selection of both hot and cold food provided for a wedding reception recently attended. Friendly staff and reasonable prices on beers, wines and spirits.

beautiful food mouth watering cuisine good menu , vegetarian options but food cooked to a high and caring level. its a little pricey but believe me worth every penny. service excellent, polite, attentive and hard working. Tried to charge different prices. Gammon was stone cold will not go again sorry I beg to differ. The gammon was for me and I can assure you it was cold. Only reason i didn't complain was due to the fact it was nice! However it was cold Fully accept pricing differences. From online to restaurant. The meal was for grandsons 20th b day and you can't always satisfy large parties

I've been to The Thackery quite a few times now, the food is absolutely amazing, service is excellent. Staff are so efficient and friendly. It's such a pleasure to come to a place where you are made to feel so welcome, it's like home from home. Can't wait to celebrate my 60th in July with you all at your fabulous establishment.
