I arrived around 3pm yesterday got settled room was ok could really do with a refurb what looked to be mould in parts of the room carpet also coming away from the skirting boards just looked abit run down. The one thing that really got my back up was it was cash only in the restaurant part and at the time I had no cash just card so thinking they must have a cash point on site or very nearby... nope ... I had to go 10 minutes up the road to Tesco's to withdraw cash... bed was comfortable good night sleep. Food in the beefeater wasn't to bad great service. I think I would come back again but only for an over night stay nothing longer.

Nice clean room, at the back so it was away from the road. Situated in a quiet area. Ryan from reception deserves a mention, very helpful, much appreciated..Would stay here again

Stayed here before flying from Cardiff. Postives: Plenty of parking and the lady serving in the restaurant during our stay was very polite and attentive. It is close to the airport for morning flights. Negatives: the welcome was cold, the room was run down and had not been cleaned properly (dust/hairs in visible areas of the main room and bathroom), thin walls. Although this is an old building, I feel premier Inn have slipped here in what they usually offer. Next time we fly from Cardiff very early in the morning we'll stay at a different hotel.

This is well situated to access Cardiff from the west and has a large free car park. The rooms are, as usual, a good size and the staff were welcoming. The building is looking a bit tired and is in need of a refurbishment. Breakfast is in the adjacent Beefeater and was OK but not as good as other Premier Inns we have stayed at recently.

Stayed here as needed a place to stay while on a family trip. Anyone reading this surely knows what a premier inn is, it probably has 100+ rooms, spread over 2 floors. They have 2 vending machines on site one that has drinks which is located near the entrance. and one that has chocolates, which is located just past the reception area. Near the reception they have a selection of things that some people forget to take /bring with them (tea, shower gel etc ) even though I did not use these a think they where £2 each . The rooms are what you expect, nice beds a desk TV. Plenty of storage. They provide cups and mugs, kettle in the room and pots of long life milk. They prove extra pillows. The front of the hotel is located on a busyish road but you can't hear any sounds from the room even with the windows open. The back of the hotel is on a quite road which has the new 20 mph speed limit . This hotel has the beefeater attached to the hotel so no need to walk out of the building as this can be accessed through the door which is just passed the reception area. Plenty of parking all around the building probably guessing but about 75+ spaces they do have some electric charging spaces. This location is within walking distance from a number of shops including a McDonald's for those that need one. And a short 10 minute drive for a big Tesco's store, that has plenty of parking as you would imagine. The staff were very welcoming and friendly when we visited they even rearranged a room with no issue.

Situated on the outskirts of the village of Wenvoe near Cardiff. Plenty of parking with attached restaurant. Large family room with comfy bed, windows don't open and air con not as cool as would like but still a good place to stay. Friendly staff and s good breakfast but would recommend booking.

We had a lovely 3 nights here in a family room! The room was hot but a fan was already in the room to use. You have to ask the desk in the morning to refresh your room. We did have a dirty mug and no spoons given one day but the desk resolved this for us quickly and were apologetic. We did unfortunately end up with a loud family above us running up and down all night, but the staff were very helpful and did go and speak to the family. Due to disability we were unable to have a room upstairs as there are no lifts but if you can I would recommend asking for an upper floor room.

Rooms are good value and very clean. The pub and restaurant needs a deep clean, all the tables and menus are sticky and cups are dirty. The staff are good. The food is not bad. Would give more stars if everything was clean.

I've always been a fan of Premier inns very clean good service and most importantly the breakfast never fails. Definitely would consider coming back if I'm in Cardiff.

My wife and I had booked for one weekend night while visiting family & friends in the Cardiff area. Reception staff were a tad off-hand - not rude, but not particularly welcoming. The room (ground floor) and bathroom were clean, but the room smelled unpleasantly musty. The bed (as with all Premier Inn beds) and pillows were very comfortable and the bedding was spotlessly clean. However, the hotel had provided towels for one person only. From previous experience when the two of us stay in a Premier Inn, there is one bath towel and a smaller hand towel on the towel rail; the extra towels for the second person are placed in or on the wardrobe, but not this time. By the time we realised we were short of a set of towels we'd changed for bed and didn't want to go to reception to ask for towels. It wasn't that big a deal, but it demonstrates lack of attention to detail by hotel housekeeping staff and management. The attached Beefeater was OK for breakfast. The whole place (hotel and Beefeater) could do with being refreshed and spruced up.

Stopped here, while we went to a concert at the stadium in Cardiff. Good clean, comfy rooms. Good breakfast, cooked or continental. Its a Beefeater restaurant and bar, we had evening meal and a couple off cocktails , not pricey. Really nice friendly staff. Bus stop, really near into town. Would reccomend.

Standard premier inn, adjoining pub for breakfast and evening meal, plenty of parking and located just West of Cardiff. Probably more convenient to stay here than in the centre and a lot cheaper too

Not the massive beds that we are used to in Premier Inn. Air con not working and as we arrived at 1am we didn't notice the office fan on the desk so melted the whole night. Our mistake but don't have an air con panel if it doesn't control anything. 20 mins from Cardiff airport. Convenient, at 50 quid a room it's cheap enough..

Good standard as usual. Location is good. Beefeater looks a little tired but good food.

A very fine Premier Inn. Great location, near Barry, not too far from Cardiff. Bus from outside to either place. A Beefeater attached, and food was great. Been to Beefeaters attached to Premier Inns elsewhere, and not as good as this. One thing: although staff was great, lovely, the service was sometimes slow—but this was not their fault. Brexit has clearly battered hospitality. Second hotel we've been at now in six weeks where staff numbers were low. The staff member behind the bar at the bartender had done eight hours without a break, and had another four to go. She'd been shouted at by impatient customers (idiots), so we bought her a drink. It's clearly a huge problem. Usually, these hotels have been staffed by young Europeans as well as locals. Now, due to stupid people, there are no young Europeans. It is probably the morons who shouted at this girl in the Beefeater who voted for Brexit.

Very conveniently located for visiting my family. Easy check in and check out. Damp smell in corridors and the room and TV slightly outdated and small but doable. Bathtub very dirty though.

Nice clean and well presented rooms. Very helpful and polite staff. Restaurant next door so really handy when you've got breakfast with your stay.

Room was clean. Nice to have a bath with the shower. The WiFi was patchy and slow as the room was far away from reception. Breakfast was OK but I would have preferred a help-yourself option for the cooked English.

The environment was calm and peaceful, Dough the room was cold without heating. Spoke with the attendant, she tried to help but didn’t come through. Had a nice time

Unbearably hot - no change in air conditioning despite changing settings in the room. Window does not open, fan not provided. No phone in the room. Only one key card provided. No iron available. Comfortable bedroom and bathroom otherwise. Plenty of parking. 20 min from city centre. Acceptable breakfast at Beefeater.

Worst Premier Inn we have stayed at. Sleep impossible with 4 in one room with no air conditioning, not staffs fault but training seems not high on agenda. Beefeater good nice, staff bless overworked but very nice.

A very good Premier Inn in a good location, not too busy but also not out of the way. Given that it is a Prmier Inn you know what to expect but they try to go that little bit further in service. The dining experience was standard but good - nowhere near as cramped as some Premier Inns can be.

Receptionist on the evening was great, room was clean well presented, however breakfast was a let down, the staff were just miserable and gave the impression they couldn't be bothered no smiling, no engagement...drink jugs were empty, and hot food was very slow in arriving.. 30 mins.. however it was good when it came.

Friendly and helpful staff. Location is ok, but a bit of road noise and some distance from the city centre. No air conditioning, although a fan was provided. Powerful shower.

Allowed us to check in late due to late flight into cardiff. Gave us an extra hour to check out also. Room great and the usual premier inn quality and comfort. However, curtains werent long enough so daylight beamed through bottom waking us 🙄

The room itself was in very good condition. However there was another door to the adjoining room so noise was a slight issue. Room did not have a walk in shower but ok not the end of the world. It would have been nice to have iron/ironing board in the room. The media connection panel unfortunately didn't work. Vodafone reception is poor. Their free WiFi is restricted to 1mb download and 0.5mb upload. Absolutely ridiculous! Continental breakfast was OK. Staff were lovely. I wouldn't come here again because of the poor WiFi. Its a huge factor for me personally.

It's a good hotel and service is fine. The only difficulty I had was I don't think the rooms have air conditioning. There are controls but no ventilation from which the cold air can come from.

It suited us as we were near family and when we enquired about staying an extra night they accommodated us no problem. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Wouldn’t stay here again the staff where rude and just looked like they would rather be anywhere else. Room was dirty with cobwebs dust and grime all around the taps on both the bath and sink. The air con made random loud rattling noises throughout the night. Constant banging from upstairs and when mentioned to staff at front desk they didn’t seem bothered and said they’d sort it and didnt. There was a random fire alarm in the morning which when we asked about it the staff where just rude and didn’t care. Basically just stopped speaking to the staff because I it was intimidating. Booked breakfast in the morning and it was barely edible. The drinks like juice and milk are just in jugs not refrigerated the girl serving was moody and as soon as we sat down took our order straight away because they wanted us out. Another man possibly working in the kitchen stared at us the whole time when was eating which was just uncomfortable and made us leave as soon as we was done eating what we could. Food was slapped on a plate and presentation wasn’t the best so definitely not worth the £9.50. Just couldn’t relax. So I wouldn’t recommend , family have stayed a couple of times and it’s always the same outcome so not a one off.

Easy to get to off the M4. The car park is a bit misleading, go to the end turn right & right again this will get you close to the reception. Staff were happy and helpful even at 9pm. We were on the first floor which wasn’t a problem for us. Didn’t notice a lift. As per usual with our previous Premier Inn stays clean rooms and very comfortable beds. I recommend that you don’t have breakfast at the Beefeater next door . Whilst in the area and you have time I do recommend the St Fagans history museum 10 minutes away.

We booked for one night as it was close to where we needed to be the following day. Motel style inn with plenty of free parking. The rooms are not the best ( no air conditioning) but a fan had been put in our room. Room and bathroom were clean. That said we had a great nights sleep , the shower was good and the lady on reception could not have been more helpful and all the staff we met were really friendly . Given the price they deserve 5 stars. Separate review posted for the attached restaurant

👍 Nice cafe in Pughs Garden Centre. The Cafe is table service. Food is homemade and reasonably priced. I went mid afternoon on a Saturday and the Cafe was quite busy, but the service was fine. There is a large free car park outside with ample parking. The Cafe has an outdoor seating area as well.

😠 Shocking breakfast. Poached eggs on toast were solid, the breakfast wasn’t much better. The butter for the toast had melted almost completely due to being sat under a warming lamp. Charged extra for mushrooms and received one. Will never use again. Avoid at all costs.
