Another beautiful hotel given away to asylum seekers while we have homeless on the streets in Cardiff. This hotel chain should be ashamed of themselves sacked all the staff to have government bribes of taxpayers money

Another lovely hotel given up to asylum seekers, Clearly the Hotel chain is choosing money over customer loyally, A company can be long term ruined by the smallest disloyally towards its true customers

This is certainly not a 4 star hotel. Positives ...location and allowed dogs for extra @Β£10 per night! The room decor are tired and needed updated!! The pillows were cheap and I struggled to sleep the 1st night! When I complained I was told there were new pillows that they could offer me I mean really!! The bathroom smelt of stagnant water. Dinner menu was horrendous food awful. We booked the restaurant however we were seated in the bar I discovered there was a restaurant . There was a wedding going on and they had football on the TV. Had a listen to shouting and screaming. The menu as you would of expected to have a steak choice but nothing! The breakfast was disgusting! They had no gluten free bread on offer though they knew when booking! They only clean the rooms on request due to Covid unfortunately I had not read this in the welcome letter! We paid over Β£1k for two rooms two night without breakfast no value for money!

Positives: The staff were very pleasant and happy to answer questions. A lovely looking venue. Dinner was very tasty, best thing about my stay! Conveniently located for my business trip. Negatives: I'm very surprised that The Copthorne is considered a 4-Star Hotel. The room I stayed in was dusty (surfaces, lamps, mirrors, TV, remote, telephone, curtains, windows, chair, cupboard), and there were streaks left on the surfaces which were quickly wiped down for the next guest (me). The desk and table were sticky in places, so I wiped everything down with anti-bacteria wipes. There were two towels in the bathroom which did not seem to be clean, and the previous guests soap was still found beside the shower. One of the bulbs above the sink would constantly flicker. Breakfast was fine, nothing special, was acceptable, but the juice that is served is very watered-down, and the coffee that was served was possibly the worst I have ever tasted. The water tasted like it had been over-boiled in a burnt pot. Not a bad place overall, but not what I was expecting, or should have accepted.

Hotel was good, rooms very dated and in need new carpets. Our room carpet was threadbare in places in the bar the carpet was help down with tape. Just need some investment. Room was great size but really really hot even with no heating on. No air con which would have been great. Breakfast was amazing. Staff were great friendly and efficient and food quality was one of the best in hotels I have had. The bar was OK. Run out of lots of drinks options and service was slow and understaffed due to covid restrictions so we understand. Staff were all great and friendly

Another Hotel chain housing illegal immigrants that have sacked their staff to replace them with reprobates that are abusive and attack members of the public for taking photos of the Lake the video is clear for all to see you should be absolutely ashamed. We have our own Homeless out on the streets yet you are taking god knows who in and they are living in a 4 star hotel. This is absolutely shameful from the Hotel and spine less we asels in power .

This hotel will go bust the moment the home office terminates the refugee contract. Culverhouse Cross has turned into Calais.

Overall stay was good with a comfortable bedroom and bathroom. But the place does have a very old and odd damp smell to it. Milk cups were expired on the tea station and the room was little dusty around the table and the lamps. This is understandable as it’s been in lockdown for months and hardly any tourists movements.

Sadly I must say that I regret staying here. Admittedly I knew there was no air conditioning before booking but the temperature in the rooms on the 5th floor was more than the temperature outside, and it was over 20c outside at night. Sleeping was impossible, even with a fan. The rooms were poorly lit, old fashioned lamps everywhere but none that bright, and the rooms themselves were very dated. Beds were OK. TV was huge which was a bonus. Tea and coffee facilities were OK. Room space was average. View was not good, but you can opt for a better view if you want to pay more. There was a mini fridge which was good and this worked pretty well for a small fridge. Bathroom was tired looking, and it was impossible to get cold water from the sink, so if you for example wanted to splash cold water in your face you had to use the bath. Shower was good, powerful and worked well. They provided some small soaps and very little shampoo bottles but when I asked for more on two occasions they had none, which seemed odd to me. Staff were polite but not as good as other hotels, I got the impression the staff were unhappy the whole time, they just gave that vibe, so us asking them for anything was just annoying them, for example if you have no soap say sorry, don't just say we don't have any and leave me there wondering what I can do next. Parking was good. Would not stay here again.

Had 2 nights stay at this beautiful hotel. Check in was very quick and easy. Very helpful staff. Lovely big and spotlessly clean room with a lake view which was absolutely stunning. The king size bed was so comfortable had a very pleasant sleep for both nights. Breakfast was very well organised covid safe and measures in place, very quick clearing and resetting the tables, large variety of breakfast. Highly recommend will most definitely be staying again. Perfect stay.

Stoped here when buying property in Vale of Glamorgan. Just far enough out of city and good access to airport and Barry.

Stayed 1 month for work, rooms are nice but TV and wifi can be frustrating, breakfast definetly the week link in the all stay, can vary a lot in quality from mediocre to unacceptable when the hotel is busy with group tours. I had a lovely afternoon tea on the terrace overlooking the lake. Staff generally very nice. .. With one or two exceptions. Swimming pool is ok, same goes for gym and sauna. Overall an ok stay.

Attended a wedding for the whole day. Ceremony was lovely and pretty! The sit down meal was great with soup starters, chicken dinner mains and a cheesecake for dessert. It was lovely with champagne for the toasts and wine on the table. The evening buffet was nice too. Great day over all.

The location is excellent with easy access from the M4. Despite being surrounded by busy roads, the fact you can sit on the terrace looking at the peaceful scene of a lake with plenty of ducks and fish makes it feel very tranquil. After a drink on the terrace, you can wander around the lake to stretch your legs to absorb the atmosphere further. Dinner was tasty and staff attentive, and correctly ventilated. The room was attractive and comfortable.

My husband and I were greeted by two lovely young ladies on reception yesterday, they were very talkative and chirpy. The check in was very quick, then we discovered our room was a twin room even though we booked for a double bed, luckily they fixed this issue very quickly and apologised for the mistake so none of our time was wasted. Our room was fantastic, very clean and spacious. Would definitely recommend!

The hotel is located at an extremely noisy intersection which means that you don't get any sleep with traffic and sirens going past. The rooms are not air conditioned so the windows are left open for fresh air esp in the summer. The rooms are spacious though extremely dated. If watching TV, you will only be able to watch terrestrial channels. I found the lack of electric sockets to be extremely inconvenient. I had to pull out the plug to my bedside lamp so I could charge my phone. There was only one more plug point available on the other side of the room which was already being used for a fan. The swimming pool and gym were closed so can't comment on those. The food in the restaurant is okay but having a menu for people who have intolerances or allergies would be helpful. As a positive, the staff were pleasant and helpful which makes a lot of difference to one's stay. The breakfast buffet serves a great cooked breakfast, but if you are a vegetarian or have a wheat allergy, there isn't much you could eat except mushrooms and tomatoes.

Staff were helpful kind thoughtful and chatty. I was alone most of the time and it helped to know someone else had a little time to chat. The room was comfortable clean and suited my needs. I loved the lake and the views in spite of the hotel being in a very busy area.

Excellent, well appointed and layed out room with character and all necessary facilities. Lake views very impressive and nice to sit and watch the ducks from the comfort of my room with my morning coffee.. Super comfy bed, excellent shower and very large tv. No A/C, but not really necessary - plus I prefer to be able to open a window for fresh air and hear the sound of ducks.... Incredible breakfast, better than most 5 stars I've stayed at.. Nearest bus stop at the Burger King opposite (cut through the lake) has regular buses to the city centre and Airport (both 20min commute) Only criticism is the health facilities were closed, however reflected in the amazing price. Will be back!

Seen loads of comments about the hotel needing updates etc. Well I think it was lovely, yes a bit dated but thought it adds character. Everything was clean bathroom was lovely. My little boy was in his element there watching the fish and bat's by the lake. Very lovely and polite staff.
