My husband and brother tried the Mega Mixed Grill challenging themselves to eat it all. There is a reason it is called Mega this meal fills the table. Great tasting selection of food with friendly professional staff. Recommend booking in advance this place is popular. And no they didn't finish the Mega Mixed Grill.. Maybe another day. I went to the Smoke Haus 4th Feb 2023 before the Wales v Ireland International. We had prebooked weeks in advance and booked for 12.15 pm. The restaurant was full, this popular with groups, couples and families. Four of us today loved the food. We tried the chicken wings, pulled pork with the beef brisket, burgers, onion rings, loaded fries and texan bread. Large servings filled us all quickly. We were not disappointed and still recommend this restaurant, no doubt we will be back. You can tune into the restaurant music system to play your choice of music. The restaurant is wheel chair accessible with wheelchair accessible toilets. Paid parking available in nearby carparks.

Food and drinks were both delicious! Huge serving sizes and at reasonable prices. The staff were lovely and it was all around a great eating experience. We absolutely would return.

Delicious tasty dishes, good customer service, fast chefs and no need to wait forever, pleasant atmosphere. Accessibility to all. Not far to St David's and John Lewis parking. Have toilets inside. Plenty of seating and suitable for romantic atmosphere as well as social bar and restaurant. Good place to watch sport. Prices are very reasonable. I would recommend to anyone who would like to have good experience. Good place to celebrate a birthday and birthday boy was very impressed. We do not mind to visit again soon.

Food is so good, huge portions and decently priced considering where it is. The brisket melt sandwich I had could have been straight out of an American diner, it was stunning! Only issue is the inconsistency of service unfortunately. One member of staff was fantastic, constantly checking we were okay and if we needed anything - she was fab. However the person who showed us to our table and took our order, could not have been more disinterested if he tried. It was almost as if we were an inconvenience to him on his shift.

Absolutely amazing food and drinks I had the mini mix grill and my friend had the standard and they were massive portions 😍😍👌 The food was nice and hot, plenty of flavour and the drinks were great to nice and cold The staff were all friendly, asking how our food was and looked like they enjoyed their job. Would definitely recommend to any meat lover and will definitely return 😍👌

Decent BBQ restaurant in the city centre. Service was friendly and welcoming even the though it was busy. Wings were good and not over coated in sauce. The mixed meat platter was good however as with most smoke houses, the pulled pork and brisket was a little dry. Can’t fault the beer on tap! Overall a good experience and definitely would recommend if you’re looking for a BBQ feast.

Came here for our son's birthday. Wasn't too busy but a nice atmosphere. Food was delicious, a bit sceptical after seeing some reviews but all our meals were hot and very tasty. Beef brisket was absolutely wicked! Tender and really tasty. Southern Comfort burger was a bit of a handful but very nice indeed. Chips could do with more seasoning IMO but they were nice all the same. We were served by Sophie (I think that was her name) who was great. Will definitely come again to try other stuff on the menu. We were all properly full when we left, make sure you turn up hungry! 😁 Thanks for a very pleasant evening 🙌

Myself and my partner wanted to come here from the last time we visited Cardiff but they were fully booked, this time we booked in advance and I was not disappointed! The quality is amazing and the portion sizes are MASSIVE! The diner has a good 80s/90s rock vibe with AC/DC playing, Harley Davidson bikes on show etc etc. It was an awesome atmosphere, would highly recommend. Only thing I would say is make sure you book in advance as they are extremely busy. Hope they franchise to other locations as I loved my meal and would love to go again!

I've only been to Cardiff twice, a couple of years apart to go to concerts. On Both occasions I've headed straight to The Smoke Haus. The first time I thought it was awesome. Brisket, Ribs, Chicken, right up my street. I eagerly returned again a couple of weeks ago. I sad to say second time around the food was not great. The Ribs were well overcooked ,dry and tough and inedible. the brisket was not much better, but at least edible ( but only just) Chicken wings were a little pink so I left them well alone. So I basically paid £22 for a mixed grill and ate half the chips and the pulled pork, which in fairness was very nice. With a little of the brisket. My son had the some as me and was not impressed Hopefully it was just a bad day. But I don't think I would rush back to be honest ,such a shame. On a positive note the staff were great.

Really tasty, so filling couldnt eat it all so have brought half my sandwich home with me. Staff very friendly and food came out the kitchen fast and piping hot. Well worth a visit.

I had the ribs, the sauce was tasty and tangy just a shame the rubs themselves were dry and burnt on the edges. The chips and onion rings were great as was the slaw that came with the ribs.

We booked for a table of 16 for a friend's 30th birthday. The staff were efficient and attentive. All our meals came out together, in a decent amount of time, and there were no issues. Me and my son are vegetarian, so he had a vegan hot dog. And I had the vegan wings, which were too spicy for me, so beware if you're a spice whimp like me. Great choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. A lot of people had burgers, and they were all well received. Huge portions! The only complaint was that the brisket was dry and not very tasty. Another veggie option for a burger would be nice. Bean burgers are very overdone nowadays. The restaurant has lots of cool things to look at and has a great atmosphere. You can choose music too, which is detailed on your table. Overall, I would recommend eating here, especially if you eat meat!

I enjoy it here, good atmosphere and I like the food. Not cheap but not OTT either. Had the Hog Father burger and was very tasty and filling.

My family and I recently had the misfortune of dining at Smokehaus Cardiff and I must say it was an incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment we walked in, I could sense an overall lack of professionalism and attention to detail. Firstly, the service was abysmal. After being handed the menu our assigned wait staff disappeared for ages and came back after 15 minutes to get the orders, then came the long wait, 45 minutes later we were still waiting for food and it's only after my partner complained then 2 out of the 4 mains came out. The lady who served us had no manners at all not only did she slam the plates on the tables she leaned over my partners food to serve my meal. It's common sense when serving customers sat on a booth you start with the customer sat at the farthest of the table to avoid leaning over customers food. After the rude service and still missing 2 mains (for the kids) the same wait staff walked back to the kitchen and we could loudly hear say she was leaving in 5 minutes at that point our pending 2 mains was none of her concern. There and then we sent another waiter to check on our food he apologized for the wait and assured us that he would take one meal off the final bill for the delay which was never the case. The food itself was nothing short of a disaster. The burgers were as dry and hard as the current economy lacking sauce and cheese. The kiddies meal was a disappointment a very sad frankfurter and bun for a hot dog it's laughable. Moreover, the taste was bland and uninspiring. It seemed as if no effort was put into seasoning or balancing flavors. The ingredients used appeared to be of low quality, leaving me with a feeling of regret for spending my hard-earned money on such subpar fare.. Lastly, the prices were exorbitant considering the dismal quality of the food and service. It felt like a complete rip-off to pay such high prices for a meal that was nothing short of a disappointment. The only discount we received for this substandard meal/service was the 2 milkshakes for the kids that was voided. Save yourself the disappointment and find a better dining option elsewhere. Just like that a 15 year olds' birthday was ruined despite us making a reservation way in advance. Best believe I will never be going back there

Have you ever asked yourself if bats ever eat in Bbq restaurants as I sure feel like one whenever I come here. You need sonar location to navigate around here, its just dark. Luckily the food is spectacular here, especially when they showered the pulled pork with the correct amount of bbq sauce and smoke. This place would definitely be recommended by Stevie Wonder as you can’t see but just taste and smell.

Large food portions, you get your moneys worth. Decent prices for Cardiff City centre. Service was fast and staff were friendly.

Came here after visiting Golf Fang next door. I had the Ultimate cheese burger which was great! Two of my friends had the unlimited chicken wings and tried for the record. All of the staff were brilliant, really getting into the challenge and having a laugh. Special thanks to our server John who was an absolute pleasure to be served by. He was very attentive of the table without being over bearing and offered his recommendations and advice for menu items and went out of his way to provide us all with our requests. I'd highly recommend adding Smoke Haus Cardiff to your itinerary on your visit. Five stars.

Better ribs than I got in Texas in March 2023. Smoke Haus ribs have a deep flavor, nice bark, very soft and a nice counter point sauce, lovely.

Food was amazing and only took about 15 minutes to come. Staff were friendly and helpful plus the cost was reasonable. Will definitely be going again.

Nice location and decor, food and beer were decent. I had the baby burtha (pictured) and it was a really good burger, nice soft bun that didn’t make the fillings squeeze out. Also tried the brisket a friend had and it was amazing and smokey. Staff were pleasant enough

In the heart of Cardiff, great place for big portions and quick quality service. I had the dirty burger w fries & slaw was superb. Only thing I didn’t like were the chicken tenders.

The food we had was really good - ribs and the brisket sandwich. Meat was very tender and the sides were tasty, prices reasonable too. I would come back to try other meals. Only reason for dropping a star is the service is a slightly lacking, it seems like all the waiters serve every table so we weren't sure who to ask for things and it took a while to get the bill. I would be back though!

Good place food good and service we good too. You need to try the dough nut chilli burger, it's different but nice. Be warned ⚠️ very messy to eat...... would definitely recommend you visit and I will be returning too

American style restaurant. The staff is polite and fast. I enjoyed the starter plate for two and a burger. Unfortunately the chicken wings were raw inside and didn't taste good.

Great experience at the smoke haus! It's an American style restaurant with a great choice of food, from various type of burgers, to meat, ribs, sandwiches or other dishes! Plenty of choice for every taste! I personally chose the baby pork ribs (full rack) and they were delicious! The service was quick and staff friendly, so absolutely a good experience!

Update August 2022 Move to 5 stars. Music quieter, service EXCELLENT. Metal trays seem to be new and better quality. However seats still uncomfortable if not in a booth. Food Outstanding. Prices really excellent for portion. Wings Wednesday an absolute bargain. March 2022 Warm welcome. Clean tables. Spotless facilities. Lighting a bit too dim amd music too loud if you want to chat with a table if more than 4. Varied menu but not obviously well suited for vegetarians. Service ok. Excellent quality food. Drinks served quickly. Chairs really uncomfortable so not a place to sit long term. Food served on metal trays and trangia's, with no plates which made it feel cheap and difficult to eat. BBQ sauce excellent. Great portion sizes.

Visited for a big family birthday last week and while the food was pretty good, the service was pretty bad. Everything arrived at a decent time (it was a Monday, so not too busy) but literally any request to a certain member of staff was greeted with an eye roll, as if it was too much effort to go and get a spoon. Some of the staff were really helpful but it was clear that some really didn’t want to be there at all.

Not actually sure where to start - Service slow took then nearly 20 mins to come take drinks order the another 20 to bring us a couple of Cokes, Brisket was like trying to eat a bit of shoe leather told the waitress when she came to clear the plates away (as no one came to check everything was alright) and she said she would get it removed from the bill as I couldn't eat any of it but they still tried to charge me for it. I have been to the Swansea one many time with no issues this is the second time to the Cardiff one both time not good but always willing to give somewhere a second change but safe to say there wont be a third time

Food was amazing and totally worth the price, staff were lovely and the service was really quick. The only reason it isn't 5 stars is because I left a note to say it was my husband's birthday and could they acknowledge it/say happy birthday but they didn't. I would still happily go again though, definitely recommend!

THE standard for which all bbq should be measured against. Having been to my fair share of bbq places in search of the best, this is hands down up there, but also my personal favourite. I entered and noticed the lack of smell of smoke, but I was so pleasantly surprised when I dove in. The telltale smoke ring was there, the smoke taste had penetrated the whole cut, it was the real deal. Warm not hot, another easy way to tell authenticity. I would come back just for this. Only downside was the chips were a little lacking for me personally, but the rest more than made up for it.

Since Covid the menu is limited. If you like burgers and hot dogs with a bit of pizzazz then you should be happy, but if you want a wider range if meats then this is no longer available here.

This is a great place, friendly staff, attentive and caring. Good food presentation, large portions. A compliment to the chef. Today as a family we enjoyed the food and the wonderful atmosphere. We will definitely come back to me with friends. Thank very much.

Great place for a meal, not really a family pub/restaurant as I think small children would get bored waiting for food if it was busy, staff were great and very helpful, food was good, only disappointing thing was the dessert, ice cream Sundae, it's just ice cream in a posh glass with squirty cream on top, the ice cream hasn't much flavour and they could of put 1 or 2 fresh strawberries in but that's just my opinion, the burgers were very nice and cooked the way I like them, juicy, chips were ok cooked from frozen, we had a great time and will definitely be going back.....thanks all
