Always a warm welcome at the Beverley! We stopped in for an after work pint and catch up with an old friend which turned into a few drinks and a bite to eat. The food was lovely, fresh, hot and came quickly and there was a great range of drinks to choose from. The staff were polite and seemed happy to be there and more than happy to help! The covid protocols in place were clear and easy to follow whilst also being thorough...A great evening, Thanks :)

Amazing place to stay all round. Cleanliness is first class. Prices of food and drink is first class and the manager and staff are just great. Highly recommend this pub. Great environment for holiday makers and families. On site parking is a bonus.

The Beverley is the best. Our room was large, comfortable and quiet enough for good afternoon naps and sleeping in. We didn't notice noise from other rooms. Housekeeping was professional but personal, and happy to help with small things like an extra box of tissues. Just downstairs, the Beverley Pub fulfilled every other possible requirement for a unique and memorable visit. In the pub we found not only excellent food and drink, but a public space used by visitors and neighbors for gatherings, large and small. Privacy was respected, but it was also possible to have a conversation with your neighbor or the staff, if they weren't too busy. The staff and management practiced the best kind of hospitality; warm, open, professional, and caring. And finally, the Beverley's location in Pontcanna can't be beat for access to Bute Park, the Castle, City Centre, the National Museum, Llandaff Cathedral, the University, and the Sofia Gardens Coach Station. We look forward to our return to Cardiff, and to the Beverley.

Room was large and bed comfy. Friendly reception staff. The reception space is not particularly welcoming, it's dated and quite dark. We heard running, jumping and footsteps from upstairs until late. We called reception but no answer so had to go up ourselves to ask the guests to be quiet. Really creaky floors.

I really enjoyed my stay. Polite staff, lovely room & and food was nice. Couple of negative issues:- I found the toilet in an awkward position. And larger individual would have serious problems . I also asked for a breakfast bap, sausage & poached egg with brown bread. I received 2 poached eggs and a sausage on a plate with bread and I had to make my own bap with what was in front of me. Also for me and I rate this a serious issue..the internet was poor / non existent. I was assured by the gentleman that booked me in the wifi was excellent. I couldn't complete my business deadlines. Because of this ...I will not recommend the hotel to anyone who requires access to the internet.

Clean, tidy, decent sized room with superb spacious modern bathroom. Everything you need in the room for a short stay, such as hanging area, hairdryer, tv and tea/coffee making facilities. Great bar downstairs with lovely freshly cooked breakfast. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Great location, easy walking distance to city centre, castle, stadium, station etc. Lovely green area nearby too.

Our room was lovely, our bed was very comfortable. The hotel location was central to everything we needed, Sport Wales and shops. Also the restaurant/pub was lovely, food etc. I will definitely stay again if I'm ever in Cardiff again.

Lovely clean, modern room. Double bed and sofa bed for husband, myself and two kids. Great power shower! Tv working :-) Also enjoyed delicious breakfast with check out at 12. Porridge, egg and sausage bap, avo on toast and French toast. Paid for breakfast separate to the v affordable room price. Lovely pub downstairs. Would recommend hotel!

Very comfortable beds but the pillows could do with changing they are very lumpy. The shower was the best I’ve had in a hotel, no loss of pressure from one head to the other Plenty of room The heating doesn’t need to be on anywhere in the building my room was very hot (I had friends in room 11 and their room was unbearably hot even after putting the radiator off and opening the windows and putting the fan on) and trying to carry luggage up and down the stairs was too much with the heating blasting. More car parking facilities would be a massive plus but the staff are very helpful and will move their cars to create space if needed. There is a wall in room 5 that could use some attention the paint and player appears to be flaking off. Overall it’s a fantastic place to stay staff are great, location is good, beds are comfy, I wouldn’t hesitate to come again.

Room was clean and comfortable We booked in as a family and didn’t realise until we got there that the room had no bath. We also had to climb a lot of stairs to get to our room and with a baby in tow it was a bit difficult. We waited a long time for an iron to arrive in-fact we were already on our way out the room. Knowing in advance about the room would have helped

Room clean and comfortable. Staff friendly. Shower room badly designed. Couldn't use the shaver point as it was located too close to the wall, also the basin was too small to wash your face (other basin designs with side taps would have been more suitable).

The rooms were lovely, love the modern bathrooms. Staff were really friendly, think his name was Dan maybe a supervisor that checked us in! Only thing I can say is the room we were in was right next to the back gate where you get your delivery, and the beer delivery at 7:30 did wake us up as it was so loud but obviously not much you can do about this

The room was immaculately presented. Very high standard of cleanliness. Very comfortable beds. The staff we spoke to were all extremely pleasant. The room was very hot but I could see that efforts had been made to keep it cool such as providing a fan and leaving the windows open prior to our check in. I will definitely book again if/when I need to travel to Cardiff

All staff are very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. I think the bathroom was one of the cleanest I have ever seen. Beds and pillows comfortable and good room size. Only about a 15mins walk tops to get to town.

We discovered the Beverly last year and have returned repeatedly since. The rooms are immaculate and include pretty much everything you could need. The staff are always warm and friendly, and have been more than helpful when we've had questions or requests. We have never had an issue with the noise from downstairs and having the ability to eat so close is excellent, the food is great too. It is so close to the city centre it makes an excellent base for trips. We wouldn't stay anywhere else now!

A great place to stay in a quiet area of Cardiff. The rooms are not very big, but good enough for a couple of nights. Great with parking in the backyard. Traditional breakfast is served in the pub. Recommend reserving a table if you want to have dinner on Friday or Saturday. We found that almost all tables were reserved for a company. I think that residents who want to have dinner should be given the opportunity to get a table without making a reservation.

Room was very well presented , clean and dust free... bed, Linen, towels etc perfectly folded ... Amenities well and tidily set out. Room smelt fresh and was well aired. Slight amount of damage to wall above radiator under window ... Only thing that detracted from the room

Staff were very welcoming and friendly, dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were excellent, drinks very reasonable. Room was lovely and spotless. Location was perfect and free parking was fantastic. I would love to return.

Some rooms require redecoration & air conditioning, also soundproofing for rooms 2 and ones on that side of the building. Having said that the rooms are comfortable and clean. It's a shame that the food is in the style of a gastro pub, portions are generous but I'd prefer a proper evening meal that hasn't been Americanised...

The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. The room was well appointed and the bathroom was really spacious and good. Great location and reasonable price. The pillows were hard and uncomfortable. The room was warm and there were no temperature controls. Breakfast was reasonably priced though the food could have been served hot. Parking wasn't guaranteed and we were lucky to find a spot on the street outside. All in all, we liked the hotel and the staff.

I was very impressed with everything. Staff were brilliant, room was lovely and with the weather being very cold the whole building was constantly warm. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely book again.

We enjoyed our stay. The family room we were in had plenty of room, even with the extra bed. The room was very clean spotless and nicely decorated. The only downside was the room we were in was at the front of the hotel so above the outside tables at the front of the hotel. This made it quite noisy until the bar shut, however, it was a lovely evening so there were lots of people outside. I suspect this would not be an in colder weather!

The room was large and comfortable. The refurbished bathroom was very good The staff were efficient and friendly. The food was plentiful, well priced but not to our taste.

Room was lovely, the bar catered for gluten free, was a bit noisy in the morning but not too bad, late check out was fab, on site secure parking was fab, room was really hot I had to open the window but better than being cold for sure.

We had a pretty good stay there. Parking behind the hotel is tight and just enough for guests. Car park is locked later in the night so you park at roadside. No lifts in this hotel. Room was big and comfy bed. Toilet is adequate. Staff is at hand to help if needed. Location is near Bude Park and a bit of a walk to town and castle, but doable. Good for an overnight stay.

Lovely pub with spacious and comfortable seating. Breakfast was delicious (small veggie). Room was lovely. Not overly spacious but everything you could need, bathroom was nice and modern. Fan provided was much appreciated. Tea, coffee, milk and sugar provided too.

Excellent service and staff were great, very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, bathroom was fantastic, looks like it had obviously been updated and modernised. We were a group of 4, two adults and two children. We had a double bed with sofa bed, both were very comfortable. The only thing due to the age of the building is, we could hear the guests upstairs and when people were going up and down the stairs. Ear plugs sorted that though. It was quite warm in the room, which the small fan helped with. The room was made up each day we were there, lots of tea and coffee available too. Good location, as we walked into Bute park and Sophia gardens which were a few minutes away from the hotel. Then walked to a local cafe and got a bus into the bay. Overall, great value and we'd definitely stay again if in the area.

I would not recommend this place , there was heavy cobwebs in our room , we ordered an evening meal and looked lovely but had stomach ache after. The night manager was very rude , I would not recommend this place personally 😑

I love this hotel. This is our second stay and it is just as good second time around. Such a lovely room. Comfy bed, with great pillows and the bathroom is excellent with beautiful towels and toiletries and a hot towel rail that actually works. The staff were really friendly and the pub downstairs was great with good service and great atmosphere. The breakfast was excellent too. Would definitely recommend.

Very friendly and always helpful staff. Good prices. Food was very good as well. We stayed 3 nights in the apartment (number 1) with our 2 children. Bathroom was fantastic. Bright and spacious. Room itself was very clean and comfy. 1 bad point though. No wardrobe but we managed with bags on the floor 🤣.

Room was excellent, everything you needed, including a fan as it got pretty warm at the top of the building. Room was lively spacious and comfortable. Bathroom really good, great shower. Sink was a mystery, no plug or shut off, so struggled to shave without continuly running water. Had secure parking on site which was a bonus, all be it very tight.

A little bit of a walk out of town, but it makes it a perfect location as you can park the car outside or in the small car park. Service was excellent as was the hearty breakfast. Our room was a little hot but the fan provided helped. Looks like refurbished recently with all mod cons in the bathroom including rain shower or normal one. Would have benefited from a small wardrobe. Otherwise lovely stay and would go back if in Cardiff again.

Lovely room beautiful hotel standard. The most reasonable ( and lovely) breakfast I have ever had. Very central with beautiful park and cafes/restaurants within walking distance.

  • 2/5 Pete L. 1 year ago on Google
The room was pleasant enough although the windows could not be opened more than 3 or 4 inches. There was a sign on the windows stating that the window opening has been restricted, and locks had been placed to ensure the window could not be opened any further. As the room had no extra ventilation, except that window, the room became hot and extremely uncomfortable to sleep in even with the small portable fan that was provided. No other air flowed into the room.

If you want good pub food and friendly helpful staff this is it. I have dietary requirements as in gluten/wheat free and dairy intolerant. The staff were very helpful in helping to determine what was safe for me to eat. They were very good with my 4 year old grandson who is very active and loud 😂.

Friendly and helpful staff. Marvellous breakfast! Generous check out time. Pity about the complimentary teas and coffees being so minimal. One biscuit each and not enough milks

The hotel is in a great location in central Cardiff, near Poncanna Fields and the river. The room has everything you need and is clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful and friendly. It's also great to be able to eat dinner in the pub downstairs.

Generally an excellent place to stay. Very welcoming, easy booking in, lovely helpful friendly staff despite being busy. Rooms beautifully clean and spacious, fab bathrooms. Good breakfast and staff willing to do fresh coffee despite being near the end of breakfast time. Room for improvement: It would be nice to have a fruit/yogurt option for breakfast for those of us that can’t stand the thought of a cooked start, though I appreciate it can be an expensive alternative. However, I enjoyed the porridge & toast but didn’t realise toast was available until I asked. Because this is an old building with steep stairs we should’ve asked for help with bags for two of our party as they had sever arthritis but we didn’t ask and no one offered. However, to be fair I don’t know how anyone would know unless we asked, and we didn’t realise how many stairs were involved until we arrived. Generally we loved our stay.

As always, a great welcome, fab staff throughout our stay, a lovely spotlessly clean room. Bed was so comfy, pillows were too hard for me but ideal for hubby. It was very hot in the room despite no heating on. Have already booked to go again.

Not a bad little place. The food was lovely, the staff were welcoming, location not too bad, roughly 20 minute walk to the centre. The room wasn't too bad, but for the price, having paint peeling off the walls from what looks like an old leak from the ceiling was a bit disappointing.

  • 4/5 Jo P. 1 year ago on Google
The breakfast was amazing, we loved having the choice from the breakfast menu. The shower room was really modern and everything was super clean. The only drawback was the fact that the room was quite noisy with sounds from below. I'm not sure whether it's above the kitchen but there was a loud fan or machine. I sleep with ear plugs so it didn't really affect me until the morning

Our stay was so comfortable and easy! Booked the innkeepers as it was close to the stadium. We had food and drinks in the bar beforehand was so good. I throughly enjoyed myself 😁😁😁

  • 4/5 Brian D. 1 year ago on Google
It's very hard to fault. When you're only staying for one night, this ticked all our main boxes. Spotlessly clean room. TV that works. Above all, a large bathroom with an amazing 'drench' shower. Staff in Reception could have been friendlier, but as it was 2nd January, allowances have to be made 😉 Oh, and excellently located with a 20-minute stroll into the centre of Cardiff.

  • 1/5 Gemma R. 1 year ago on Google
Cleanliness was outstanding Noises in the room from other rooms people talking, the fans in other peoples bathroom, there is no soundproofing whatsoever Heating on full and no option to turn off or down so it made the room hot and dry. This is not a family friendly hotel
