This is a really good place which may not be well known as it deserves to be. Good food, portions, service and vibe. Pizza crust was easy on the gums and jaw. Toppings flavoursome (though a little more sausage would have been nice). Chilli oil was volcanic. Gorgonzola mayo was doing well not to pour over the rim of it's pot. Bruschetta was stunning.

We were very nicely attended by Naomi. The pizza is excellent, cooked expertly and perfectly. The bresaola was excellent as well. I was fascinated by the wood oven. Wonderful experience. Recommended!

Great food - the eggplant parmigiana is the best ever! Great Pizzas and wonderful friendly unobtrusive, helpful and accommodating service. I’ve been eating here since they first opened but have been out of the country and so haven’t been for a few years. Thankfully, they’re as good as ever I worried about the chain pizza place opening right next door but the Real Italian Pizza company knocks the socks off them! Highly recommend - and right now they have a buy one get one half price pizza deal.

Having read the many positive reviews I was very much looking forward to my visit, however the experience did not live up to my expectations. The pizzas were incredibly salty, my Peroni (which cost an eye watering £5.80) was warm and flat and a 10% service charge was automatically added to the bill. The pizzas were very expensive at £14 each and I didn’t feel I received value for money. If you’re after a high quality, value for money pizza, try Ffwrnes, just next door in Cardiff market.

Really lovely pizza. We had the funghi pizza and a beautiful salad with mozzarella, dry tomatoes and avocado. Reasonable price and excellent location.

Ordered Vivace pizza, it was really good. The gnocchi I ordered was so so. The drinks with cucumber is really nice and refreshing too!

The Real Italian Pizza Co is fine for Italian food in central Cardiff. There’s plenty of choice on the menu from pizzas, pasta and a few salads. The salads are nice and a welcome healthy option. The pizzas are cooked in wood-fired ovens. I think it’s nicer to be sat downstairs here, by the open kitchen. The upstairs seating area feels a little soulless.

Excellent pizza, great service. Visited at 8 on a Saturday night and was suprised how quiet it was, we were on the second floor and there was only one other table being used. Couldn’t fault it.

The Real Italian restaurant offers a cozy retreat for cold winter days, thanks to the warmth emanating from their authentic pizza oven.I had a delightful experience at The Real Italian restaurant. The Vivace and Bella Vita pizzas were absolutely delicious, arriving promptly within 10 minutes of ordering. The reasonable price of 42 pounds for two pizzas and a garlic butter dip made it even better. The service was excellent, with a friendly touch like having our coke poured by the staff. The only minor downside was that the pizzas arrived unsliced, but overall, it was a fantastic dining experience.

Great food, great service. Turned up at 5:30 on a Saturday night unsure if we would get in and they seated us straight away. The pizza was amazing and definitely worth the money. Highly recommend!

The pizza was really authentic and of a high standard.Wood fired pizza oven. The pizza base was perfect- not too thick or stodgy and the chilly oil was superb- be careful, it's HOT! Very good service to make you're experience even better! I would go again.

Best pizza in town! Little more expensive but they use a fire wood oven 😉

First class pizza made with care from scratch. First class starters too. Excellent wine and a nice quiet spot if such a going exists in Cardiff. Service is nice too. Portions are large. My pizza was quite excellent. As was the antipasti and the tiramisu was homemade and authentic. Service here is helpful and friendly.

A cozy and comfortable place. Nice pizzas wood fired and thin base, not heavy. Staff are friendly and good customer service from Clementina. We had a nice dinner out. Recommend it.

Fab service & good food. Booked a table & ate prior to Beyoncé concert so everywhere was super-busy but didn’t faze them at all. Very handy for Principality Stadium. Will return. Hear good reports of their Bath restaurant too.

Very disappointed with the service and food. We waited for over 20 minutes to order the drinks to start with. The waitress advised we will wait for food around 10-20 minutes but even the starter didn’t show up by then. Long time after we finished the starter I asked her when are we going to get pizzas and she looked surprised as she forgot to make the order for us - there wasn’t apology and her answers were rude. The pizzas itself were burned in many places that were impossible to eat and generally very disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone who has limited time as we ended up not being able to visit much of the town just because we were waiting for pizza ! Also wouldn’t recommend to anyone who is passionate about food as that was extremely low value for money…

Food was outstanding! Service was attentive and comfortable, just a bit of a wait for the food. The venue is very intimate, which on the whole is lovely, but it can feel a bit cramped due to how long you can be sat there for. Most of the above preferences and wouldn’t deter me from returning or recommending.

The service of the food was super quick, it was also really cheap. Best pizza iv had in the uk couldn’t be more pleased

Excellent pizza!! Was even recommended by another Italian restaurant in town :)

Very nice pizza and garlic bread. The olives were huge and really tasty. The service was very friendly. It was a very busy night in Cardiff, so we were very pleased to be able to get a table without a reservation. And it was outside! Beautiful evening.

Very good pizza and friendly service. Prices look fine to me and the service charge nothing unusual, but maybe coming from London we are used differently? However, compared to London the pizza is really good and well cooked with rich topping and small crust. In London you would get a big crust and small topping and that's where you see that the price it's fully worth it. Gluten free pizza option available.

It feels like you are in Italy. Really good food. I would not eat any other pizza's in supermarket or takeaway.

The nicest pizza I have had in Cardiff so far (been here for 4 years)! The staff were very friendly and polite and the food was very fresh and tasty. The parma pizza was amazing and had a good amount of topping. I also particularly enjoyed their in-house chilli oil! Would definitely recommend to a friend.

Incredible evening. Amazing service, decor and food. Date night here went exceptionally. From the outside I was worried it was very small but there's a sequestered upstairs that's extremely comfortable and cosy. The staff were cheerful and welcoming and I felt at home instantly. I ordered one of the most delicious glasses of wine I've had to date with a beautifully rustic, authentic pepperoni pizza. The food was also very affordable given the quality. I feel highly impressed by everything they had to offer and we'll be heading back very soon!

Pizza is made in a wonderful wood fired oven in this lovely place we discovered by chance. Fast, clean and friendly service. The pizza tasted very good!

Four of us turned up at a busy time after being out all day for the rugby. We were seated within 5 minutes and ended up having a pretty good meal. The mixed platter starter was great!

  • 4/5 Niall 2 years ago on Google
Food quality was very good and the server we had was lovely. Can't complain at all there. Only reason for the 1 star off is that we waited over an hour for our food - admittedly it was a busy rugby day, however it was an abnormally long wait for the food we ordered. On a less busy day though I wouldn't hesitate to go back - really great pizzas!

What a gem!!!!! Visited 3 times in 2 days as both my daughter and myself with my wife loved this place. Great fresh food and the waiters and manager doing their best even though they were extremely busy and understaffed!!! Best way to understand how good the food was, is when your fussy eating child clears the whole plate (adult portion). Very reasonable prices too. Will certainly return on our next visit to Cardiff!!!

Very nice place with very good people and very tasty pizza. I like the fact that pizza was cooked in  wood fired oven, ...delicious. Sorry for not having the option to give you more then 5💫

Went there with my sister when I was visiting her in Cardiff, and I must say they have the best Italian pizza I've ever tried in my life. Not to mention that the starter was already big enough to make me full! The waiter (whose name I believe is Jacko) was very attentive and helped me choose the best drink to go well with my pizza, and he made an excellent choice 🤌 The cook Clementina who was in charge of my dinner that night was very friendly and came up to me when I'd finished eating to ask if the pizza was to my liking 😊 I really recommend this pizzeria if you want to eat real Italian pizza in a friendly and welcoming place in Cardiff.
