Great Family pub caters for all ,lovely welcome from the staff on arrival and good service throughout great atmosphere lovely beer garden to plenty of parking and disabled parking and toilets too

Been in couple times recently, had the Cowboy burger today which was really nice! Bar staff always friendly, served by Donna and another lady today 10/10 for service. The Philly Steak Cheese “Roll” 2/10.

Nice pub with a family friendly atmosphere. It was the first night of my first visit to Cardiff and thought to order their traditional lamb faggots just to get orientated with the local culture. Lamb was lovely, moist and beautifully cooked and served in a bed of creamy mash. I love the hint of mint as well which complemented the flavour of the meat perfectly. The serving was massive and worth the price paid. Overall, I'm quite glad my first try at Welsh food was a success.

Place was nice the food was excellent the service went a bit wrong the computer failed to print our order so we had to wait a long time for our meal, however one of the staff noticed and came over to our table and offered us a free starter or desert each. We were very happy with our experience here and will return.

Lovely tasty meal but was unable to order dessert as kitchen was closed early at 8.39 pm.. And although when ordering main meal I was made aware the freezer was broken so no ice cream was available, nothing was mentioned about the kitchen closing early.. Very disappointed

Food was luke warm, no fries that day , I was offered chips which I don't like (chunky chips.) They offered me sweet potatoe fries, and charged me extra...very disappointed with the meal just wasn't nice at all. Tasted like it was precooked and reheated, my sister had scampi the batter wasn't crisp it was soft and again warm not hot. Yuk

Very friendly staff..food was hot, reasonably priced and delicious. Four of us went for lunch and we all enjoyed what we had. Plenty of choice for vegetarians. Would definitely recommend and will be going again very soon.

First visit to the Fox and Hounds on a busy Friday evening. All four meals were tasty, cooked well and done in a timely manner. There was a nice atmosphere and all of the staff from the waitresses to the bar staff were attentive and friendly. Will definitely visit again!

Saturday lunch with family, had our food outside in the huge pub garden. Really good service, friendly helpful staff and the food was perfect. Kid friendly too was lovely. We’ve been here a few times and we’ll be back 👍

We booked a table for a special birthday and was somewhat disappointed with the overall experience. It has been sometime since we last dined at the Fox and Hounds so were curious to see if the event would live up to our expectations. The venue was extremely busy so we had to wait almost an hour for our meal. We were told upon arrival there was a delay. There was some disappointment with drinks and meals ordered as some were not available. However the service was good and the meals were freshly cooked and hot and they all arrived at the same time, very good, staff did themselves proud. We will visit again and hopefully it will not be as busy so that the waiting time will be greatly reduced.

The food was lovely but the service was extemely slow. We had to wait over an hour for food and another hour for our dessert. The pub was packed and there was only two kitchen staff and two waiters.

Ordered the classic burger meal they brought chicken burger instead of classic beef burger I said it was the wrong one and the waitress walked off. When taking the untouched meal back to the bar was told chicken was ordered when we didn't order chicken at all no offer of a replacement and no offer of a refund no apology about the mix up so they kept my money and the meal and so my family had eaten but not me I ened up walking out. I've been coming to this pub for years and lately the service has gone down hill. After this I will never be spend a penny there again.

Really happy with the service of your staff who are really pleasant and nothing to much to ask for bar staff are really friendly and helpful that’s why I leave a tip for behind the bar also meals are always nice and pipping hot even with 7 of us all food came out the same time and really hot definitely eat here again

As soon as we walked in Steve welcomed us & also informed us there could be an hour wait for food, which was fine as there were still more friends to come. We had asked for a comfortable chair, because of my wife's back problem, that was there along with a few other comfy chairs, so much appreciated for that 👍. We all ordered our food at different times, but to be fair, they all came out more or less at the same time, also we didn't wait that long, probably 20 - 30 minutes, Steve & Dylan were really cheerful, friendly & very helpful. We all had a really good night and all really enjoyed our meals. We meet up every few months, so see you again in 10-12 weeks. Thank you

We visit quite often as our small dog is allowed to join us. The staff are always very welcoming and their service is excellent. We’ve visited another pub previously under the same franchise, but the food (which is the same menu) was very poor compared to the Fox and Hounds, we’ve never had a bad meal here and we always speak highly of this place. Keep up the great work.

Table booked for 14:00. Queried wait for food at 14:55, to be told at least another half an hour. Attitude of waitress Natasha was awful and needs a top up on cutomer service skills. The wait on food should have been advised upon ordering. We have supported this pub through pandemic and elderly mother pays £20 each way in a taxi to get to destination. It seems that the larger the party, the more attention is garnered.

Very busy when we arrived so there was a bit of a queue to order. A nice atmosphere and our waiter was amazing, cheerful, friendly and very good at his job. A little down side was the sticky table, not major I know but not very nice either. The food was very good, served hot and excellent value for money. Would definitely go again.

Wonderful staff, great food, friendly pub, ideal for families and pets, could do with a play area for children, as was outside and kids was kicking ball at the fence, but was a enjoyable day with our family

We were welcomed at the bar by the manager and her employee, both were very accommodating. Food was delicious and menu varied, catering for all diet choices. Looking forward to the new menu coming out at the end of the month. The 2 meals for £11 is amazing value and portions are large. The hot chocolate we had to round off the evening was lovely, delicately topped of with cream. They even went that extra mile to provide skimmed milk for the coffee. Excellent service all round!

Computer says no!! Booked online. Never asked who we were when we arrived. Went for the chicken shack option. Only if you want the chicken how they want it! I asked for grilled chicken with salad and cauliflower (cauliflower instead or chips or rice). Computer said no. Can't change the menu. Order went though with chips - but they never came out - so someone spoke to the kitchen! Chicken was brick hard. So, if you can't eat potatoes or rice then it's just chicken and salad. Also, I can't eat raw onion but there was little point asking fo that to be removed!! You pay for the lot whether you have it or not !! Menu says it's £9. I paid £9.50 each. Ordered skin on fries for my partner- didn't get those. Also asked for mineral water - not available. Pint of coke (syrup off the pump) was a half pint at £2.95. Very disappointed. The place stank of cigarette smoke the whole time. FYI spent 20 years as a chef and waiting tables so know what I'm talking about!!!

Yesterday lunchtime popped in for a quick bite, sirloin steak everything on the plate was cooked beautifully . As good as I've ever had. CHEERS

Wonderful experience last night, the lovely lady popped 2 tables together for the 5 of us, excellent gluten free range and so tasty and filling with the most amazing choc fudge cake. The whole place was welcoming and just a fantastic evening, thank you.

I love this place - excellent Dark Smooth. Always busy on weekend so prebook. Good food choices good food standard. Not a gastro pub so don't expect fancy London nonsense just good value food. Suitable for families.

Very friendly staff but food very basic. Table next to ours said they'd have had better food at McDonald's. Won't be returning any time soon. Feels like an attempt to maximise profits in these hard times.

Came here over the Xmas period after being told about it from a family friend. Was not disappointed by anything, staff couldn’t be any better and the food was to die for. Will definitely be back sooner rather than later!

Food wasn’t the best quality. Burgers burnt on my cowboy burger. Chips very hard on Grandson’s chicken nugget meal. Wife’s chicken and bacon salad very nice. Strawberry sundae ice cream my Grandson had was nice

Went there with my family and it was a lovely atmosphere. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. We had the 30% vouchers so there was a wait for food. We didn’t mind waiting as it was very busy in the garden and inside. A team member (don’t know her name) found us a table and told us of the wait, the staff were rushed off their feet but the food was lovely. I will visit again, lovely pub.
