Handy location, with both indoor and outdoor seating on St Mary Street. Helpful, friendly staff. Various varieties of pie, including vegan and vegetarian options. Food of a good standard, and always served quickly with minimal wait as cooked fresh. Always enjoy coming here as well priced, and guaranteed a good pie!

A reliable favourite, with good quality and quick service. Had a long day travelling and the city is rammed with the Autumn National crowds? Never fear, Pies are at hand. You can always rely on the pie ;)

If you like pies, mash, minted mushy peas and gravy this is the place to come. It's sooo good and tasty. Reasonably priced. Quick and efficient.

I recently dined at Pieminister in Cardiff Center and had the pleasure of trying their red wine beef pie. I was thoroughly impressed with the dish. The slow-cooked beef was succulent and perfectly complemented by the rich, full-bodied red wine sauce. The pie was finished off with a flaky, buttery crust that was simply divine. The restaurant itself was welcoming and comfortable, with friendly and attentive staff. The menu offered a range of pies, as well as sides and beverages to choose from. Overall, I would highly recommend the red wine beef pie at Pieminister in Cardiff Center. The blend of flavors and quality ingredients make for a truly satisfying meal. If you're in the area, be sure to give it a go! Well done Pieminister!

Our server was the young man working Tues 9th Nov. His communication was great. He checked in on us regularly and was very attentive. The pies were amazing. Excellent vegetarian and meat options. Everything was so tasty. I highly recommend for hearty pie meals

Great experience. Pies are tasty. Not normally go for the vegan option but the Kevin was delicious! I was greeted by Chloe who was lovely and attentive. Josh took care of my orders and gave excellent customer service. Can't fault the restaurant has a really nice rustic vibe with good music! Also can't beat the 2-4-1 cocktails!! 😁

Pie Hero. Honestly loved this place. I was trying to find a place to eat at in Cardiff that didn't seem imposing to approach. I tried McDonalds and Taco Bell first but they had touch screens to over from which is fine but when the screen is directly vertical it's impossible for me to interface with it due to shoulder issues. I ended up walking out and seeing this place across the road, now I love pies, so I know a good pie when I taste one. Employee was really nice and welcoming, food was delivered fast and it wasn't an overwhelming volume of food, my stomach is tiny and can''t take much. Also the presentation was awesome! Let the food photos speak for themselves honestly and you decide. The one thing to note is the order list is limited, but I usually like this as its a specialty and is usually done better than places with larger menus. The downstairs area was like a secret grotto when I went to use the restrooms, the whole place is very stylish. Expect to spent anywhere from £15 + here.

Went in today to try the food, and wasn't disappointed in the slightest, most amazing food, wonderful portion sizes, and the woman Bron was fantastic, thoughtful, and a good laugh! The young guy who was working called Connor was a good laugh as well. He had a few really good jokes! She took time to chat and have a laugh and a joke with me and my friend who came in with me. Can't wait to come back again!!

We had an absolute awesome waitress who had a cracking pun for every pie. I don't know her name, but props to her. Pie was also good.

What a shame! Ordered a fungi pie, received a steak and kidney. I do not eat steak(religious reasons) called the restaurant the lady ‘blamed’ the Uber driver (even though he had the right bag - had our name on it). How on earth can it be his fault? Surely it’s the kitchen staff...the lady’s words ‘apologies the restaurant is very unorganised’. She apologised but said she cannot refund us or send out anything else!

Ha, think Yorkshire pudding on a pie is a bad idea. Also, not thoroughly impressed by the food quality. Nothing on the plate tasted fresh. Mash and gravy pretty bland and the pie pastry was tough. I have eaten better pies in London albeit a tad more expensive price wise. It was a hearty meal on a cold winter day nonetheless.

We had a really great meal here on a Tuesday lunchtime, would recommend that time if you want it to be quieter, I’d imagine it’s busier at weekends and in evenings, but it was just us and one other table there. The staff were great and food arrived quickly, it was delicious too. There are great options for vegans and vegetarians as well as people who eat meat so it’s easy to please everyone. As a vegan I was a bit worried there wouldn’t be anything but I had a choice of three pies and went for the Kevin which was very tasty. We’ll definitely be back again!

Popped in as I’ve never been to a pie shop before, ordered the steak and ale (Moo I think?) and it was delicious, the gravy really complimented it also. The cloudy lemonade was so refreshing to go with the meal also. Service was awesome! Food was delivered fast which is great. The waiter was very kind and helpful but couldn’t catch their name which was a shame, but can’t wait to go there again. In terms of the atmosphere I can’t really judge as it was quiet when I went in there (which I don’t mind anyway) so I won’t be too harsh on that. Would add photos but absolutely demolished my food because I could post any. Definitely will be going here again!

The food they had was fantastic, they were just missing lots from the menu. The staff explained they had been unusually busy the day before and hadn't had their delivery that day yet (even late in the afternoon) so had few sides and were missing some mains. The staff were friendly and open about the food limitations but only once we were ordering and it was getting late for us to find somewhere else. Will definitely be back though, the food/pie was very tasty!

Really glad we went here while visiting Cardiff. We went because we saw they had some vegan options, and there's no way we could pass up a vegan pie! It was nice and cosy inside. Service was very quick and friendly. We ordered the "this isn't a chicken and bacon pie" and the "mooless-moo". The chicken one was nice, but not great, the texture was a bit off and not as creamy or flavourful as we hoped. But the mooless moo was delicious. We added the "Mother Earth" to one of the pies, so also got some peas, mash and a parsnip & kale fritter. Worth the upgrade as the sides were also very good and filling.

The pies were yummy. The chips were nice and crunchy as I like it. Hubby liked the mint mushy peas.

I had the most wonderful meal at pieminster. The chicken and mushroom pie mothership was absolutely fantastic. Alicia was very helpful, and quite kind. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

As you can see, really good grub! Better than your average pie, service not so great, waiter guy drinking cider by the bar and girl with poor customer service skills, didn't wanna be there, manners questionable 😂

This is a nice place to go for lunch. They have a good selection of pies and an alright drinks selection too. The staff are always great here as well. Good place to stop in town centre for a quick bite to eat

We needed gluten-free options for my wife and we found this restaurant on a spur of the moment. Pieminister was a pleasant surprise, the food was very good and the prices were very reasonable. Service was good and the staff was very pleasant. Looking forward to our next visit there.

Popped in while passing by and stayed for a few hours! Was part of a group of 4. Pies were amazing, service was amazing and food came in good time and hot. We munched down on the food before taking any photos but it was well presented with lots of meat inside. After food we sampled most of the 2 for 1 cocktails available. They were lovely and not overloaded with ice like some cocktail bars. Luckily took a pic of some of the rounds 🙂

We were there for dinner an hour before the Rammstein concert at the principality stadium- service was fairly quick, and there was a table for us. Server was very polite and accommodating. Food was piping hot and many options to choose from in terms of both pies and sides. Plenty of vegetarian options to choose from. Price was good for the amount of food we got and the quality. Atmosphere was cosy.

Great pies, great value and great service! Image is of the Kate and Sidney, topped with cheddar and crisp onions and a side if fries. Gravy was bottomless on the "it's all gravy" deal, all for £11, £1 going to charity.

Best pie I've ever had! Pies are smaller than you'd expect, but paired with a hefty portion of fries, gravy and mushy peas it really hits the spot. Comfort food done well without breaking the bank.

If you're looking for something a bit different then this place is great. You might think eating out in a pie place sounds a bit "heavy" but the pies are actually quite small. All of the food is quite small. Prices for food are reasonable though and the quality is really nice although drinks prices are about average for a restaurant . Service is excellent. We had a friend with us that turned up late and was a little flustered and I felt they came across as a little rude to the staff but they still went out of their way for her and were great (I did call her out on it btw). They have a decent range, from fancy stuff I wouldn't personally go for, to your normal steak and kidney etc. There's veggie and gluten free stuff too. They were out of rosemary fries on the day I went which was devastating but forgivable I guess. The atmosphere was nice, there was a large rowdy group but they were put out of the way downstairs. Toilets were great. All separate standalone gender non specific toilets instead of male and female communal bodily function spaces. Love this place.

A fantastic place to get food. I'm honestly not much of a pie person but this place has definitely changed my opinion! The food was gorgeous, served quickly (despite our large group size), and our servers were great at helping us out and were super nice and friendly. Would highly recommend.

Really great pies with beautiful sides. Quick service and reasonable prices. Visited this place in Cardiff years ago on a mates stag do, and when I went back with my wife a few weeks ago, I had to take her. She's American and loved the "Britishness" of this place and loved her vegetarian pie. Strongly recommend going here!

Bad experience..unhelpful staff.. was left standing in the doorway while the waitresses finished their conversation and the restaurant was empty!! Was told I couldn't have a menu and had to order online..completely unlike my excellent experience in Pieminister in Leeds.

Been wanting to go for ages but eventually went and it was so worth it! Really reasonably priced, delicious pies (with perfect pastry) with meat, veggie and vegan options available. Good selection of sides and lovely desserts too. I'll be coming back again for sure

Loved the pies we had. Me and my partner at the beef and stilton pie with smokey beans and mash and was lovely! The prices were great and the staff were very friendly too - totally reccomend!

Came last night with friends - first pie ordered sold out (wasn’t told before ordering but all fine), ordered a different pie. 15 mins later waiter comes and tells me that they’ve sold out of that one too. Order for the third time and we wait 45 mins then take the food to go. Get home to find out they’ve given me the wrong pie having ordered THREE times, giving me steak and Stilton - I can’t eat cheese so complete waste of money. sides were absolutely horrendous, chip portions tiny and soggy. Will never go back.

Fine. Just fine. Nothing amazing, but not bad. The team are nice enough, the place could be a little cleaner, the food was alright. Didn't mind it once, unlikely to be returning. A perfectly fine choice if you've no other ideas and just wanna eat something. The cloudy lemonade was pretty nice.

Great pie shop, good range of food (with gluten free options) and drink. Good service - we were squeezed in even though we didn't have a reservation on a Saturday night. Pieminister Merch available for the fans. Very reasonable prices and food was very tasty and filling!
