A nice place in the centre of the city to sit and eat. Reasonably priced menu with a good choice. I had the chicken burger with sweet potato fries followed by sticky toffee pudding served with salted caramel ice cream. Service was very good, waiter was efficient but friendly. Will go again for sure.

Have you ever walked into somewhere and instantly been made to feel unwelcome? Well that's Café Rouge in Cardiff when my partner and I were made to feel extremely unwelcome and like we were being told off by, I can only assume, the manager (some fella that acted like he's running a sophisticated airport cocktail lounge). The man that greeted us was rude, arrogant and dismissive (but a delight to all other customers around us). And as for the food, a very overpriced vegan breakfast was served to us that had bland mushrooms, dry toast, avocado that had been preserved in lemon rather than made fresh and a sweetcorn fritter that was so dry that if it had chocolate chips in, I'd believe was a cookie. Would not recommend.

Ordered eggs Benedict. Terrible presentation, and the salmon looked gross and black in some parts (poor quality food, so don’t spend too much if you go there). But lovely staff and good portions.

Scrambled egg with toast and beans on the side, toast was perfectly done. Crispy on the outside soft on the inside. Scrambled eggs also had a perfect consistency not wet not dry just right. Eggs Benedict was also perfect and my wife really enjoyed it. he did every scrap. Teas and coffees reserve promptly on sitting down. also, service was polite and enjoyable. Ricco fun guy

It was very busy, and even though we were told we'd have to wait 30 to 45 mins for food, we were seated, an order was taken, and food arrived within 30 minutes. Really good variety of breakfast meals. Breakfast was lovely, freshly cooked, and great quality.

Had the french onion soup and the chicken caeser salad, both were great!

I love coming here to eat. My only preference would be to have more meat free options on the menu. There now a lift up to their toilets which is wheelchair accessible.

Great food, as always. Our waitress was unsure about the use of a taste card on their lunch items. I explained that we had used it multiple times on the lunch items but not the set menu pricing. The waitress made a deal of the situation and said we could see if it worked at the end as she did not think it would work. I asked her to check first, and as it had before worked fine. She didn't seem to be happy about being wrong. This made the situation feel a little awkward. However, the French onion soup and Croque Madame were fantastic.

We had a gift voucher from our daughter for afternoon tea. It was great idea. We had a plenty of food for two of us. Was variety of small baguette with cheese, ham and pate (could be add it a little bit of tomatoe, cucumber or some chutney) 4 variety of small cakes, unlimited tea or coffee. It was nice presented platter. Overall good experience. Very nice staff, very pleasent and friendly, quick service. I'll highly recommend it if you are visiting St. David's shopping centre in Cardiff.

Me and my Husband have been going here for a few years, and noticed last year and this year its gone down hill, we always enjoyed this place, but staff seem not bothered anymore , food quality ain't the same, we went there today, and seated, ordered coffee, and then 10 minutes later ordered food, waited 55 minutes in total, then was told they had run out of items, food was warm not hot, cleanness wasn't up to scratch. It's a shame, really, as we won't be going back to this place. It's time to find a better place.

Had lunch with wife on a shopping trip. Service and staff were faultless. Quickly seated and order taken. No sooner had our drinks arrived our food was quickly served. Lovely food at very reasonable prices. Wife particularly enjoyed the passionfruit martini. Desserts were well portioned too. Staff friendly and efficient.

Tasty food, nice and good service. The only thing that was bad was the old grease on which the baby's fish was spread.

Fantastic food, a warm and friendly welcome by the very knowledgeable restaurant staff. The food was exceptional, great portions, cooked well with wonderful presentation. I've already booked a family birthday here based on the previous experience. We'll definitely be visiting here in a regular basis. Highly recommended.

Met here for food before a concert last night. They were very friendly and welcoming as usual. We had the chicken burger which was really delicious, and the side salad lovely and fresh. Had a few dietary issues, and they gave us good advice so was a great meal all in all. Will be back soon.

Had lunch at this Cafe Rouge a few weeks ago. Staff were really friendly and the service was excellent. The best toastie (croque madame) I've ever had, delicious! Lovely menu of Parisian inspired food with lots of choices. Would happily visit again!

Got a Groupon Voucher for Café Rogue and loved every minute of our 3 course meal. The food was tasty and great value for money. Service was top notch but the drinks were a bit over priced. Loved all of it. Bravo Café Rogue St David's.

Beautiful breakfast. Husband had a traditional breakfast and I had pancakes with bacon, banana and maple syrup. Very tasty. Lovely surroundings and good price. Will definitely visit again.

Never had a bad meal, usually use tesco vouchers or buyagift.

Had the afternoon tea in Café Rogue and it was lovely. Great little selection of mini baguettes and tarts. The staff were really friendly and helpful too.

Food was amazing - the best meal out I’ve had for a long time. Good sized portions without being overwhelming, and just the right amount of everything. Excellent choice of food and drinks with friendly and attentive staff. They were very good with allergy requirements and ensured I was happy and comfortable. Toilets were nice and tidy, as was the whole restaurant. Will definitely go again.

Booked an early meal as going to a concert for 7. Staff were very friendly but service incredibly slow. We ordered our drinks and after a wait of 10 minutes received them and ordered from the set menu. The garlic mushrooms were tasty but almost cold. After another 30 minutes our main arrived. Neither were piping hit and my mushroom risotto was only just warm, devoid of mushrooms and tasteless. To be fair we were not charged as we believe the staff realised how awful this meal was. The only time I leave reviews is to leave a good one, but this was the exception

Came in for wedding anniversary. Staff was amazing, looked after as so well and gave us complimentary drinks which made our visit even more special. Food was delicious and piping hot. Highly recommend, will definitely come back soon.

We had the Breakfast menu. We ordered 2 cooked Breakfasts &(2lattes), they were just ok. The breakfast could have had some more beans. My daughter had the salmon & Avacado on toast(& Babycino) , which she thoroughly enjoyed. The service from the staff is brilliant and fast. The only thing I would say is if your on a budget, this place is expensive. Our bill was £40 odd pound. It was a nice treat, couldn't make a habit of it at their prices.

As always a warm welcome and good service. Food was piping hot, delicious and good portion size. Wine was very well chilled - which is a rare thing these days. Only disappointment was a few dishes off the menu that day. Would recommend and will definitely return.

I love this place! Only... the dissapointing thing was that the salmon I had today ,although was pretty nice, it looked and tasted like it was cooked couple of days ago, and then been kept frozen and then defrosted, warmed up a bit and finally presented me .. :/ I can only imagine how wonderful it was when It was freshly cooked.. Very dissapointed today..

It's ok but in my opinion nothing special. I think the atmosphere is pretty poor as it's in a barn of a shopping centre. Other branches I have been in have more of a French restaurant feel. Food is OK although it's quite expensive for what you get.

Service here was good. Decent selection of food at slightly more expensive than your average shopping centre eatery. But better quality so we allow that. Steak was cooked exactly as I asked. Diamond in the rough rough rough 🤣

Popped in for a mid-morning breakfast on a Sunday. We hadn't booked but they were able to find us a table immediately. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was fresh and reasonably priced.
