Went there for Christmas Day dinner with all the family. Considering there were 10 of us on the table and the pub was full the service was first class. All the food was served at the same time throughout all of the courses and was hot All of the staff gave there full attention to our table providing excellent customer service. Would definitely return.

Table booked for 8 guests, shown promptly to our table. The menu is extensive with so much choice. Something for everyone. once ordered the food came promptly and was hot, a mix of meals but all presented and cooked to perfection, everyone enjoyed their meal and commented how nice it was, deserts were lovely too. Staff were very polite and helpful, the atmosphere was lovely, calm and relaxing, we will certainly recommend the Plough and come back again. Thank you for making our evening one to remember.

Went here last Sunday as I am on a search for a decent Sunday lunch that gives vfm. I would not recommend The Plough to friends as I know that they would be disappointed, like I was at the meagre vegetable portions.A few tiny roast potatoes were hidden beneath two slices of meat. I even had to pay a ยฃ2 supplement for a few pieces of Cauliflower. It would have been nice to be asked if we would like some more vegetables, potatoes or gravy. That kind of gesture elevates an average meal to a meal that I would be happy to have again or to recommend to friends.

Excellent standard of service and much busier than the last two pubs I had been in before. No nonsense polite marshaling of customers due to covid restrictions. Not only can I say that it was "just right" but the best pub in the Village by a landslide.

Visited today. Was absolutely lovely. The best staff, very helpful and friendly. We chose the "Bread of Heaven " starter to share....simply perfect! We couldnt finish it all and had the remainder wrapped to take home. Mains were a Taverners burger for me, and a steak pie for the other half. Gorgeous. Cant fault our experience today. Thank you Plough, we look forward to seeing you again soon!

I've been dining here all week, for lunch. And can honestly say that the staff were all very pleasant and friendly, happy to help....I tried a different meal each day and each one was excellent. Service was excellent and the meals were great value for money. It's a shame I'm only here for the week, as I could have tried other meals in their menu ๐Ÿ˜Š. Next time I'm in Whitchurch, I will definitely be dining here... Thank you to everyone at The Plough. You're doing an amazing job x

Not a bad pub on the Whitchurch main road. Small bar at the front, along with a little snug and at the back seating for the restaurant but the here was not serving on a Friday night, meaning there were big queues at the front bar. Not a great selection of draft beers, Apart from Rev James and the Brains lot, just a Hobgoblin available tonight. Nice atmosphere in there though.

We love coming here! I have had my babyshower and my daughters 1st birthday. Staff are so accommodating, buffet food was delicious! We were waited on hand and foot all day. We also love coming here for food regularly, so much so that we have booked for Christmas Day. Mike and the team are doing a fantastic job. Keep up the good work x

Amazing meal at the Plough tonight. The service from Mike was absolute exemplary and he is the definition of what service should be. Kind, friendly and accommodating, it was a pleasure! Food was stunning and reasonably priced. Great to see it so busy on a Saturday night. This place is the number 1 venue in Whitchurch right now and I can see why, we will be back!

Excellent experience. Food very good and service pleasant, helpful and efficient. I must commend our waitress Janine? who was very pleasant and friendly, but needs to work on her writing as I may have misread her name.

Lovely Sunday lunch with my son & his fiancee. Disappointed that the lamb choice wasn't available but the waitress, Naomi, was genuinely apologetic. Will definitely book again. Staff were busy but all seemed happy & smiling.

We booked the table to go in The Plough for Thursday night. The restaurant is behind you and goes through the pub. Went with my gym friends. We ordered some chicken and chorizo on flatbread, which looked quite nice, and I think it tasted good too. I ordered the same but with Halloumi, although mine was a bit too hard, so I was a little bit disappointed. Could do with the more sauce or something to go with it. The flat bread was really nice and soft. Some of the ladies ordered Gammon with peppercorn sauce, which was delicious. In the end we ordered some desserts which were really nice. One of them ordered the chocolate dome where you pour the hot chocolate, and the covering reveals the dessert inside, which was nice. I ordered apple and cherry crumbed with custard very nice...looked like the custard was made from scratch came out nice and hot and fresh. Some of them ordered the chocolate brownie with ice cream, which was nice, too. In the end, we paid around ยฃ24 each, with the discount one of the ladies had. Overall, it was a good time and experience, but I would like to add that there needs to be more chicken and vegetarian dishes. Not all people eat fish or red meat.

Went at 6pm on a Wednesday so probably not a true reflection of its service. Staff were pleasant, food came out on time. Marstons menu and delivered hot/warm.

Such a lovely experience going for dinner with my family last night- we had exceptional food, with a good range of choice for veggies, and a great selection for kids. The staff were so welcoming and friendly: we were served by Lisa and Michael who took the time to chat to us and were so lovely with the children. We canโ€™t wait to come back again!

Pleasant seating position ie inside but next to opening to beer garden. Good food well presented at a fair price. Very good staff. Manager (? gentleman from Wirral!) exceptionally pleasant and helpful.

Waitress was really friendly. I was torn between Ham Hock and pie so she recommended the Ham Hock which was superb. Another of my party was a little disappointed as the chicken in his salad was dry. Some menu items were unavailable. It was very busy and meals took a little longer than expected but all in all not bad. Nice pint of Guinness too.

Booking on line was easy and straightforward. The welcome was polite, courteous and friendly. The staff were happy and always smiling and interacted well with myself and my 5 guests. The food was tasty and cooked as requested and we were always attended to for drinks and any other needs as requested. Just as we would have wished for and I have already recommended the Plough to other friends.

Hi, Food was excellent. Best Christmas meal of any year and will be back to try a steak in new year. The disappointment was the fact that required all the meal selections ahead of the day. It was 9 person and a baby. The orders come out in a timely manor. Then the same with the mains, but where are the extra cheese roast potatoes that we ordered. Oh after we started our mains they were Will to get them but it would take a further 4 minutes. I explained by that time we would be half through the mains and to cancel that request. My daughter ordered the sea bass if you go and order this I recommend you donโ€™t itโ€™s the smallest piece of fish you would ever sea. My gold fish is larger and for the expense should be a reasonable size or take off menu and provide salmon. My question is if this is all ordered prior to arrival. Why are there parts of the order missing. Computers.? Staff were excellent though I must say.

The food is excellent, a very good standard. The staff are friendly. We've been a few times and sat at different tables, they all feel a bit sticky, seems like the varnish has perished!!

We stopped by on a cold Monday night and weren't too hungry, so we just had a shared starter for 2 with a side salad and side of chilli chips. The food was fresh, tasty, well displayed and filling. Highly recommend. We did not have to wait long and they lit a real fire in the front lounge. Would visit again.

Fantastic Sunday roast with all the trimmings. The food was outstanding and the service we received from Naomi was great, she couldn't do enough for us! We had our toddler with us and he was provided with crayons and a paper menu which kept him entertained during our meal. Over all lovely experience and we will be returning!

A table for 9 booked for Breakfast with Santa. Lovely food, amazing service from staff, especially Naomi who went above and beyond even though some of our party were late arriving. The kids had a lovely time. We came last year too, absolutely lovely morning ๐ŸŽ…

Very slow service, a member of our family had to run after lunch bc he only gad an hours break. Tiny portions. Had sharing nachos, not even enough for one and had to return it as yonder the top layer was just crumbs and couldn't pick it up to eat. The Plough seems to have lost its way at the moment. The staff were apologetic and did take the cost of nachos off our bill.

Awful. I occasionally go to the plough for a drink and it's great. This review is based on its awful service during lunchtimes. Last week, at 12.30pm when it was quiet, there was a catalogue of mistakes. Wrong orders of drinks, slow staff, and run out of chips at 1230 am. I saw the bar staff returning on my way out with a bag full of frozen chips from Iceland as I was leaving.Staff were generally downbeat and the table was sticky. One of the worst services and experiences I have had. It's a shame I have heard the food is great. I wouldn't have had a problem with the shutting the kitchen and saying that for today we are only serving sandwiches and jacket potatoes. They were trying to do too much with too little staff. Despite this it is a great pub and the atmosphere always looks good so I would recommend it. I just think it may have been a down day.

I booked a table with my daughter for 1pm, the service was very poor & slow, we had to ask to put our food order through, and waited over 45minutes for my daughters starter, by this time it was well over an hour waiting for our mains, which still didnโ€™t arrive, there were other tables that had been waiting longer than us for their food with no show, it wasnโ€™t busy in there, just poor management, slow staff, and chef obviously hadnโ€™t prepped the food in advance, in the end we had to leave as Iโ€™m sure it would of been another one hours wait before food arrived. We will not come here again.

I've had two meals at the Plough and enjoyed them both. The staff are lovely, the food has been really nice and for our meals the service was really quick but also the staff were considerate if you wanted time betwen courses. Everyone in the pub seemed to be enjoying themselves too!

We had our daughterโ€™s first birthday party at the venue and the service provided was fantastic. The whole team were friendly and accommodating and the day was enjoyed by all. The buffet tasted great and quality superior to your typical buffet selections. The space provided was comfortable and easy for guests to access the bar and other facilities. Would highly recommend this venue for a range of celebrations. Looking forward to our dinner with them on Christmas Day.

Friendly bar service, good atmosphere, great selection of drinks. Outside space and plenty of indoor seating. Great village pub!

A birthday meal to forget. Very slow service just to get started on a drink. We sat down at 7pm, drinks orders taken at 7.25pm, food order taken at 7.55pm. Didn't eat until 9.25pm and then it was wrong and all brought out at different times so some had finished while others were still waiting. Unapologetic manager blamed the delay on two people having a starter. Reluctant discount given after much haggling. What happened to trying to please the customer. I can guarantee that each one of us (13 people) will tell others about our negative experience. Instead they should have kept up communication and offered something while we were waiting. Poor show. I wish there was a 0 star.

We visited The Plough on 19/04/22. We were served by Cerys, she was very knowledgeable about what was available, I had the soup to start, one of the nicest soups I have had in a long time, and it was recommended by Cerys, a very good choice. Cerys was attentive, cared about the food and our comfort. She came and asked us if we were ok and was there anything else she could do to improve our experience. We would definitely return, and recommend The Plough to family and friends. Well done everyone who made our visit so pleasant.

I give it a 3 stars just for bar staff and taste of food. 1 star for for poor service. We ordered food for one table but 3 separate orders. They brought myself and my nieces food with extras ordered. But no vegetables. Then brought my step son and partners food again with extras but no vegetables. So I waited for awhile for vegetables to come. Then after a bit they came with 3rd orders food. I ask if the dinners come with veg and I got a snooty yes bring it out now. Then a girl gave the veg for myself and niece but not for step son and his partner. I worked in a busy hotel. If you got 3 separate orders for same table you had to let kitchen know this. So all good could be prepared and brought out same time. Very sloppy service. It wasn't packed in there so don't understand what the problem was. Think maybe sorting this out as read it in a few reviews. But food was tasty enough. Shame about service.

Since the reopening we have had very good experiences at The Plough. We had given up on the place before lockdown. Sunday lunches really good & the set menu is value for money too. Yesterday was a visit with friends for just a drinks & was excellent. The management & staff at the Plough have definitely taken a step up from pre covid. Our last 3 visits have been exceptional & one being a birthday party. Last night was no exception ! Long my it continue ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
