Been there twice in the early hours of the morning this past week and restaurant closed, despite advertising as 24 hours!!! This was also after placing orders via app. Rang up next day and they told me they had staff sickness but second time staff member there told me that it's because restaurant was like a 'bomb had dropped'. Therefore best avoid and go to restaurant on Newport Road which I did on both occasions. What a waste of time and fuel going there.

Terrible McDonald’s. Renovated in favour of drive through and take away orders only. No parking and cars everywhere. Hardly any seating and half of it cornered off. No carbonated drinks available. Burger looked like it had been frisbeed across the kitchen into a bap closely followed by the lettuce. Order wrong sent single quarter pounder instead of double and even had the cheeky to say I was wrong. Even though the receipt was in front of them. Not sure what McDonald’s goal was renovating this restaurant but it isn’t to actually go there to eat.

My comments relate to the drive thru. I have either had missing items, or less commonly received the wrong order too many times and that is before we get to food being stone cold. I have recently resorted to thoroughly checking my order before driving off, thereby holding up and most likely annoying those waiting behind me. Most of the staff seem to have attitude problems and give dirty looks if for example you ask them to check the order is correct or make sure the fries are hot. I'm not being funny but if you consistently give me an order with items missing, don't scowl at me when I pull you up on it! Bottom line, the drive thru is awful, the staff are awful and your food will be missing or cold. Avoid, as I now do.

Awful, approx 15 car park spaces. Delivery driver cars were everywhere, more than 10 when we were here. The seating area has been reconfigured to give priority for a dedicated delivery area and the decor was bland. I had to clean my own table, not really a problem but 6 tables were dirty. McDonalds don't want you to sit in, it's clear they want you to have a delivery or to sit in your car. The actual customer in the restaurant is the very lowest priority. Avoid this branch if you can.

Many years ago I worked in this mcdonalds and I do not remember serving burgers that look like this. I get its fast food but it doesn't need throwing into the box. The gherkins were in the box not in my burger the food was stone cold even tho we ate at 11am burger made upside down super disappointed 😑 😒 😐

We decided to dine in for hot food, but unfortunately the food served was not hot, since we waited long (still acceptable) for food we did not asked for new.... More over the apple pie ordered was not hot at all and tasted weird, it was not worth seems like the took gave it directly from fridge..... My all time favourite in McDonald's was apple pie.... But now I have to think again... So sad with this experience.... If McDonald's is going to serve like this, then need to think again before coming next time.

Used to be ok but recently has gone down hill in a big way. Just ordered off the app and went through the drive through. Order went through but lately this unit can’t seem to process them and they tell me to go back through the app to make it a click and collect. Wait for ages, finally food comes out and drive home. We get home and none of the kids happy meals have any fries in them and neither does my chicken select. Honestly this lot couldn’t run a bath lately. Get your act together. It used to be great but the past 6 weeks it’s flipping rubbish with incorrect orders etc. the coke taste like water it’s so watered down.

What a joke they are if they are not sending the completely wrong stuff its freezing cold when its delivered. WILL NOT be ordering form this joke shop again and will advise ANYONE not to. Instead of just 5 stars they should add a section with minus stars i would give -10. I should have known better after getting foid poisoning from Mcdonald a few years ago shocking place to get foo

Waited and waited at drive through i eventually asked again are you open answer wait in a gruff voice i waited another few minutes nothing happening so i drove to window to find a mass of staff having a break joyfully talking about holidays again i asked are you serving reply wait were busy as a there was nothing before me for a good ten minutes and only a few behind me the restraint was very quite also only one at till waiting so rude won't disturb them again it amazes me people looking for work and lazy persons being paid to be rude and destroy a good business there's plenty of other places and some that want your business and are polite and courteous it's not all about cost although Mac Donald's is certainly not cheap regards phil

CARDIFF’S WORST MCDONALDS. **Do yourself a favour and go to Burger King because Newport Road is dire too!** Took 45 minutes for food to arrive inside because they prefer you to collect and leave, half the restaurant is a waiting area for Uber drivers who hog the car park and block you in. As the service inside is so abysmal, which is widely known, the drive thru is like the M25 at rush hour so there’s no point doing that either and the staff just shrug and give you attitude when you ask what’s going on. Place is a shambles, bogging tables, sticky bins…must have a seriously hard time passing hygiene standards! 👀 oh and the burgers look like they’ve been back-handed, choke-slammed and then tombstone pile-drivered 🤢

Utter shambles, children operating the place need a manager with a clue, pleease do yourself a favour and go to a different McDs where you might get what you ordered, hot instead of cold, and not thrown into the bag so the burger scatters all over the insides. Wouldn't have been suprised to see footage on Tiktok of the place showing that they were being deliberately terrible for views it was so bad it can't have been accidental.

Teribal service went there at 9 pm to be told only drive through the foreigner lady was so rude too and told me to go out and i work nearby no service for us truck drivers the lady said too bad but then went on to serve others that came in the worst mc do ive ever experienced

Ordered food today for delivery, the Mac flurries were a joke and Pay for a big Mac meal large and had a child drink McFlurry hardly any ice cream in there. This McDonald’s is getting worse phones up and asked me to chase over Uber eats Deliveroo there not the ones that done the order, they just pick it up

Can't fault them on anything. All staff encountered were friendly and greeted with a smile. Drive thru was fast and food too hot to eat straight away - a rare occurrence on visits to other stores.

Ordered via McDelivery and the food arrived cold. 2 x Big Mac meals but no chips. When calling to complain I was told I have to request a refund via Uber. Now if I want my fries I have to reorder and pay another delivery fee when I haven’t even had my money back for the first order which I didn’t receive. Shocking! Avoid!

We absolutely love McDonald’s breakfast Marcus always looks after us. He is especially lovely to my mum who goes in often alone, he really make time to talk to her. That means the absolute world! Lovely restaurant with great food

Most of the stuff is very arrogant, you will never ever see in any McDonald’s in Cardiff attitude like this this stuff things they all owe this mc Donalds they don’t work in this mc Donalds that’s the main issue especially the skinny blonde girl Ffion and she supposed to be a manager 😂😂😂😂

If I could I would give no stars. We will never use them again. Fries arrive quarter full every time, drinks turn up with no straws, once we had two boxes of nuggets with nothing in them. Sauces never packed, milk shake machine always out of order, rude and untrained staff. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Terrible service, waited 20 minutes and had to get a refund. The kitchen was dirty, chips everywhere, multiple people returning wrong/ cold orders. To top it off one of the workers was visibly wiping their snotty nose whilst prepping food. When we pointed this out we were told “oh yeah he hasn’t prepared your food though”

The meet and greet window makes store seem very conveyer belt At one point I saw someone who I presumed was a manager due to the top they were wearing who had appeared outside and when I asked if I could possibly have a cloth to clean the table she said yes but continued to have a chat with the group of employees in the corner As an "International" visitor who had only arrived in Cardiff a few hours prior to this it was embarrassing that a 6yr old commented on the state of restaurant and how unclean it was. As an exMcDonald's employee (1994-1996) I dread to think what a mystery shopper would have rated the restaurant and the service that was provided. Let's hope you never get more international travellers as they would think that Welsh people are dirty and not very friendly

Excellent double sausage McMuffin, although base muffin was weirdly smaller than normal. Hash brown was not so fresh, but iced caramel frappe was the bomb. Clean loos and quick friendly service made this a great visit..

This McDonalds is always cold. Cold fries. Cold burger. Flat coke. No salad in the chicken "legend" burger. Staff clearly don't care. I have had net negative experience from my trips to this McDonalds. The food is slightly better when it's extremely busy. Very hit and miss.

Fine if you want to go through the drive thru, pointless if you want to sit in. Hardly any tables and those that are there are usually occupied by staff?? Surely they have an office or home to work from and even if they do have to use the restaurant tables why would they do it during peak hours like lunchtime? I witnessed customers just leave because they had nowhere to sit! Mothers with young children. Just pointless

My order is often wrong from this mcdonalds or after I've paid at the drive thru I'm told what I ordered and paid for is no longer available which is very frustrating. Usually end up waiting a long time for food. The entrance is not very pedestrian friendly at all so be careful. There aren't many car parking spaces either. Recently renovated but the screen to show order status is not working and the machines to order never have receipts. So many people stood waiting ages for food it gets cramped really fast.

Absolutely consistently shocking service. Very slow to serve, and when it does finally appear at the window it is inevitably completely wrong. Just got home to find with a Chicken Fiesta which had a solitary burger patty inside, and then the Spanish Stack consisted of one patty. Waste of time and money. Go to Newport Rd or Llanishen McDs instead.

Messed up our order twice today, asked for two breakfast rolls this morning - one with no cheese and one without egg and they both came out with no egg or cheese. A few hours later we ordered 2 triple cheeseburgers and get given 2 double.

Tried telling me they don hot chocolates in the store even thoe I just ordered one on u we eats 😂 and I order there weekly Megan was a rude manager who didn’t want to give my money back for a hot chocolate telling me to go threw Uber even thoe I explained u we wanted refund me. Megan tried saying Uber got my money when McDonalds got my money for the hot chocolate. 😂 Terrible service here When I go weekly they struggle to put a burger together now I know it comes down to the management. Joke of a restaurant Won’t be going back there again And will be putting in a complaint

Absolutely appalling! Genuinely, go to a different mcdonalds! This one will only disappoint. Stereotypically the milkshake machine, ice cream machine AND frappe machine are ALWAYS not working. And this isn't from 1 visit, this is my experience from many many visits, at different times of the year, as I used to work in the subway across the road from it. We've heard stories about how badly managed this mcdonalds is, and I'm sorry to say but personal experience proves this to be true! And today we was waiting for 20-30 minutes in the drive through bay waiting for our order, only for them to not know what we ordered. When I went in to ask what had happened to our order, I was told by who I can only assume was the manager to go sit in our car and wait, working in fast food I understand the pressure! But this is not how u treat your customers, especially those who are being reasonable. So to sum it up, avoid this store, coz they can't seem to get better over the years. Go to Newport road or gabalfa. McDonald's you need to sort this store out! Coz the staff don't care.

One of the more friendly, in touch restaurants that this chain has to offer. Shame about the reduced opening hours though.
