I've always enjoyed visiting Casanova, but it's been a while and boy have they your their game! The food was absolutely stunning. I had the carpaccio to start, with aged parmesan. Then loin of veal for main, while my wife had the seafood pasta, we shared an excellent cheese board and a rich chocolate mousse. Friendly service and plenty of info about the dishes if you wanted it. Great place for a relaxed evening of good food and wine.

The food here is spectacular. Loved the sauce👌 I’m glad I stopped here before heading back to London. Tiny bit expensive drinks😭 I’ll visit again next time I’m in Cardiff and maybe order a whole bottle instead of a glass of wine.

They accommodated us without reservation. Small Italian restaurant. Crowded and noisy sometimes. Set menu with very good quality food. Slow cooked Welsh lamb is a must. The manager didn't visit our table and wasn't very talkative, even basic greetings. His colleague compensated everything. She gave us the best service. Anyway, if you like fine Italian cuisine, you should not miss it.

The best Italian restaurant in the UK. The facts speak for themselves: a Michelin starred restaurant serving the best Italian food and wines. You'll enjoy every single minute of this amazing experience. Highly recommended.

I cannot reccomend this little gem enough. The goats cheese starter was fabulous, the rabbit and risotto divine. Service was awesome and follow that with a cannoli that was fresh as anything, you can't go wrong here. Wife had the goat ragu and that was equally as good. It's a lovely little space with attentive and chatty staff and the food was perfect. Will be heading back here again for sure. P.s. don't let my terrible photo put you off!

The flavours in the dishes here will blow your mind, I had the squid ink risotto and it was just amazing! An unassuming-looking side-street restaurant that punches well above its weight!

Some of the best food I've ever had, with fantastic, warm service! I had the goat's cheese and beetroot starter, the amazing lamb main, and a divine cannoli dessert. We turned up without a booking, quite late on a Saturday, and are really grateful to get a table: made a birthday celebration extra special. Thank you!

Maybe I'm a little harsh - it was mostly excellent. I just wanted a little more. Perhaps some more nicely done veg on the side of the main dishes. Or more options than the house wine to drink by the glass. But the food we ate was very good. Nice crostini to start and the ragu as a main also very good too.

It used to be so good, food, service, everything was 10/10, but last time I visited, the 3 of us all had different starts and mains, none of them was good, which was super expected as it was my favorite restaurant, every dish used to be amazing. Serve wasn’t as good as before either. (Last time I visited was a few months ago, don’t know what happened there)

We have visited Casanova many times over the years. It's a little under the radar but food, wine and service is always second to none. Well worth a visit.

Been eating at Casanovas for over 10 years, still the best and most sophisticated food in Cardiff paired with charming none pretentious service. One of the city’s best kept secrets, please don’t tell anyone it’s only tiny. ( where the specials are special)

Fantastic food and service. Went in for a 3 course lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The food is amazing. Simple, tasty and very well executed. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I wish I lived closer. Would go every week. First class.

Superb little Italian place, quiet when we went. The food is delicious and while service is a very leisurely pace, it is friendly. The bread is best eaten with the olive oil alone, as the oil is full of rich flavour and is apparently sourced from Italy. The risotto was deliciously seasoned and covered generously with summer truffle. Very rich and thoroughly enjoyable. The main was a slow cooked ragu - when the pasta is cooked al dente and the meat is tender and soft, you know it's been done right.

Absolutely fantastic evening here. The four of us had a good range of meals and each one was cooked to perfection and presented brilliantly. Nothing was too much to accommodate from the staff and we were well looked after throughout the evening. Will 100% be booking back at the earliest opportunity

Went on Valentine's day, the boss treated us with a warm welcoming and nice food. Although the main course delayed for half an hour, he compensated with a platter of prosciutto and cheese. The tiramisu was extraordinary good and recommend.

Restaurant foreplay is checking the menu before even setting foot in the establishment. To my surprise, that was a waste of time here as they had a better Christmas menu! Ragu was amazing but the cremoso! Heavy dark chocolatey with the ice cream and the peanuts, it did not disappoint. It was that good I might even invite my real dad here after disappearing for 20 years to apparently ‘get some milk from the shop.’

Beautiful small Italian restaurant in the city centre. Service was flawless from start to finish and the food was phenomenal. I have never had a specials list explained with such passion and detail, a perfect meal.

Poor service from the moment we walked in the door. There was only 1 waiter doing everything front of house and to say he was overstretched is an understatement. Specials weren't offered to us which was gutting as I would have had the risotto in a flash. Disappointed the starters were served chilled. Mains however were delicious! Would highly recommend the pork with chorizo mash. Nice enough but I wouldn't rush to return.

We’ve known about Casanova from our neighbours who have been coming regularly for many years, but this was the first time we tried it. We went for Saturday lunch. The restaurant was busy and clearly has a large number of loyal, regular customers. The food and service were brilliant. The menu is not extensive but is interesting and not like your typical pasta/pizza Italian menu. There were also lovely daily specials on offer. I had the black pudding starter followed by calf liver with Parmesan mash and red cabbage. These were two of the best courses I’ve had in a long time. My wife had sardines for starters followed by beef Ragu. We were both more than satisfied. Casanova also has an excellent selection of Italian wines. We will definitely be back soon.

Called in today on the off chance they had a table and we were so lucky they did! They were very accomodating making room for baby in pushchair and very accomodating for us and our baby. The food was absolutely stunning and it has topped our list for our favourite place in Cardiff to eat. Would highly recommend, we had 3 courses and it was fantastic value for money.

The perfect restaurant for my wife's 40th. We have travelled to Italy many times and tasted food from across the country. The tasting menu was like taking a trip back through those many holidays over our years together. Each course reminded us of a different memory. Thank you.

From the outside this place may look a bit like a cheap cafe but it is far from that. Food was freshly cooked and tasted devine. Service was superb and the waiters knowledge of the menu was excellent. We asked for his wine recommendation and he produced the perfect bottle. There were four of us eating and every single plate went back empty. Would recommend you book as this place is popular.
