Lovely little pub, it's perfectly located across the road from Llandaf train station and a few shops! It's a lovely building Itself with a cool outside seating area and a lovely food menu! I didn't eat this time as I'm working in Cardiff for a week but I'll definitely be going back and the food smelt amazing! Lovely welcoming staff and more then reasonable prices I'd highly recommend popping in for a quick one or some food!

Visited the 17th Dec. I was told I could not go in the Lounge. I found a table in the Bar and ordered a drink. Then before finishing my drink told I had to vacate the table. There was no reserved sign on the table. This represents horrendous customer service. It was a bit of a tatty pub, so I don't know why they feel they are so special.

The food here is absolutely delicious! It's not quick service but very well worth waiting for as everything is perfectly cooked and full of flavour. So far we've had the steak sandwich, 2 different burgers and 2 specials of the week (one prawn linguini, one fish), all were fantastic. The desserts are great too - if you have a big appetite try the waffles! The barman is really friendly and dogs are made very welcome too - well worth a visit if you've been to Hailey Park or Forest Farm!

Works as an easy to pop to local, especially as it has a decent-sized outdoor seating space. The food menu is limited but decent quality, and the Sunday roast is the cheapest around and not bad at all. What let's the place down, in my view, is a lack of interesting beers and wines - no local breweries are represented, and the wines are the ones you can pick up for £6 a bottle at any corner shop. The thing that makes the place stand out is the focus on events - hosting the indie market at weekends and holding philosophy and quiz nights really give it a presence in the community.

This place has been transformed by Sam and Ian and is now a hub for the local community. Pub quizzes, plant sales, philosophy in the pub, open mike nights, comedy nights, local choir, carol singing at Christmas. The pub quizzes are the best I've ever been too and the food is great!

I had a lovely meal here on Sunday! The owners are wonderfully friendly - and there are separate places for dogs to come in too! Will definitely recommend. Also, reasonably priced food and drinks!

This pub has been recently taken over by Iain and Sam and they have transformed this pub to a friendly and lovely place to visit. Llandaff North is a suburb of Cardiff and boasts a charming community and also is right by the Taff Trail, with easy access along the river into the City. We often visit Cardiff and Llandaff North and The Railway are a must for us. Tim and Nannw.

Very good food, vegetarian options were particularly impressive. The pictures of the food were exactly what you got. Nice portion sizes.

The food was OK, but the service was really, really slow 🐌. I'm taking about close to 2 hours waiting for food. The drinks were good. Some of the food was OK other was good, nothing impressive. Maybe we were lucky. The pub was really busy in that day, but we didn't have much alternatives.

We love the railway. Always a lovely atmosphere and we especially love coming up when it is sunny to sit in the beer garden. Plenty of things going on throughout the week.

Really nice hot roast and beautiful fish and chips for my daughter :-) My only qualm was the paying at the end of it as I had to remember what we had She told me she would ring it through the till as it hadn’t been recorded previously which seemed odd But.. it was still delicious x

Pleasant for us peasants. If Marx and Engles were alive today or Aldous Huxley, CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien, or I dare say Elgar and Holst, and perhaps Vaughan Williams...they'd have a swift one in here. Lush

I haven't been there for a few years, it's been done up,plenty of space outside with lots of tables.the inside is tidy with a bar and lounge. One downside the beer is quite expensive.

My fiance and I went here for a celebratory meal not expecting much from a local pub however we could have not been more wrong as the menu was extensive but not overwhelming service was absolutely delightful the drinks reasonably priced and the quality of the food premium it was a real shock and we have certainly advised on everyone especially those for a gluten-free vegan that they should come with us to the railway one day a small procedure could be that the Sunday roasts which are truly extraordinary or a little bit pricey for those who might not be able to afford it however they are also the top quality food

The Railway is still requesting contact details, wear a mask whilst moving about and one person at a time using the toilet. Table service is provided. This is allowed by personal choice of the owner which I felt fine about. As for the pub itself, the staff are friendly and as usual, fine ales are served.

Fantastic food and ambience. Sam and Ian are amazing people - great sense of humour! You really must attend their music quiz that's held once a month.

Seven of us enjoyed a fantastic three course Christmas dinner last night. The food was outstanding and Ian was a great host. Special thanks for catering so well for me (im coeliac) and I was served gluten free cauliflower cheese, gravy, Xmas pudding and mince pie. We will be back for sure. Thanks once again.

👍👍 Great Jamaican food, we had a great time! I highly recommend the bottomless brunch, our waitress, Lucy, was very attentive and we had a great chat about nights out in Cardiff! The bar staff's cocktails were beautiful, too!
