This premier inn is great lovely room had an amazing sleep and for a hotel the shower was great. It’s really close to the city centre easily walkable. Plenty of parking which is free.

It definitely needs a freshen up. Paintwork is damaged and there were signs of mould in my bathroom. I would also say that you should reconsider staying here if it's 23/24 degrees plus - the rooms get extremely hot. Bed was comfortable, shower was good and it was in a fairly quiet area. I wouldn't bother with the continental breakfast, isn't really value for money as it's not a buffet style

I have visited various Premier Inns all over the country, and this was middle of the pack. The staff at front desk and the associated restaurant next door are all friendly and the food is as expected, but the room felt a bit run down and not up to the standard of other sites we've stayed at. Not bad, but not the best. The main let down was the overflowing bin and rubbish strewn directly outside the door to reception. Seems to me an easy way to improve the the first impression of this Premier Inn would be to address the littering issue and also hoover the reception. Again, really friendly staff and an adequate stay but not living up to the standard of other, more popular sites we've been to. No doubt due to a lack of investment.

Stayed here several times. Good location just outside the city centre, walkable distance depending on the weather but alternatively a short taxi ride. Staff always helpful, rooms have everything you need plus a pub next door for food and drink. Will stay again.

The location was perfect for me as I was literally working all week on the industrial estate round the corner. Room was lovely and clean and due too lack of standard rooms I got a free upgrade too a premier inn plus which Was lovely. Newly refurbished, nice walk in rainforest shower, and the pub next door serves pretty standard but Good pub grub, mixed grills, double stacked burgers, steaks, etc. Staff were friendly and the room was clean. Would definitely stay again, although it's a bit far from the city centre if your looking too venture into town.

Premier Inn, you know what to expect. Comfortable bed, clean room, stylish bathroom, fabulous breakfast. Well, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean but so hot. There was only one bath towel and one hand towel in a double room so we had to request more at reception. There's never anybody at reception. We had to ring a bell and wait, everytime. Nobody came near our room in a two night stay so no replenished towels. We had to request more at reception, rang the bell and waited, again. Our room was located on the ground floor, half a mile walk away from reception. No, not quite half a mile but it was a long way from reception. Breakfast, not fabulous. No hot water urn, we had to fill a tiny kettle and wait for it to boil every time we wanted a hot drink. Coffee machine, out of order. Sticky tables. Unclean restaurant, lazy staff. Not a great experience.

Had a lovely stay here, very easy, clean & comfortable. Enjoyed all meals at the Beefeater next door. However things in & around the pub definitely could do with a tidy up (as could in & around Cardiff tbh), so much stuff & rubbish about! Especially with the unusually lovely weather & people eating & drinking outside, it needs to be kept tidier. But in other areas it was brilliant, as was the Max Boyce gig @ Millennium Centre that I came for so thank-u & for keeping 'a welcome in the hillside'

Clean, tidy and comfy beds. Friendly and helpful staff. It's a really location if you don't want to be in the centre. Plenty are parking. Would recommend for friends and family. Will probably book here again when I return to Cardiff

The man on reception was very nice and very hard working the hotel had just this one man on reception so if any one of the 300 plus had someone who needed assistance then you had to ring the bell and wait? Any other hotel has two people on reception? Not up to the usual premier Inn standards, in my experience. Only one big towel in the room and only one toilet roll and no spares, Very good shower and free WI FI and lots free parking. Food was not good. no crispy bacon only soggy bacon and tastily scrambled egg. Warm water for tea?

We were very impressed with our room 128 ' Premier room plus' when we checked in. The receptionist asked us if we wanted our room to be cleaned we said yes. However the next day when returned to our room was not touched so we rushed to the reception to get new towels, coffee and milk. The receptionist apologised and said tomorrow the room would be cleaned. The following morning looked for the cleaner who was cleaning next room with the receptionist presence . So we requested shampoo as we had only body gel for the past 2 nights and emphasised on having our room cleaned. Shortly the receptionist handed us 2 bottles of shampoo and conditioner and reassured us the room would be cleaned after we leave. On our return the room once again had not been touched despite of our daily requests and their reassurance. We were very disappointed throughout out our 3 nights our room was not cleaned. To cap it all there is no connection from the room to reception there for we had to go down physically to speak to someone. It was a long walk for older couple. Although the staff in reception area were very friendly and helpful but it appears there is lack of accountability and communication amongst them. The nearby pub for the breakfast was tatty and stuffy no ventilation at all, so you required another shower after eating. So we felt we were charged a lot of money for the special room to end up with basic service. The irony is that when we checked out we informed a male receptionist about our room not being cleaned he replied we do not clean rooms here unless requested when informed that this what we were doing for the past 3 nights he looked indifferent until I said this time we were let down by Premier Inn which we liked usually he said sorry!!! Our stay could have been better and this what was disappointed us most.

Mid range premier inn. Free parking is always a bonus and the room was as you would expect. Vending machine in reception was actually working which is unexpected and handy if you want late night crisps. The tv guide shows “no information” on every channel as you would expect. Staff were friendly. Be wary on summer stays, no air con here an room was very hot all night on the first floor.

The hotel is located in a quiet part of the city on or near an industrial estate. It's a 15 to 20 minute walk into the city. Beds and showers are always the best available ensuring great night sleep and refreshed. No opening windows means no fresh air and relies on the air con to clear the air. Breakfast is great value, as all you can eat. Staff were great and very helpful is sorting additions not out on the buffet.

Lovely hotel, clean and tidy, no air conditioning unfortunately, temperature was 26deg inside, 23deg outside

Great experience at this hotel - super clean and comfortable (bed was so nice) and really good to have parking. Great if you're seeing a show at cardiff castle as it's about a 20 min walk or a £6 uber! Highly recommend.

Could not fault the location, price, staff or brewers fare next door for breakfast - lovely stay in Cardiff however, only fault / point of note is there was NO air conditioning. The fan provided did what it could and would have been unbearable without.

    1. Poor Free Wi-Fi connection. 2. Zero vegetables for breakfast. 3. Breakfast menu without any changes. 4. Windows not open and poor AC system. Recommended only for short stay trips.

Good location 15 minutes walk from city centre with free parking. Room was comfy and quiet. Breakfast was ok but tables very sticky and there was mouldy bread. 🙈 Staff were very helpful and friendly.

An ideal location 5 minutes from the city centre. The hotel was clean and in good condition. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent.

Grat place to stay for shopping in Cardiff. The only problem we had was the man with long hair on the front desk was not helpful and very rude. All the other staff were very lovely and helpful as we're the staff for breakfast

Booked this premier inn as it was close to Cardiff and had free parking. Room was ok, clean comfy bed, but room had damp in the corner and smelt musty. Could do with some TLC throughout. The restaurant attached was awful, the staff were all really nice and friendly but the ping food they are given to serve was shocking, all microwaved. Ordered nachos with pulled beef, there was no meat at all just looked like diahorrea on nachos, the lasagne had no meat was revolting. Fried breakfast was ok in the morning although the muffins were stale and the fruit was flavourless like mush. Overall wouldn't stay here again, alway chose premier over travelodge as they were always nicer but this one was below par.

I stayed here for 4 days in October. The hotel is ridiculously hot and there are no air con facilities. The rooms averaged 24C when outside was about 10C. I have complained since as we left a day early and had terrible sleep during, but nothings being done about it and the Premier Inn do not stay true to their "Good Night Guarantee". I won't be going again, avoid if you can.

Stayed one night in family room for 4. Not much space once as the beds take up most of the room. Good location nearby to facilities and Lidl within walking distance

Great, except that we had booked a Premier room and the hotel had run out of pods for the coffee machine {which is part of the Premier room upgrade facilities that I'd paid extra for}!

Upon arrival we were met with an abrupt welcome as we originally arrived early so wanted to leave bags and check in later, we hadn't even a chance to state this when the receptionist bluntly said, "check in is 3" , not even a hello, welcome, would you like to leave your bags and come back etc. On the first night our opinions changed quickly by the next receptionist approx 6pm who went above and beyond to find us a second fan, as there is no air con in some rooms and ours was one of them. We really appreciated this and would like to thank him for his hospitality! , Room were clean and decent size for 2, comfortable bed, shower was powerful and bathroom was lovely. Welcoming smiles from then on and an easy checkout. Good location 5 mins taxi from Cardiff central station/ popular spots. Thank you for a pleasant stay🤗

Excellent Premier Inn its clean staff are friendly situated close to the city. Area immediately around hotel a little industrial. Restaurant is basic pub food. Booked for Sunday dinner arrived 4:pm no food had run out so shut down carvery back to pub food.

Good, clean hotel. Would recommend. However, don't have a heavy suitcase with you as no lift in the building.

I bit off the beaten track but that may have been my satnav. Unfortunately I booked just into the school holidays so my usual £35 - £40 room was over £150. The hotel was full so cant complain too much. Usual Premier Inn high standards just not worth the extra spend as you did not get anything extra for your money. Loads of free parking and a handy place to eat across the yard.

Room comfortable the fan was a godsend, the shower excellent sadly the hotel needs a refurbishment as all looks very tired. The car park and entrance porch were absolutely disgusting rubbish everywhere and the porch needed a good clean looks very grubby. The reception staff were friendly and helpful.

Just stayed here for the last 3 nights, first impressions of the hotel weren't great the car park has litter everywhere none of this was cleared away any of the 3 days we were there, there was also a skip left in the car park with some rubbish left on the pavement next to it again never picked up including a big piece of astroturf. We booked a family room which was a decent size (not as big as Swansea) however for a family of 4 staying for 3 nights there is no thought regarding storage even though there is space. 4 coat hangers and one drawer. The air conditioning was ok and luckily we had it as none of the windows opened. The girl on the reception desk when we checked in was very friendly, the rest of the staff we encountered looked fed up and unless we spoke to them you never got a "hello" "good morning" at all. Location OK for getting out and about. Could be a great hotel with a bit of TLC.

Well located near the city centre. Building and surrounding area feels in need of some Tlc but you get the normal Premier Inn facilities so it is what most people are used to. Brewers Inn pub supplies the food and is more than adequate.

Usual Premier Inn. Room nice, bed comfy. Had to keep asking for things in room.

  • 5/5 Andrea C. 2 years ago on Google
The room was quite bigger and the bed awesome, super comfortable

Definitely not a City Centre location. A good 20 mins walk from the station in the opposite direction, over busy main roads, so 'City' probably shouldn't be in the name. Main issue though was that the hotel had two power cuts whole staying, something the staff way the adjoining restaurant said had happened a few times lately, but just seemed isolated to the hotel

No air con which wasn't great. It was cold outside at night but boiling in the room, the gentleman on reception said it was because they had over insulated the hotel. The window barely opened as well, so no air. It was an uncomfortable night and I hope Premier Inn will honour the good night guarantee as it wasn't the weather making it uncomfortable. The room itself was fine. The staff were friendly, as always at Premier Inn. Parking was not great simply because the car park was full of builders vans. Also the area where the hotel is located is a poorer part of Cardiff. I would have given this four stars had it not been so unbearably hot.

  • 3/5 Naomi J. 1 year ago on Google
Rhys on the desk was just lovely. Very warm, welcoming and great at a 'nerdy' conversation! Shame about the room. Unfortunately there were foot marks up the wall, coffee stains on the bed and the rooms weren't cleaned in out 2 nights stay. Slept well in a very comfy bed, but was a little hot in the night. Overall a positive stay with some improvements needed

Phoned the day before and spoke to David to update my reservation, no problem whatsoever. Check in handled by same gentleman. On entering our room there was a fan operating to keep it cool, room very clean as expected. Plenty of free parking. Apart from noisey seagulls we had a quiet nights sleep. Would certainly use this hotel again when coming to the cricket

  • 4/5 Mark L. 1 year ago on Google
Room would have been 5 star but no air con in the 38 degree heat wave made it pretty uncomfortable. A fan was provided but limited window openings didn't help. Associated pub (Ocean Park) was pretty basic but staff and food were well above expectations. Location not the best but only 10 min walk to Cardiff City centre. Will stop there again - just hope it's not as hot.

Really happy we stayed here from London. Great location and close to Cardiff City centre. Really nice rooms and comfortable bed/sofa. Didn't have any food whilst here.

  • 3/5 James M. 1 year ago on Google
Not up to the usual premier Inn standards, in my experience. No air con but our room looked like it had recently been refurbished. Could hear the footsteps of those in the room above which was a little annoying. Also, I'm sure it was out of there control so it isn't reflected in my star review but the 5am false fire alarm was definitely not welcomed!

  • 2/5 Mark C. 1 year ago on Google
No Air Con room was boiling no air flow at all, had to collect towells from reception, No fridge to cool drinks, Thick duvet would have been better to have a sheet stored somewhere.. Breakfast good value and easy city access. Overall not a place I would book again.

  • 5/5 Mohammad S. 2 years ago on Google
Quick check in and helpful staff. Nice and clean. The staff has done a tremendous job, however as a company premier in should survey and see the state of the site. This needs refurbishment. As I said staff is doing their best, it's the product which needs enhancing. Public areas lighting, carpets, swollen floors, bedroom lights, old equipments etc. They are clean but are now aged. Well done staff. PI - look after them or you would start loosing gems.

  • 3/5 Rob S. 1 year ago on Google
First time I've not given a Prem Inn 4 or 5. Room way to hot with on way to open the window more than a inch, just a crappie fan blowing the hot air and dust around the room. Not a nonslip bath nor a shower mat. No shower gel. Toilet seat on the bathroom floor. The hole room shook when a door was closed anywhere in the hotel. Enough tea, coffee n milk to keep three people going for five minutes. And don't attempt the 20min walk to the Cardiff centre, we were confronted three times by aggressive drunk rough sleepers on a bright sunny evening at 8pm. +side...always super comfybeds and the staff were friendly and helpful. Also good sized free car park.
