We had a few starters and some wine here and it was absolutely lovely. The staff were really kind and friendly and I loved their patio; perfect amount of sun and wind so that we didn't feel too hot but also loved people watching too.

Excellent quality and taste. The fish pie and chicken & chips were excellent. Large portion and well cooked. The service was the standout. Very friendly & knowledgeable. Quiet restaurant but a lovely evening dinner Only negative was no souffle available that evening

Not my favourite Cardiff restaurant, I'm afraid. The staff (and service) were superb - no complaints there. I just felt that the restaurant lacked ambiance as the tables were crammed too closely together which made it seem as though we were almost sitting on other peoples laps. The portion sizes were quite small, too, and I didn't find our starters or desserts very flavoursome; though the mains were nice.

Mid shop lunch - very slick. I had beef bourginon W mash. Very tasty. Also more recently went for early start brunch when Wales played Scotland. Had such a good time I forgot to take photos. Staff coped very well W raucous customers and business. Thankyou for a great start to a memorable day.

Such a wonderful restaurant! I went there with some friends for my 21st birthday, and we enjoyed such a tasty meal! The staff was also very nice to us. The only thing i can “complain” about is that we were a tad packed on our table, and the restaurant was so so full! But apart from that, it was a great experience!!!

A nice place to eat, they do a great a la carte deal during the week which should be sampled. I will say very quiet, could've been the day or time of but still no atmosphere. Food is lovely, lots of choice - it came out at an ok time but I do feel service could be a little quicker. The lamps on the tables are also full of dust! Not great when your food and drink are underneath them. My desert didn't arrive, but once raising to the wait staff they voluntarily took it off the bill and had it made quickly for me. Grateful for that! Not sure I'd recommend, and wouldn't rush to go again.

We were a group of 22 and made a reservation prior. We had an area of the restaurant set aside for us. Meals were pre-booked and there were no issues with the quantity of items. They came out in a systematic order. £16.95/£20.95 for the 2-/3-course dinner is really a good deal! Thank you to Bart and his team for waiting on us on the upper floor. A pleasure and delight to have been served by you. Had a smoked salmon fish cake, steak frites, plum clafoutis, and G&T for dinner. Really enjoyed it! Highly recommended!

Quiet place with a lovely atmosphere. The food came quickly and tasted lovely. While yes it can be pricey, it's well worth the money.

Very friendly and helpful staff who really try to make your experience faultless. Food is always amazing..eaten here several times and never had a bad meal. My number one choice in Cardiff Central for meeting work colleagues for an after hours catch up/social night.

Lovely atmosphere our server was fast and attentive but not over the top. French onion soup to start was amazing. Rich tasty and refreshing. I had the brecon seafood and my partner had the fish pie all the food tasted fresh and well seasoned.would definitely go back again.

The Full breakfast was absolutely delicious. Cristina the waitress was the best! She was absolutely lovely, we had a wonderful quick chat and she made us feel really special. The strong americano coffee was so tasty! I’ll definitely recommend it!

In my opinion one of the best restaurant in Cardiff. Excellent decor. Food was very tasty (we ordered sirlion steak with white wine). But the special attention care and friendliness from the manager with mustache who made us feel right at home. He personally came to our table to check if we had everything we wanted and if everything was up to mark. I will definitely come back to Cote Cardiff Central.

A very nice meal. Perfectly cooked steak to order. Great Gluten Free options for my wife and a nice atmosphere. My only quibble is that there are tables next to employee stations which got a bit crowded whilst we were eating our meal.

Went for lunch with some work colleagues. We chose from the main menu but there was also a 3 course menu available for £37.95. Not sure if they do this all the time or whether it is just a Christmas thing. Food was delicious, service was good.

  • 5/5 Russ C. 1 year ago on Google
Staff were really attentive, helped bring and take away food very quickly. Everything came out within minutes of ordering/ finishing the previous course. Price was slightly high, but we are students to be fair. Portion sizes were plentiful with the 3 course Valentine’s Day meal, left very full and very happy. Food: French onion soup was pretty good, nice touch of alcohol. Steak tartare was very nice! Raw meat can seem slightly off putting, but the capers, seasoning, spices, and Tabasco condiments worked really well to mask this. Roast pork was interesting, well cooked, sauce was rich, veg and dauphinois potatoes all very nice! Would have preferred the skin to have been slightly crispier all around. Something different nonetheless, I’m sure it’s perfect if you have more sensitive teeth. Desserts were wonderful, no complaints, loved the salted caramel tart.

Nice food, but a tad pricey. £16.50 for this dish, and a 12.5% service charge was automatically added to the bill. The staff were all nice, though. I did discover that Potato Jus is a posh term for mash.

Came here for breakfast. Everything was dirty, from the table, chairs, lamp, out of shape cutlery and stained napkins. When the food came I was so glad I didn't order! Cold, basic not the best. I'll stick with the Cosy Club!

I used to go to cote two years ago just for the onion soup. I visited this year and i wasn’t disappointed at all. This is still the best french onion soup i’ve had in Cardiff. The restaurant is comfortable. The staff are nice and helpful. The fresh orange juice was refreshing and of course the french onion soup was splendid. Great overall experience.

Had breakfast here to start off our Christmas shopping day. Absolutely gorgeous! Honestly couldn't understand why we were the only people there for breakfast. Definately couldn't understand why Bill's was busy when the breakfast in Cote is sooooooo much better (and warmer, what we asked for and edible, everything Bills wasn't). Staff amazing, place lovely, food wonderful all in all a great start to our day!

My boyfriend and I went to Cote for dinner on valentine's day. Every staff member we came across was incredibly friendly, professional and helpful. The food was delicious! Our bill did include quite a steep service charge but this was optional. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely dine at Cote again.

The interior of the restaurant is very classy, cosy and well presented. The food was absolutely outstanding but unfortunately service staff very unexperienced or very new . The ordering process went very smooth and quick. The food came out in few minutes was fantastic. Each time we wanted additional drinks we had to look for attention as no one was checking if we need anything or if ourmeal are ok . Two of us ordered flat white coffees which were only warm and very weak, more like small size lattes. We asked for them to be changed for stronger we received back the same dirty mugs with only added extra coffee shot in them. At this point we didnt even know which coffee is whos as they been both a bit drinked . All our table was a table hospitality managers and we were truly amazed of poor quality of service in such a nice place . On the end our boss wanted to say thank you and how much we enjoyed the food to the waitress but she basically ingored him with quick and cold " thanks " . Its such a shame as the place look beautiful and we all enjoyed our meals but we won't be back in a hurry due to the service issues .

A chic experience with a super friendly service. Everything was so clean, the drinks and meals we received was absolutely divine! Anyone who is looking for that French feel vibe, must visit this beautiful place 💗

One of the best meals we've had in a long time. We walked in Sunday night and we were lucky to have a table. We were sat by the door and the service and attention to detail was impeccable. Will definitely be coming back again.

Lovely location sat outside. Quality of steak poor, really hard to chew even though it was cooked medium to rare. When asked by a senior member of staff how my meal was and I told him I was disappointed he just said I'm sorry about that and walked off. It seems to me if customers are happy the staff are all smiles but when they are not happy they can't be bothered and don't want to know. We have been to this establishment many times but won't be in a rush to return. Sorry Cotes your customer care let you down.

Honestly couldn't fault anything food was absolutely delicious. Really good gluten free selection as well. Staff are honestly incredible, they are so attentive whilst not loitering over you every second. Very good COVID restrictions, just make sure you book!

Excellent staff and ambience. Our main waiter was I believe named Antonio and he was superb. The food was also impeccable as was the wine and I can honestly think of now fault. Perhaps the steak was a tad too fatty for my taste. Despite this, the whole experience gets a 9 and a half out of 10 for me. ****HIGHLY RECOMMEND****

Had breakfast here with a friend. Was really good food and the restaurant itself had a nice atmosphere. Can't wait to go back for an evening meal.

Clean hygienic, nice atmosphere, very friendly staff, not a great deal of veggie/vegan option.
