We went here for a date night a few weeks ago, we left it last minute to book but they managed to squeeze us in! The place is super authentic and a lovely building - it feels like you are not in Pontcanna. Very accommodating to vegans, food is also reasonably priced for this area.

Me and my boyfriend went there to celebrate our anniversary on a Wednesday. No other guests were there maybe because it was the middle of the week. The place was good, food not so much. Service was quick ,obviously because we’re the only ones there.

Incredibly cheap £10 for adult Spag Bol etc. 8 of us had a variety of meals, including pizza, pasta. I had lemon garlic seabass with rosemary potatoes £16, which was a very decent portion. Very friendly local restaurant that we need to look after and make sure they survive these tough times. 💪

Quiet Thursday night, didn't book, just turned up and no problems. Good food - pizza was very good. Really affordable.

Edit: Just been back after two years and it is still the wonderful place for the perfect dinner. Come here for your date night and every time you feel you need a treat. Take your time to choose from the menu and daily specials and treat yourself. Previous experience : Wonderful place to have a literally perfect dinner. Welcoming and inviting, feels like coming home.

did a booking online (via google maps app). Turned up at 6.30 on Saturday night and he didn't have the booking but did have a table outside he could put us on. I asked for gnocchi and a side salad. The food and service were both amazing.

Lovely small restaurant that was very welcoming and spotlessly clean. Good choice of meals and drinks. Good table service and the meals arrived quickly and were just as described. We had the chicken but it doesn't come with anything so you do have to order extra sides. We had Sautéed potatoes very nice! Definitely look forward to going back.

The atmosphere, service, and food are great! We got the tasting menu with the wine pairing. It's ALOT of money to spend on not a lot of food. However, the long tasting menu is the way to go, and if you do drink, the wine pairings were excellent. I can say, we didn't leave hungry despite the small tasters, most likely because of how many there are! And how good they taste! and there was ample time to enjoy the bits of food and drinks and have a lovely chat.

Absolutely amazing experience in this snug yet sophisticated Italian restaurant. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, checking in on us and how we were finding the meal. Food and service was to a high standard and we loved the furnishings of the restaurant, particularly the walls. A truly authentic experience at an affordable price. I recommend it to anyone in the area.

We had a wonderful birthday meal last night here. Lovely people and absolutely fantastic food. We don’t remember ever having Italian food of that quality in Cardiff before.

Amazing atmosphere, food and wine. The small meal options are such a good idea as we tried 4/5 different meals and enjoyed the variety. The staff are so polite, friendly and professional Stefano is welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

I called to book a table and was greeted on the phone with an abrupt ‘Hello’. This should have been an indication not to bother, but nevertheless, we booked a table. We were aware that it was a Saturday evening so was expecting it to be busy, however they said they had availability. When we arrived, we were crammed into the restaurant with hardly any space. We were then offered some drinks and then waited 20 minutes without anybody engaging with us. There was a large party in the restaurant so we understood that staff were busy, but felt it would have been appropriate to let us know that somebody would be with us shortly instead of letting us just sit there. After 20 minutes of being ignored, we decided to leave as there was no indication someone would be over to take our order any time soon. When we decided to leave, I explained to the lady at the front desk, who I presume was the same person who answered the phone abruptly, that we were going to pay for our drinks and leave because we had been sitting there for ages. She responded, ‘yeah well we’re very busy’ instead of apologising. Another waiter (could possibly be the manager but unsure) approached us and again did not offer an apology, making out that we were being unreasonable which I do not feel was the case. If they were too busy to accommodate us, they should not have taken our booking! To top it all off, 2 diet cokes cost us over £8 which is just ludicrous. Couldn’t comment on the food, because we didn’t get that far! Do not recommend!

It would have been amazing if not for rude service we got on my birthday! Should I say celebration was ruined after. I have booked a table - firstly they couldn't find the booking in forever, rudely said to me "well it doesn't look like you booked does it?". Then they tried to make us sit outside. Again, very cold outside, and I understand the inside tables are for reservations- but then let's find it. OK, after I looked through their reservation book, I found my name and with a sight from the waiter (there was honestly no need for that!) we proceeded to the table. I also asked whether we could order a little bit now, and a bit later - and I was told "no, as imagine if everyone does it". Well, if you think I am a fortune teller and would know how feeling the starter is (cause in some places they are massive) you are wrong. After that, tbh, I was about to stand up and leave, but felt not appropriate to behave like this for my guests. Thus we had the main course (not bad, but nothing special), and left without a dessert as I was just not feeling like I am welcomed there.

Came here for a work Christmas lunch 19 of us. Delicious food and great friendly service with a smile.

A superb authentic Italian restaurant. Loved it here. Last night was the first time we’ve been there ( table of 5 ) Such a great atmosphere, all food is homemade and superb, a proper taste of Italy. The restaurant has a lovely charm and style of its own. Lovely staff who make sure you’re well looked after. Thank you Stefano’s, we’ll be back for more soon.

Love the deco in this restaurant, small but classy restaurant. Staff were friendly and checked in on us throughout the evening. Food was lovely, a long time waiting between the starter and main course but didn't spoil the evening. Will be visiting again x

5 of us had a great meal here last weekend. The service was fab and they catered easily to the gluten free in our party. The food was all delicious and really well priced. Can’t wait to come again!

This has been one of the best experiences for me and my partner for a nice little date all the staff were super helpful and lovely. They were incredibly accommodating and cannot recommend enough if you love good food and good atmosphere come here.
