This Bella italia was not so busy loads of places to sit so we had a large selection of choice. Meal was lovely that staff were very accommodating!! The parking is free but enter your ref in the computer so the ANPR register you as a patron on the way out. I really liked this restaurant more than the others due to quiet location.

Really enjoyed the food here. Typical Italian menu great range of Pasta and Pizza dishes with steak and fish to choose as well. First class sercice we weren't rushed at all. Had a lot of help regarding our sons peanut allergy which made choosing his meal really easy.

3 stars for nice! Good sizes, tasty fries, pizzas were real Italian, not American. I liked it. Not on my favourites list but an option.

Slow service and cold food. The waitress was kind but rarely checked in on us. When we asked for a dessert menu, we were left waiting for 20 minutes. Unfortunately, we had the same issue when waiting for the bill. I had to ask another member of staff as it seemed we had been forgotten. Although I understand that there are staff shortages, this was not a busy night and two waiters could have easily dealt with the amount of customers. I ordered the Carne Mista pizza as the meat feast was out of stock. I wasn't sure if the pizza base was frozen as it was stiff and frankly, hard to chew. We ordered the "Warm" Cookie dough for dessert. I was disappointed to find that the ice cream had ice bits in it and tasted more like a snow cone than Italian gelato as promised. Furthermore, the Cookie dough was cold and firm without the promised melted chocolate in the middle and the caramel sauce was not warm and looked almost congealed on top. I've never had any issues with Bella Italia and hope to see these issues worked on for the future.

Lovely surroundings with friendly and knowledgeable staff. A great choice of food on the menu too. Great social distancing provisions in a clean and fresh restaurant. The food and value were fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant when you're in the Cardiff Bay area.

Well, we were bought a groupon voucher for my wifes birthday..I have to say wow...the meal was outstanding, the best lasagne I have ever tasted. The staff were amazing, friendly and polite..nothing was too much trouble. The dessert was stunning too. Of you ever want to go out for a delicious Italian meal you wont go far wrong by going to Bella Italia. Well done all.

Wonderful meal, friendly staff, pre-theatre dinner. Crodino mocktail, mushroom crostini, meatballs, vegetarian pizza, papadelle cacciatore, tiramisu and chocolate/salted caramel/mango sorbet. Delicious! These meals are from the two or three course set menu offer.

Booked table as suggested. Placed order waited over 45 minutes. No starters arrived. Four other tables arrived they get serviced. We were completely ignored and forgotten about. Would not recommend.

Only reason we ate the food was because we were hungry and in a rush. Pasta dishes were terrible! Pollo Funghi had no chicken in it at all. In fairness to the manager, he did refund one of the dishes and I would recommend the Caramelised onion sharing bread.

Food was overcooked - never eaten crispy calamari before! Mains not brilliant either and please don't start me on the disgusting state of the toilets. Given a 1 star rating because the company was good.

What a joke! Asked no mushrooms in our Palla Funghi, only to be told its already in the sauce (means that the food is already prepared). Ordered Calamari Fritti (£4.95) served 5 tiny pieces.

Booked for 2 people. Service was very quick, however my main meal was cold and sent back. My husband's meal looked like it had been sitting for a while and microwaved. All in all not what we have usually experienced at Bella Italia. Wouldn't go back there to eat.

I loved the hospitality of Bella Italia Cardiff bay. The service was quite quick. The staff helped me with the vegetarian options available. The spaghetti Bolognese, the queen margarita pizza were great. The kids menu was really liked. The taste of the dishes were very good. The side of cauliflower wings was quite different and good. Overall a very positive experience.

Very very very good service. Food was lovely but the staff made the evening, especially our Italian server (I didn't catch your name - sorry!), who was very friendly, warm, and helpful. I'm so sorry we couldn't leave a decent tip! Would highly recommend this branch.

The staff were amazing and the food was lovely. Very accomodating to children with a very simple format for children to understand what food they are getting.

Had the BEST birthday lunch today. The service was first class. Our waitress ( the blonde lady ) organised a table for us despite the fact that they were very busy. The food was excellent & we would definitely recommend & will visit again.

Usually avoid Bella Italia like plague, but we were really hungry and couldn't find anything nearer to where we were staying. Booked online but waited, along with another group, for about 10 mins manager to come to door, despite only about 3 small groups inside! We ate the food (hungry) but it wasn't nice. Except for pine nuts (not fresh pasta, (nor sauce? or poor chef?). At least my homemade pesto tastes of basil etc. Waitress was attentive. Oddly, we noticed that we, along with all other customers of colour & an LBGT couple, were seated in a raised floor area on one side of restaurant and all white couples/groups were seated in the main floor on opposite side restaurant. Not a problem for us, but not the "cardiff" that I know..

Always receive great service from a lovely waiter who I believe has worked here for a while! Unfortunately, there's a few things that let this place down slightly. The food can be a bit hit and miss, and I've noticed that the drinks are now a bit pricey! Apart from that, there's often offers and good set menus to choose from! 😊

Ate here this evening with my Son. Friendly staff, attentive and helpful. We ordered mushroom crostini, which was delicious and a gluten free garlic and mozzarella flatbread for starters. I ordered a chicken burger for mains and my Son ordered gluten free carbonara. He enjoyed his. Unfortunately my order had been taken down incorrectly so I was given a gluten free cheeseburger. I informed the waitress about the mistake (it wasnt her who had taken our order) she was very apologetic and after a short wait, she brought my chicken burger out to me, which was very nice. As a goodwill gesture, they did not charge me for my burger, and gave me a free drink on the house, which I appreciated. I've not experienced any problems like this when we've eaten at Bella Italia restaurants before, so I won't let this put me off from eating here again.

Lovely food. Good value. Swift, polite and friendly service. Nut allergy NOT considered in the dessert menu, but other courses have allergy aware dishes, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. I would highly recommend.

My party of 5 came in at 4;30 for a birthday celebration/pre show lunch had 2 bottles of Prosecco and a fair few cocktails . The amount of food you get per dish is enough to feed 2 people I’m a big eater so for me that was brilliant only down side is there wasn’t any room of desserts as we were to full. Ivett our server was every attentive and made the night that much better would definitely recommend
