Bar Pub

👍👍 So nice to find an independent like this in the city centre. Fantastic range of beers, served by the most enthusiastic barman I've ever encountered! Friendly, relaxed atmosphere and absolutely delicious food from the Keralan pop-up kitchen - highly recommend having a house curry after a few pints! People often mention beers, good, selection, craft, great, beer, order, staff, Bubs,

Great selection of Crafty Devil beers. Staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. Food looks good but not personally tested. Decent prices.. Around a fiver for a pint of good beer.

Good genuine local craft beer, hit this place up to support good local brewers. The food is as good as the brew. I'm returning next time I'm in Cardiff.

Where small bar used to be is now home to Crafty Devil's bar Beezlebubs. Their taphouse is home to a few favourites including Mikey Sauer All Dayer Pale Ale and their dreamy milk stout called Safe As Milk. The guest beers are pretty cool too. I always try and visit when in Cardiff.

Was planning on visiting the NY Deli anyway, when they posted on Instagram that they actually had an agreement with the local bar, Bubs to order Deli food to there so that you could actually sit and eat in comfort and get a drink from them. This was absolutely perfect given a lack of seating now in town due to covid restrictions and some bad weather! Made my way to Bubs on a Tuesday afternoon, perfectly tucked away in Church Street and feels good to support a local too, ignoring the chains next to it. Covid restrictions in place, sanitiser available at the door and you're informed with a sign to wait to be seated. Was greeted by a lovely lady from the bar and I asked for a nice warm seat as it quite nippy and she showed me to a table towards the back of the bar. She asked if I was eating and I said I'd like to order from the Deli. This was fine and they had deli menus on all their tables ready. She explained what I needed to do, to order online and gave me the address to order too with the table number, then explained that to order Bubs drinks that there was a QR code on the table to scan and order table service. All very easy, ordered a non alcoholic IPA and ordered deli food, thinking it would take a good half hour to arrive. To my surprise, the guy from the deli arrived with the hogies within 10 minutes which was great. Hogies were well wrapped up, and was provided with paper plates, cutlery and napkins. The food from the deli was outstanding, known for their huge sandwiches and hogies so I had a 'dinky' hogie and my associate had a regular one. Both NY hogies, and I asked for mine to be made with turkey instead of beef, which was obliged. So tasty, really enjoyed the coleslaw, the turkey was lovely and soft and plenty of it. Overall a great experience, I'll definitely head back, especially in the winter for somewhere nice, cosy and quiet to sit, drink, eat and read a book if you wanted. This review goes hand in hand for both Bubs and NY Deli, both 5 stars for service and food/drinks. Definitely recommend, and you're supporting two wonderful local businesses.

Lovely central Cardiff location with excellent selection of craft drinks. Friendly staff. Decent atmosphere on a wet and windy Sunday evening :-)

My friends go here quite a lot but I've only been the once! Nice atmosphere. Good selection - it was sold to me as a craft beer place which isn't my thing, but there was a good selection of spirits and a hot cider on offer too. More seating upstairs and the ladies toilets were quite jazzy.

A craft beer pub that has a good selection of ales, beers and ciders. The decor is minimal, going for a rustic yet contemporary appearance, but the pub has a welcoming atmosphere and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks on sale. Downstairs is rather small but a larger seating area is available upstairs. If you like trying different craft brews, this place is well worth a visit.

Great beers and live music. Be aware they're still very strict on Covid rules and mask required. A bit odd that you can sit at the bar with no mask but shouted at if standing with no mask. Overall, great place, great beers, but over the top on rules now that law has been relaxed.

Awful, terribly rude staff, pretentious staff, cider that tasted and smelt like dreggs. And again back to the two ladies who worked the bar..... I appreciate you may have had a long shift, but wow, probably the rudest bar staff I've ever come across. I or any of my friends will never return to this bar because of them. Shame, because a great concept for central Cardiff.

Post lockdown Bubs is back at it's best. About 15 or more craft ales well kept.

Great selection of beers and really friendly staff. Prefer Bubs over Brewdog now as much better options.

Great pub, reserved us a table and just as well cos it was packed. Lots of style choices of beer, 4 sours and a couple of really unusual darks. Always a good time here

Fab bar, with the ability to order via scanning a qr code, with speedy service, especially for a Friday night. They offered a wide range of drinks, including some vegan options.

Good choice of beers and a couple of lagers and ciders. Sell the stronger beers in smaller measures than the usual pint/ half sizes.
