I have been buying takeaways from here for over 30 years. I've tried other Indian takeaways since but never as good quality. I currently travel from Mountain Ash to buy, I can thoroughly recommend the lamb madras with onion salad, lamb spinach balti and chicken bhuna. The staff are always polite, the food is very competitively priced, the portions generous and the hygiene rating is excellent.

1st time ordering after seeing their 5 star food rating posted on their door. So v pleased to find a quality Indian. Chap taking the order is a delight to speak with. Well done.

Very nice curry's wouldn't order curry anywhere else

Received order extremely quick,was piping hot unfortunately the meat curry was thrown away as it had a weird twang to it not sure why but it didn’t taste good,also the pricing of the food is particularly expensive nearly a tenner for meat curry?stale poppadoms!wont be ordering again,just spent £20 and still hungry,thanks standard for wasting my money on awful food

Gave an estimated delivery time of 20.15 to 20.35. Tried ringing them 15 times with no answer until 9pm when I gave up. Went to the kfc drive through instead. Came home and they tried to deliver at 21.35, well over 2 hours after I ordered! I refused it as my wife was in bed and I had already eaten. Expect my money back as they made no effort to contact me. A shame, as I have previously enjoyed food from there!

Late order with 'Standard' for Valentines day with the Mrs turned out to be the best Korma i had in a few years. To top it off they wasn't shy putting a decent amount of chicken in it like a lot of other places i've been too (mowgli aka nadia) and the Peshwari Nan was'nt burnt or falling apart. The guy who took my order was friendly and even blessed us with a few extra pappadoms and advised us what we should order next time we come. Thankyou for putting my faith back in takeaways.

I was very happy that I try their tikka munch box. I absolutely love chicken tikka and Nan bread so I instantly ordered that 👌. Tikka munch box £10.95 Add a drink £1 I opened the munchie box and instantly thought 💭 wow 🤩 It looked absolutely amazing. The tikka had been stir fried in the pan with onions 🧅, peppers 🫑, coriander 🌿 and other spices. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the amount of flavour was unreal 👊. The chips 🍟 were delicious and the Nan bread was done to my liking. It wasn’t burnt and soaked up all the juices towards the end. I obviously made a little wrap at end 😂. I washed it down with a freezing cold 🥶 can of coke 👌. I really was surprised about how good the munchie box was and I instantly thought I want to come back and try more on the menu. I highly recommend this place if you’re passing by or live in the local area. They do collection and delivery service 🚚. Well done for getting over 10,000 orders on just eat…that’s awesome 🤩.

Picked up a takeaway from here tonight as my regular Indian is closed. The food was hot and tasty, I will be back as long as they keep the 20% orders over £20

Great takeaway. It is our go to for Indian food in Cardiff. Good selection of unique/special curries, as well as the standards you'd expect at a takeaway in Britain. They have a good website you can use to order so you aren't paying fees to deliveroo or uber. If you collect, you can almost always get your food in around 30 minutes.

Often order a takeaway from Standard Balti on a Friday night. However, last night my meal (Chicken Biryani with chips) was very under rated and of poor quality. The rice and chicken was very dry. The chicken was very hard like it had been reheated in a microwave and over done. The. chips also gave me the impression they’d been reheated in a microwave as well. The sauce came in a aluminium container and was only half full. Making the meal even drier. If I was to asked to rate it out of 10, I’d have to give it a low 3. Sorry Standard Balti, you’ve got to up your game on quality otherwise you’ve lost this regular customer.
