We spent two nights at the Hilton Cardiff. Nice hotel in a great location. Easy walking distance to various sights, bars and restaurants in Cardiff. Only a 10 min walk from the train stations. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast area and food was outstanding (and again, staff very friendly and helpful). Lobby is welcoming with very nice bar/restaurant. Only downside was the bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. We really enjoyed our stay.

I am utterly disappointed with my stay. The bed in my room was broken, I reported it to reception immediately. The receptionist told me he will send someone to sort it out, however no one came. One of the bed base wheels was missing which made the bed lean to the side. I've waited for someone to come and fix it for half an hour. After that went out for a meal thinking they will sort it out by the time I got back. Came back, still not fixed, no receptionist around to talk to. I had the most uncomfortable night, feeling like sleeping on the slope. For the amount of money that I paid I was hoping for at least a restful sleep. Visited the spa facilities and went out within a couple of minutes as they were absolutely disgusting, dirty, hair on floor, rubbish in the sauna didn't even bother with the steam room. I am disgusted with the service, I expected more. Very poor customer service, a very disappointed and expensive stay.

What a lovely stay we had with our Labrador! The hotel is super dog friendly. We traveled from Yorkshire and had a long day of walking in the rain. We were able to park in their car park. Walked to the hotel and were greeted with big smiles by all the staff. The room was lovely, warm and clean. We ordered room service with some drinks because we were so tired and it was brilliant. They were even able to provide a sausage snack for our dog. I loved using the pool. The staff really did make our stay, so thank you so much!

We took two dogs and had a dog friendly room. Being picky needed a little touch up. The staff were excellent and caring towards us and the dogs. Would definitely recommend as a dog owners option for a Cardiff stay.

Was totally disappointed with this hotel, started off with our visit to the pool, absolutely horrendous, nearly fell into the pool as going down the steps the plastic things callapsed and made me fall and someone from the public had to come help me up, then our room was very noisy also not to mention the carpet was highly stained the pillows were awful I had to ring down to ask for another pillow which made hardly no difference and couldn’t sleep ended up just not being able to sleep and having a headache. We then noticed when we tried to call reception the phone didn’t work so I had to use my own mobile and hold on the line and hope someone answered. Drinks very over priced too. Good location but just a shame you don’t get what you paid for! Stayed here before and had a total different experience and always recommend the place- but unfortunately I won’t be from now on… think twice before you book

Excellent hotel and great service. From arrival and check in from Nino to unfortunately having to leave was a great experience. Great location over looking the castle and centrally located for everything you could need. Only a short and very enjoyable walk from the train station, worth saving the cab fare. Looking forward to my next stay, next week. Will certainly update this post if anything changes. Excellent, keep it up.. would highly recommend.

As the website doesn’t make it easy to find, uploading the paper they gave me to find parking. In terms of hotel stay, the rooms were nice and clean, beds were comfy but the bathroom layout was a bit strange. Breakfast wasn’t as good as usual compared to other Hilton’s around the UK, so a bit disappointed (the fruit was raw, savoury stuff was quite bland and just not much on offer)

Lovely hotel and close to Cardiff town for shopping. We stayed here to see a show at the arena and was a 10/15 minute walk away. The staff were really friendly, the room was lovely, big and clean with robes and slippers. Breakfast was lovely and plenty to choose from. The overnight parking, which is around the corner from the hotel was £29 per night, ouch!! If you have time spare, then train station car park is only £12.50 for 24hrs so a fraction of the price.

Just a quick review to say thank you for a wonderful stay. We stayed as a family, to visit the lights and winter wonderland. On arrival there were festive gifts in our room for our children. A very nice touch and they were over the moon! Everything was faultless and we all enjoyed. Great service all round, from the reception and front of house staff, housekeeping who delivered extra pillows, the swimming pool staff plus the breakfast and bar staff were all really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was tremendous and plentiful, again the waiting and serving staff here were friendly and warm. Thank you so much. We are already looking at our next visit. Highly recommended. Happy Xmas! The Webbs

The hotel was nice, even though there was building work ongoing. The room was on the executive floor, so I had access to the executive suite, which was a nice touch, with great views. There was a large choice of breakfast, and the central location was great.

We stayed here during the Coldplay concert in Cardiff and suffice it is to say, the service is top-notch. We were greeted warmly at the reception. The hallways and the room, despite being spacious, looks a bit old and dated. The beds were comfortable though. Apart from the banging of nearby doors, the rooms were pretty much soundproof. The toilet space was also adequate - completed with a Villeroy and Boch toilet bowl. Fancy. The buffet breakfast was sumptuous. The moment we arrived at the restaurant area, we were also greeted by the polite staff and were shown our table. She also showed us where everything is. They have all you can see from other hotels including English breakfast and a good selection of cereals and breads. But a good point for me was the inclusion of dairy free options from vegan yogurt, butter and even a vegan croissant. There are a few selection of fruit juices as well. We are definitely not morning persons so the usual check out time of 12nn is a hard work for us. Thankfully, they allowed us to stay up until 1300 - not a lot of extension but still enough. There is a Hilton Health club on the second floor with gym ,pool , spa and a steam room. The pool and the spa was a decent size. I personally think the gym needs a bit of upgrading though. Albeit the varied free weights, the gym looks cramped and rusty. You would also pay a hefty £29 for an overnight parking, but this might be the average parking fee for the area considering its location. The parking area was not within the hotel but a few meters walk from it. It's in a separate building and looked a bit dark. They usually allow cars to stay up until check out but they allowed us to stay beyond the check out time (as we had a late check in as well). So we got to explore the city centre a bit more and really maximized that parking fee. And speaking of city centre the hotel was centrally located in a prime location in the city. It's a walkable distance from the Cardiff castle and various shops and restaurants. All in all, a wonderful experience topped off with excellent customer service. Would definitely consider staying in here again. Kudos!

Great hotel. Got upgraded to junior suite which was a fantastic room, plenty of space. Room was clean and shower was fantastic. Breakfast was really good - great quality ingredients, fast service to refill by staff and lots of choice. Location was fantastic being so central plus parking super easy (round the corner from the hotel). Used the digital check in and check out service so was super fast to arrive and depart! Would stay here again.

This was a wonderful one night stay! From the moment we arrived they treated us wonderfully! They thanked us for our diamond loyalty and we had been upgraded. The view of the stadium at night all lit up was very cool. Breakfast was very good and the e breads so fresh. We had a suite and needed the pullout for one person. They made it and did turn down service for the bed. After a night out in the pubs we came back and all was perfect. What a treat. I would tell everyone especially diamond members to stay here. Central to whole city and parking was £29 which was not unreasonable. Would stay again

Absolutely lovely stay, all staff were amazing, gorgeous room, delicious breakfasts, brilliantly located in the city centre close to everything! Wish id had time to make use of the swimming pool and other health facilities, would certainly reccommend! Thanks for a lovely stay!

It was perfectly good as a stay. As a member of Hilton, the keyless system and the ability not to check in was great. The room was good, although not worth what I paid quite frankly. Stayed when the Queen had passed, therefore many Americans staying, which to be expected were overly loud, but the hotel can't help that. Drinks were outrageously expensive, which is to be expected to a degree, but it was worse than even my low expectations. Also we're not made very well, inexperienced bar staff, but they were lovely people. Admittedly did not try the food and breakfast as I am very familiar with Cardiff and have favourite spots.

That was indeed a wonderful stay at Hilton Cardiff located at the heart of the city. Brilliant service and nice gesture by all staff. Sara at the reception was humble and very helpful. Last, but not the least the bar and the restaurant was smashing with staff being the major highlight. Joel, Shaun, saskia, Gala and all the other ones were amazing. Hoping to visit again.

Right next to the castle and central to all the pubs and shops etc. Staff were great and so was the door security. Room was clean and the shower was powerful. Also they have a nice big TV with a television package.

Absolutely gorgeous room and views over the castle and University. Staff were all really lovely. Thanks all. Maybe just up the excitement of breakfast. Although certainly not complaining. It was yummy. Hope we'll be able to get here again soon.

It was the first time staying at a Hilton & we would fully recommend it. It was the perfect location for our needs, Cardiff Castle one side, parking the other. All of the staff were attentive, friendly & very polite. The room was lovely, got to love air con on a hot day. The food was fantastic, catering to everyone's requirements. We will definitely stay with you again. Thank you to everyone.

Highly recommended! Went for business & pleasure. Great location for sightseeing, as well as coming back after a concert at the Castle. The rooms were very spacious and kept to a high standard. (Except that loose toilet seat that made me see Jesus, thankfully now fixed for the next guest haha). The staff were extremely gracious and hospitable. Something you do t see as often in the UK as you do in the US. However, the consistency of Hilton standard of care and treatment was definitely evident. Will definitely stay here again.

Top hotel in the city centre. Would highly recommend for a short stay. Good views if your facing the castle. One thing I did notice was the toilets at the entrance weren't clean. But that might be down to how busy it was.

  • 3/5 James B. 8 months ago on Google
This Hilton ‘feels’ tired, and needs a good revamp! The exec is lounge is nice and the dining room. But the rest of the hotel, including the pool needs a good refresh, doesn’t feel like it’s been touched since the early 90s. Overall though, fine experience.

  • 4/5 Martin J. 9 months ago on Google
A bit of a stripped down experience nice hotel clean good service. Spoiled due to lack of expected extras. No mini bar, no mineral water as an alternative to tap water. No tooth mugs, no face flannels and no replacements to body wash etc. I know I could have asked but these things used to expected at a Hilton

  • 5/5 Nick L. 7 months ago on Google
Lovely hotel in a great location close to everything you could want! Also, directly across from the castle. Room was large and clean and the bathroom was nice and modern.

We had the most fabulous time staying here... Great rooms, lovely breakfast and good service. Was very relaxing, couldn't hear anyone in rooms around us. Pool and areas is a little tatty but didn't affect our enjoyment, sauna and jacuzzi were nice addition to the health club. Location is absolutely perfect for central Cardiff. We walked everywhere all weekend, it's perfect. It's a 15.min walk from Cardiff central train station which we did on arrival and when we were leaving, this was fine even with bags and cases. Would recommend for a weekend stay in Cardiff.

Has been my go-to hotel for years whenever I come home to Cardiff and have always been happy with it, but this is the first time I've had time to use the pool and spa, and the changing rooms were like stepping into a different building: broken/rusted lockers, broken ceiling tiles and broken locks on the shower doors, used plaster left on the bench, steam room with no steam, surly receptionist. It's a shame because the spa/pool was always a big factor for me in choosing this Hilton compared to other local hotels, I just never had the time to use it until this week. That being said everything else about the hotel is great, so if you don't plan to use the pool/gym it's 5 stars.

  • 4/5 Mark C. 6 months ago on Google
Excellent location in the city centre. Lovely central lobby area and glass lift through centre of hotel. Lifts are really fast. Food is mixed - I had a lovely vegetarian curry, but the scone for afternoon tea was far too dry and to make it worse, had too little cream in it.

  • 5/5 Zoe Y. 3 months ago on Google New
Lovely pool and spar. Smack in the middle of town centre, 2 mins away from shops and most importantly costa. Although coffee and breakfast etc was really nice. It was never my intention to stay here, but the marriot has closed the pool, so I have visited twice in the past 4 weeks. Although the first time was not great, the second changed my opinion entirely. Will definitely visit again.

A great visit, staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Room roomy, comfy and great view of the castle and lights. Breakfast was amazing and staff were very attentative. Not far to walk to bus stops and shops.

  • 4/5 Lyndsey C. 5 months ago on Google
We spent a couple of days in Cardiff (2 adults/ 2 kids). We were fortunate to get an upgrade which was lovely! Overall, the staff were very professional and kind. Although there was one male staff member (maybe French?), that I felt was very rude to me on two occasions. Breakfast was okay, although it would have been nice to have a vegetarian sausage/ meat free options. Unfortunately, we got no sleep! The nightclubs around us spilled out its partygoers and there was no rest from 12-4am. We had to listen to an argument for 3 hours! Considering we were on the top floor, we heard every word. No police came to sort it out, so we had to endure it. Although that’s not the hotels fault, it did put a dampener on us the next day as we were all so tired.

Did not meet the expectations. The positives: Clean, the management pays adequate attention with regards to safety in the light of covid, friendly staff at the reception, loved the location. Negatives: 1) The telephone in neither of the two rooms (217, 218) that we stayed in worked. Thought we reported this no action was taken 2) While we do respect the covid restrictions in place to prevent the spread of infection, we find the inflexible timing with regards to breakfast unacceptable. We had been given the 8am-9am slot after discussion. But when we arrived at 8.50 am for breakfast we were denied a table and asked as to come back at 10 am. There should at least have been an option to deliver the food to the room. Or they could even have specified a last time of arrival of 8.45 am! We do admit the mistake from our side for being late for breakfast. We had chosen the place to celebrate a holiday and not for a time limited official conference. Denying breakfast for which we paid in advance isn't fair. The breakfast spread (though the quality was okay) was average, but doesn't fit the brand value. 3) The room (217) was also noisy, we were continuously hearing sounds probably from the mini bar fridge? or drainage pipes? 4) Paying parking charge for a water logged and unclean parking area doesn't give a good impression. The availability of a parking space is a boon indeed, but it has to be maintained properly.

Arrived here on Sunday 10/10 and booked with booking.com. Unfortunately, I made a mistake with the booking dates and booked November instead! Fortunately the gentleman on reception was able to accommodate us and provide us with a room. The location is great, just as you enter the city centre, it's close to the castle, museum, shopping centre and restaurants. There is parking available for £23 for 24hr located one street away

  • 1/5 Frances 2 years ago on Google
Can't even bring myself to award a single star for my experience at this hotel. Standard of cleaning and service fell so far below the minimum standard for any hotel. Dirty, bloodied sheet on bed not changed from previous guest and carpet had not been vacuumed. Made a complete mockery of the cleaned and sanitised sticker on the door. I have previously stayed here very regularly over many years. Standards have nose dived in recent months

  • 4/5 Clare M. 2 years ago on Google

Had seniors haul own luggage, blaming it on covid. They could have used gloves, right? I have 21 seniors on tour. Some over 82 years of age. For a Hilton, very sad indeed.

Had an absolutely fantastic night away at Hilton Cardiff, really good views, staff and room. Special mention to the executive lounge lady who looked after us on the 2nd November (unfortunately didn't catch her name), only slights were the TV crackled every now and then and the chef in the morning didn't seem too happy about serving us our hot food. But an overall lovely experience and can't wait to return

  • 5/5 Les 2. 2 years ago on Google
Stayed here for 3 night. Had an executive room with a fantastic view over the castle. The room was spotless. Had use of the executive lounge which was nice and the young man who hosted in there was lovely. We had breakfast included and the standard was very good. We could not find any fault. Buffet cold and hot served to you as you requested items. The only thing I felt lacked was the bar area because it was by the entrance and check in it was not very warm and had no atmosphere. The staff serving were very good. Definitely recommend and we return.

Clean and pleasant environment. The staff were so efficient especially the manager Shaun who was incredible, kind and helpful to two struggling ladies. He went beyond the call of duty. The food was excellent. A good variety and well cooked and presented by a charming and happy chef.

On arrival all seemed well, room was well but shower was filthy, mildew had taken over on the tiles at floor level. Bed was very good. At breakfast I was fortunate to choose a continental breakfast but my son in law had bacon which every item was cold, bacon was so cold the liquid had set after cooking. My daughter had poached egg which was stone cold, complained and the eggs replaced but were still raw in the middle. My wife had the same complaint with the bacon etc.called the restaurant manager over and he said the chef did NOT know what he was doing. We shan't be going there again.

Excellent service by the staff, they were attentive, warm and really welcoming. I enjoyed my Christmas break here in Cardiff, mostly due to the kind recommendations by one of the staff (Carrie). The location is superb in the centre of the city. My room was clean, spacious and had a nice view overlooking the Castle. Will definitely stay here again should I return to Cardiff.

Did not stay overnight however attended the Hilton for the spa facilities and afternoon tea. The afternoon tea was poor. The deserts were soggy and wet on the bottom. It seemed like it had been defrosted nothing tasted fresh, even the scones were hard. Additionally we were sat in the bar area which was very tired looking and there seemed to be minimal staff around. Positives were that we enjoyed the facials and massages we had purchased.

Really nice stay for the rugby in the stadium. Hotel was busy but service from check in to check out was really good. Ordered breakfast in bed, which was fantastic. Looking forward to my next stay in June. Thank you staff at Hilton.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit dated and not the cleanest I've stayed in it just felt a bit grubby. The whole hotel needed a good clean apart from the main parts they was clean. Location was good . We have stayed in nicer travel lodges at half the cost so a bit disappointed.parking is off site and £23 a day . Breakfast is nice but a but not worth the £14 per head .

So, I'm not sure how this hotel has an average 4 rating ... and you really ought to read recent reviews ... I certainly wish I had ! The location is great , very central .the staff are friendly , BUT ... This hotel is sooo dated . The reception area has a long sofa that has completely ripped and torn upholstery with the foam innards hanging out , the main area carpet is stained and filthy . Our room , 427 , was not the cleanest , mould around the 'disabled access' equipment ( we are not disabled but were put in this room ) , the shower was hot for 2 minutes before turning freezing cold whilst I had a head full of shampoo , the usb power outlet had no power , there was a satin on the duvet cover , the ceiling was water stained , the window looked onto an absolutely disgusting refuse area ( photo attached ) When we complained about this , we WERE given a £30 refund ( which covered the extortionate cost of the car park ) but really , I wouldn't have paid more than £50 for this hotel . There are far better hotels in Cardiff and I certainly won't darken its doors again ! Thank goodness I didn't visit the pool and gym !

We were at a family wedding at City Hall so the location couldn't have been better! All our rooms were a good size, spotlessly clean & with everything we needed. The breakfasts were superb, a real feast. All staff were very friendly & helpful. Ww would certainly stay again.

Stayed here before. Understand after COVID, lost most of staff, so all new. Well they have all been trained and are lovely, efficient and if they can't help, they will find someone who can. Room lovely. Location is perfect, short walk to castle, shops or bars/Restaurant, even Principality Stadium. Only down side, Spa, pool small and part closed off for private lesson, children screaming and jumping in, which is what kids do, but the times for adult only was either6-9 in the morning or 8-10 at night. So not an adult place to go.

Really enjoyed our 2 night stay at Hilton Cardiff. Decent room and very clean, although maybe getting ready for a refurb. Bathroom good but showing its age. Room had especially good view overlooking the castle. Staff were all excellent, so friendly and extremely helpful, whether those on reception, in the dining room or on room cleaning. Lovely quality and choice at breakfast buffet. A beautiful cup of coffee even though from a dispenser. Great location at northern edge of compact city centre. Only a 15 minute walk from railway station.

Great place. Dog friendly and went above and beyond for us, even made sure the air con was on in the room before arrival to cool it down for the dog. Shame breakfast wasn't included in the price and was so expensive. Otherwise it was very good.

We are from Australia and booked this as a mini romantic break as it was our anniversary while visiting relatives in wales. The only reason I have given 2 stars is that the staff were really lovely and and my husband loved the breakfast. The hotel, past its prime, not what we invisioned very tired, dated, the furniture a bit on the shabby side, a big let down for the Hilton brand Our room,511, the safe not bolted to the wall, so no point in leaving anything of any value in there,a bar code sticker left in the bed, towels were all old ,rough and mismatched ,there was make up stain on the one big towels, dried blood marks on the bath tiles, when the room was serviced, no milk left for a cuppa , nor was there any other toiletries left, are we being rationed for a 2 night stay, bed side light didn't look to safe, hole in ceiling around sprinkler, window sill has seen better days , all in all a bad impression of what we thought was a good brand , shame on you Hilton.

The hotel was nice! It was very clean and comfortable. My only issue was with the location. There is a nightclub of sorts in the adjacent building, and it was very noisy at night, but I suppose that depends on what side of the building your room is in.

I was on a mission, and the stay was pleasant! I highly recommend this hotel. The Breakfast was WOW!! I mean WOW!!! I did not have time to go to the Executive Loge, but I herd that it was nice! I was messaging the hotel thought the APP and was getting a quick response back to my questions. The Hilton Hotel staff was pleasant, kind and knowledgeable. I was not able to explore all the Great wonderful things Cardiff has to offer. So if I were to return, this is the My Frist Choice!
