A busy restaurant with attentive staffs to cater for you needs.Food looked so appetizing before I start…that my stomach began to rumble. The slow cook lamb is properly cooked & seasoned, leaving a pleasant aftertaste in your mouth. Simple is the best, better all the rest. Finger-licking

It was really good. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about wine, and recommended a really really nice dry white wine for our meal. I can't wait to go back and eat the food again. It was so filling and I defo dreamt about it that night. The only reason it isn't 5 stars is due to the level of noise in the restaurant. It was to the point where I left while my partner waited for the bill. When we go back will definelty have to enquire to sit in a different area of the restaurant than the bar area.

There are many posh places in South Wales, that can put for a poshest Sunday dinner you will ever experience in a lifetime. Le Monde in Cardiff has the beautiful atmosphere with Art Deco posters. The salad bowl canopy is very juicy for a healthy choice. The small lamb ribs were great with the hot marinade sauce. You can eat that with your hands and wipe it clean afterwards. My favourite main course is Swordfish steak. Is very tender with the roast vegetables and chips. It’s great to have swordfish on Sunday. that most other posher people prefer lamb or Cornish Brill. The slice of strawberry cheesecake is very rich, but not filling without the cappuccino as post-desert. Another job well done for going to the French brassiere in Cardiff reviewed.

It was very busy due to Xmas work / social events. Food was great, staff lovely. We were a large booking and we sat down over an hour late but they gave us 2 free bottles to apologise which was very nice and they kept us informed all the time. Visited Incognito club upstairs after which was lovely

Visited this place a few times now for a date night with my mrs, I must say we are always extremely impressed with the quality of food but most importantly how attentive & friendly the staff are. As soon as your through the door your treated with smiles & a happy atmosphere. The restaurant features lovely art deco styled theme with an open kitchen which is immaculate. You can go up and select the exact cut of meat or fish you’d like which I think is amazing The wine selection here is great and they have a lot to choose from but if your stuck then ask the staff as they are extremely knowledgeable about the wine pairing. If your visiting cardiff definitely make a reservation as you won’t be disappointed this place is a real gem

Oysters ohh so good! 👌👌👌 A busy restaurant but with attentive staffs to cater for your needs. Exceptional food selection. Wouldn’t have second thoughts in coming back here. A must try whenever you’re around Cardiff.

As always we enjoyed a beautiful meal at Le Monde which is by far one of our favourite places in South Wales to go for a nice meal. The lamb is exquisite, so tender and tasty with plenty of flavour. Our waiter, Mr Moncho I think, is so attentive and lovely. 10/10 would recommend!

This is one of those really interesting places to eat. I'm not really interested in restaurants where you have to stand staring at a board to choose what you fancy eating. But at Le Monde, you have to. There is a board to choose your starters, and mains. But there's a fish counter where you choose your desired fish to be taken away and cooked to your liking with optional sauces, vegetables or a great salad selection. My wife chose the fish soup and I had the homemade fishcakes. Followed by swordfish steaks. The food here is cooked to perfection but, be warned, this place is busy, busy, busy. So you need to book in advance and don't expect a quiet romantic meal, but professionalism you will get. I would definitely come back here if I were to visit Cardiff again.

Great restaurant in the middle of Cardiff. Food was great and the menu was exciting. Really enjoyed the process of going up to the counter and choosing the food fresh from the counter, made it a more interesting dining experience. Although, we did sit there for about an hour waiting for a menu because we didn’t realise you had to go up and read the board for the menu’s instead of getting a paper menu in front of you - that’s a reflection on our own idiocy not the restaurant. Previously hired the top private room for a corporate function and it was a perfect venue.

Fantastic food. I love sea food and I was happy to come across Le monde when I first arrived in town. I had the famous salt baked sea bass and honestly, it couldn’t be better. I came back the day after to try the oysters and the scallops and once again i had a great experience. The quality of the ingredients stands out and the service is 5 starts. I was served by a waiter called Renan who was kind and ready to answer all my food lover questions about the menu. If you are in Cardiff I strongly recommend a visit.

Very central well established brasserie style restaurant. I went on a an event day at the Principality Stadium so the restaurant was running a limted match day menu. I had a sirloin which was cooked well. Staff were friendly and service was fine.

Visited for my friends 40th and what a beautiful place. Food is exceptional, the customer service second to none and the whole vibe of the place was so lovely. The Mojitos are the best I've ever tasted! Can't wait to go back and highly recommend! Thanks for such a lovely evening

Great spot. Excellent ambiance and selections of fresh seafood and steaks. Order at counter for food...which typically I don't like, but you see the fresh selections and pick the items you want prepared. Beverages and all other service is completed with traditional servers.

Le Monde is a Cardiff institution, and I can understand why. Service, food, wine, and atmosphere are all spot on. Selection and quality of seafood and meat is hard to beat anywhere else in the city. The wine list is very extensive. Highly recommend a visit for any special occasion, or as a treat.

The food perfectly cooked and enjoyed my my meal . Service was excellent. The waiting staff were really good . We're available when needed for a very busy restaurant. Was Impressed. The ambience was good ... but I felt the noise levels were very high in the restaurant. I literally had to shout to speak to the next person sitting beside me.

Best place in Cardiff for steak, fish and wine. Everything offered is quality without being exorbitant. Unpretentious, very friendly service. Has been popular for decades for a good reason.

Average quality Christmas meal. Very poor selection of dairy-free options. The meal was lukewarm with inedible hard swede, clearly undercooked. Turkey was on a dry side, pigs in blankets unpleasantly greasy. Starter very small. All in all, not worth the price. Service was very quick and drinks are reasonably good quality. However, one of the waitresses was rude pushing in behind my chair to collect the dishes, no apologies or even an earlier mention that's what she was planning to do - I obviously would have got up to give her space or passed on the plates, there's no need to push in and make me wobble in my chair mid-conversation. Clearly inexperienced. Some senior staff members are just over the top and borderline theatrical in this place. The restaurant is very loud and there are far too many tables squeezed into a small space, it's overcrowded. Overall, the place looks and feels slightly naff, aspiring to be a quality restaurant but failing grotesquely.

I was invited here to meet a client for lunch. What can I say it was amazing! Food was of an excellent standard and all staff very friendly and professional. Will definitely be back with my husband next time we are in Cardiff.

Lovely restaurant well placed in the centre of Cardiff. Wonderful selection of fish and worthwhile if you are willing to splash out a bit!

Was really busy so took about 5mins before the host could check us in. You have to order at the fish/meat counter which I found slightly annoying during this pandemic. No social distancing and the restaurant was super busy. However the food was really good, especially the oysters. They do a two course special menu which is great value. Portion size was enormous.

Le Monde, Cardiff Lively atmosphere for the discerning diner and those looking for a good experience. I am so glad I did the rare thing of booking a table even though Maitre De felt I didn't need to as the place was heaving when I got there. I was warmly welcomed by the Maitre De who told me there was a 20 minute wait and then he escorted me to the bar where I ordered a Merlot. I asked if there was anyone who could advise on a wine choice for the Venison I was hankering for. I was informed they did have a Sommelier (A sommelier, or wine steward, is a trained and knowledgeable wine professional, normally working in fine restaurants, who specializes in all aspects of wine service as well as wine and food pairing- Wikipedia) who produced a wine list and recommended a wonderful wine, that went well with the venison. I was taken to my table, my wine was served. I was escorted to the meats counter where I was shown the different meats and fish that were on display for cooking that day. I ordered venison, broccoli with oyster sauce, new potatoes in butter. The Venison was medium rare, succulent, served in peppercorn sauce, red cabbage, broccoli was served with oyster sauce, new potatoes. Wine paired was excellent Service was excellent (5/5) at least 4 people asked if I wanted dessert menu and coffee. For dessert I ordered creme brulee with coffee with cream. The creme brulee was served in a cute small copper based frying pan. My overall experience 5/5. I had a really good evening and enjoyed the food, atmosphere and the service. I really had a very evening. It doesn't get better than that.

Another great visit to la Monde, great restaurant with a brilliant selection of beers wines etc. Food is always excellent and service is best I've had in Wales

Arrived to the restaurant and waited for 30 minutes before the table was ready, which was fine as enjoy conversation and a tipple. However due to the delay you would think the service would be second to none it wasn't. Waited for water for over an hour, staff didn't seem to work together so the evening was disjointed which was a shame.

The concept is a good idea, where you order from a fresh fish/meat counter and they will cook it for you, however the let down was their service as it was very slow (due to being over booked) and they forgot to bring me me my steak sauce and then trying to charge me for it. I may consider coming to this restaurant again during quieter periods where hopefully they will be more attentive.

Friends treated me to a birthday meal here and it was lovely. The staff were great and the food selection was overwhelming. I honestly didn't know where to start! I had a lamb dish which was beautifully cooked and finished off with a creme brulee. Everywhere was clean and tidy and Molton Brown products in the ladies.
