Last month, a group of 5 of us went to Whitewater Rafting for the 2 hour stand up paddleboarding. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and has drawn me to love the sport of SUPing (Stand Up Paddleboarding), which my friends and I all agreed became “addictive” after this session. The instructor we had was incredibly friendly and especially patient. He gave us the right amount of freedom in the large pool to the side of the building, but at the same time was more than happy to help anyone who was struggling without judgment or criticism and made frequent offers to do so. The sport itself was initially like trying to get a pig to fly, however after the first hour it become a lot easier and most of the session group was able to stand up on their boards, even if they fell off shortly after. In my opinion, I definitely recommend this to anyone who is confident and comfortable with and loves the water because the upper end was relatively deep (a 5'3 person stood no chance of touching the floor!) but the whole experience is something I’m so, so glad I did, despite the nerves felt, and am definitely going to continue. For anyone who is looking to get into water sports, it also seems a good stepping stone for aspiring surfers as it familiarises you with the feeling of being on a board and the necessary balance which I most definitely lack right now 😆 Don’t hesitate to SUP with Whitewater Rafting!

Really good value for what you get. The conveyor belt back to the top saves so much faff. The rafts are probably the only downside as a kayaker.

I visited this centre with my university kayaking club and I found it an amazing training experiance. I would highly recommend this centre to kayaker of a range of skill levels. It is easy to swim to the side if you capsize and the staff are helpful and calming when you need them. It is also brilliant fun to practice launching back into the water.

Amazing experience, we did tubing and a random sunny office day. The staff were amazing fun the receptionist, to the instructors, everyone was friendly, helpful and happy. Really made our experience better. But the rapid are awesome. Can't recommend it enough. It is fairly expensive, but I didn't see anyone not smiling and having a great time. Tubing is controlled carnage, but for the fair hearted but our group of 6 ( couples) all got stuck in and had a great time.

We went for the rubber ring rapids experience, excellent fun. Some of the staff were a little unprofessional but we still had great fun car parking next to venue is free, which was a bonus.

Very fun day here for my birthday This place is even fun on a rainy day The instructor was lovely and fun.. chatty and funny too. Reasonable prices Extremely fun Lovely waiting area and viewing from upstairs cafe. Only critic I can make is the changing rooms absolutely STINK of urine The wet suits are wet and smelly.. ripped in areas too but okay for a one off I guess The shoes are smelly too. Full of water. Not very nice to wear but shut up and put up cause that's all soon forgotten when you head out onto your raft. Changing rooms do need a good Bleach and disinfectant 3 times a day though Would also be good if there were cameras placed around the course that took images just like theme parks do.. and then a room you could go in to hunt down your pictures select them to print off.. that would be a really good idea as many would pay for that if not you need someone who isnt participating to take some shots of you doing it and it's pretty boring for that person. In all we all thoroughly enjoyed every second it was a laugh and can't wait to come again even with the smelly changing rooms lol

Always a great place to practice some white water kayaking when none of the rivers are running!

Incredibly fun, finely orchestrated organisation. Shame about the orchestration of my friends rowing synchronicity but appreciate that they are well beyond the help of professional rowing instructors

Great fun. We were a group of 7 and went out in two separate boats with an instructor each. Our instructors were both very good. Down to earth guys that explained everything clearly and made sure we had a great time.

Rafting with kids was great fun, the instructor was nice and the facilities were great. Highly recommend it for a first taste of rafting. Took my kids ages 7-12

Myself and the rest of the stag do had the best time, credited mainly to our instructor Riley! Her enthusiasm for the job made the experience unforgettable

Booked this and had an emergency come up before the date, tried to cancel with plenty of notice of their app, had no information from this then I call and speak to one of the people on the desk and they tell me they can sort out a refund for me but I needed to email - I emailed and now they’re telling me I can’t get a refund or anything. Incredibly disappointed by the attitude and support from the team, have been before and enjoyed it but this has put me off recommending them to my friends.

Came as part of a birthday party rafting event my son was attending. Good safety briefing, equipment was supplied although wetsuit sizing for kids was hit and miss. Boys had a fabulous time. Excellent day and we will return!

Took the family to the centre for indoor wave experience. Excellent service throughout and special thanks to Kat, our instructor, who provided brilliant tips and advice. Learning curve to ride the indoor wave on a body board was quick and we were doing tricks and flips in no time.

I did an introduction to stand-up paddleboarding with instructor Nick, and had a fantastic time. Great facilities, friendly staff, would recommend if you're looking for a fun activity to try, even when the weather's not ideal

We did the family white water rafting on 09/08. I cannot recommend this experience enough. We are a family of 5, unfortunately my little sister fell ill suddenly so wasn't able to participate, the receptionist we spoke to was very helpful. She gave us a refund voucher for my step dad and little sister to use for another time which we were very grateful for and were not expecting. I'm sorry we didn't get her name. Our instructor Henry was informative and funny. We had to share a boat with another family and he did well to help us gel together. We are definitely going to do this again.

An amazing day out, instructor was very professional but still fun. This is a very physically demanding activity, but worth all the effort!!

Great experience doing the white water rafting. Surprising how much of a workout you get paddling around. The drops were great and our guide/coxswain "Dan" was very approachable and friendly. His skill in getting the most out of the course, getting everyone soaked was brilliant. Top attraction

We popped in on our weekend trip to Wales and went rafting with the amazing instructor Rhys - he was amazing! So helpful, funny and kept calm when us girls managed to flip the boat. I would 100% recommend doing this whether you have experience or not! Shout out to our boy Rhys, he really made the experience 5 star!!

Brilliant course with a lot more than just the outdoor white water section. Offering white water and flat water fun for all, Cardiff International White Water the perfect place to take up a challenge, seek adventure or simply indulge in pure excitement. My son attended with his rugby club for an activity day. They opted for the dingy ride, and spent most of the morning going around the track or horsing around in the waters at the bottom of the run. Needless to say, they exited having had oodles of fun. It is a fantastically clever bit of entertainment, but is also fairly steep cost wise. Not your pop out on a weekend event unless you're a millionaire. It was however worth the occasional splurge for the kids. I definitely would go again, and they absolutely loved it. My one complaint, the cafe has been closed. I don't know if that is permanent, but I was informed it wasn't open with no airing to a possible resolution.

Fabulous time at the centre with the stag party. Our boat leader, Carl(?) was super, he made it a really fun experience for our whole party and would highly recommend this venue and event. The lady on reception had a great sense of humour and very welcoming and engaging with our large party. Thank you to the staff who made this a great day out for us all.

I have only used the park n play for kayaking on the weekends. The centre is a very fun and safe place to paddle. I would call it a grade 3 on 8 comics but be carful of the eddies... these are like whirlpools and catch tou out easily. It's great fun here

Reduced by one star because the cafe was not open and the water was cold :-). Also it was a long way to travel to get there, why did they not build it closer. Also the boat kept slipping down the escalator belt. Otherwise it was great and we liked it. Thank you.

Great experience all round. Enjoyed by a large group of us in Cardiff for a stag weekend. Riley - our teacher/steerer/babysitter, was particularly fantastic and definitely deserves a special mention. Very professional, but super-friendly too.

Great team that hosted our stag do last weekend. We weren’t really sure what’s to expect but it certainly cured our hangovers. The staff are good very but also very professional. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for something fun to do in the day time

Been to many air trails and this is the least scary, and the quickest. Not really worth the price. Two times around would be much better. Friendly air trail host but cold reception desk worker.

Had a brilliant time trying out the white water rafting. Loads of fun and Ryan was a brilliant instructor. It was exhilarating, but also easy enough for everyone in the group to take part! Highly recommend.
