A great day out which is really good value for money. The cave visits are without guidance or staff but it is easy to follow the cave route without getting lost. There are manikins in a few locations with a storyline narration, giving you a history of the cave discovery and facts about its formation. My kids did struggle a bit trying to follow the Welsh accent, as well as with the sound being a little challenging to hear for some but my wife and I had no problem. You only require hard hats for the top, 'Bone Cave' and I really recommend you wear one (it is compulsory anyway) as the roof is low in areas and I saw many people strike their hat. Outside there are a large number of dinosaur models of all shapes and sizes, many of them dynamic models, with signs giving information like when they existed and theories of their behaviour, etc. The cafe has a limited menu with packet sandwiches, baked potatoes, burgers and chips and with hot drinks dispensed from a couple of machines but it was OK for a quick bite at lunch times. The museum was excellent and had the kids entertained for a while. All the touch screens and interactive points were in excellent order, perfect working condition and really well developed for putting information across. The kids (and adults!) thought they were excellent and fun to watch. The shire horse museum is worth a quick visit before you go. Very good for young kids as there is a play centre (we didn't use it though) and park with little zip lines. A nice little museum with an automated narrative about the times at the height of shire horse usage. The cost of entry was reasonable considering the amount of content at the park and is well worth a visit.

Well-worth a visit, very well maintained and managed caves. No mouldy smell inside, very well lit & very helpful and friendly staff. The pictures don't do much justice as the real deal... Sincerely suggest a visit, especially if you have kids who would like caves & dinosaur stories. The view from the top is beautiful ❀️

Absolutely loved it! Highly recommend this to anyone. The cathedral cave in particular is absolutely stunning and any photos and videos I have taken, do not do it any justice. Huge and very impressive dinosaur park for the kids as well. Beautiful views at the entrance to The Bone Cave. Unfortunately The Bone Cave is currently shut due to Welsh Government Guidelines. But it would have been good if the staff could have done a recorded tour and display it on one of their many screens around the park as a virtual tour. If ever visiting the area, I would definitely come again. Very clean and social distancing is done extremely well.

Fantastic experience visiting these show caves! 3 Caves in total located around the park as you walkthrough, with the iron age village and dinosaur path to look at along the way. Great place for families to visit as having the model dinosaurs keep the kids entertained if they don't take to the caves too much! There is a cafe on site if you want food, drink or a cup of tea while you're there. Would advise that this attraction does have some areas with low head room inside some of the caves and entering one also. This attraction is also on the side of a steep hill, so walking around for some people may be difficult at times.

Absolutely amazing place. The caves are breathtaking. The dinosaurs are done to a great standard and so many of them! The shire horse and farm is lovely. Great play area for ages up to 10. You can easily spend 4to5 hours here.

What a lovely day out. I only went down to see the caves and was greeted by dinosaurs everywhere Great! Plenty to see and investigate. The caves are amazing and historical information is given at certain points along your walk around. Outside the caves you can learn about the varied dinosaurs and how prehistoric man lived or simply relax at some of the spectacular viewing points. Well worth the visit.

Lovely place - as long as you are not 75+. Involves a climb not suitable for senior citizens. Unless I missed this, it was not clear enough on their website. However, the staff was really helpful and the place worth the entry fee. The kids enjoyed the farm and the caves. The location was breathtakingly picturesque. Highly recommended for a family trip - easily a day out.

Cave's are spectacular, interspersed with the largest collection of life sized dinosaurs that I've ever seen. Included in the entry fee is access to the shire horse centre with llamas, alpacas, sheep, pigs, goats and rheas ( or emus, I'm not sure which). Many of these wander freely amongst the visitors and some are welcoming of a fuss. An outdoor and indoor play area for the kids rounds of the attractions. Great day out.

Great as always, with lots of walks, places to see and exhibits to admire. Caves are open, as well. Some of the pathways to dinosaurs ( down to the stream) were closed, but we enjoyed the rest of it. The Shire with playgrounds and animals roaming freely were amazing. It was such a relaxing day. Highly recommend.

This is an amazing experience, especially for the price. There are 3 caves to visit and a good walk around the park packed with excellent dinosaur models with movement and sound. My God sons loved it. After that there is a free miniature golf course, a free roam animal experience with interactive elements such as milking a goat model and also a kids adventure play area with scooters, slides and a little tractor course all included on the price. There is also a donation based land train to and from the park from the caves which the littlest loved. Highly recommend the park it's self. Would have been 5* but the food from the cafe was not good, would avoid the baguettes and bring a packed lunch next time.

A great day out, very reasonably priced ticket as there is a lot included. 3 stunning caves to explore, 2 much larger than the third. A cafe, souvenir shop, lots of dinosaurs and information to learn. The visit takes 2-3 hours, you ideally need to wear closed shoes or trainers, as it can be slippery in the caves. Also a jacket is recommended, as the caves temperature is fairly lower than outside. A very unique experience, we would definitely recommend visiting with friends or family. Highly enjoyable and a lot of parking available.

Absolutely loved it here. Loads to do and see so great value for money. The caves are beautiful to look around and apart from the long steps and low canopy walkway to Bone cabe they are all very accessible. The waterfalls in cathedral cave are absolutely stunning and no photo can do them their true justice. Add on to the caves the dinosaur exhibits on the walls between them and it is a great day out and will be a great way to entertain kids. There is a shire horse section too but we didn’t have time to go in there.

Visited this place for the first time and it was areally enjoyable day out. We would recommend doing the farm area stuff first (probably about 1hr) there is a nice kids play area (outdoor and indoor) with a playground area and various other activities including mini-crazy golf, snakes & ladders, giant draughts and a few other outdoor games. There is a mini train journey which takes you to the dinosaur section and also the caves. There is plenty of places for outdoor seating so it’s well worth bringing a picnic for the kids to feast on. All three caves are enjoyable experiences, easy to navigate and well-lit and probably take no more than 1-2hrs to complete at a leisurely pace. The dinosaur area is huge and there are kids of dinosaurs and fun facts to keep the kids entertained. Toilets are limited with only one in the farm area and one in the dinosaur area and none near the caves - so make use of these before heading off for activities. Staff were really friendly and helpful when called upon and would definitely visit here again!

I have been visiting here since I was a kid. The place is beautiful, informative and fun for the kids. Some of the outdoor exhibits are starting to show their age, but only if you look closely. The cafe offers simple fayre at a reasonable price, and all the staff try to be as helpful as possible. When you visit the farm area, keep an eye out for Ivy, she loves a good scratch behind the ears. The paths are quite steep in places, and some areas are simply not wheelchair or buggy friendly at all, but that is the nature of the attraction, and the place is as accommodating as possible.

A lovely day . Very interesting. Great Dinasaur Park. And caves were very good. Only downside was it was very steep climb. To the dinosaurs. And a guided tour inside the cave would've been more informative.

An absolutely fantastic few hours! The caves were beautiful and fascinating. It was great to get the train up and down the hill to and from the car park. The effort put into placing dinosaurs throughout the walks around is brilliant. Food was fairly reasonably priced as portions were generous, worked out about Β£10 per person for food and drink. Would highly recommend a visit for all ages. Tickets do need to be booked online in advance.

Amazing day out. The caves are some of the best I've been in, well presented and easy access. Tickets need to be booked online in advance. Toilets and baby change can only be accessed by leaving and re-entering the park which is a bit of a pain, especially with so much to see inside. The dinosaur park kept it interesting for our toddler as we walked between the caves.

Entry tickets include free entry into the shire horse center. Spent around 2 hours to do the caves and another 2 spent with the animals in the shire horse center. Caves were great but bring a jacket as it is cooler in there. Lots of dinosaurs here also which the kids loved.

Totally recommend this beautiful place, suitable for families with kids, couples, friend’s activities. The Cathedral Showcave is a must see you will be amazed of its beauty. The farm is lovely for kids and for adults, the dinosaurs area are amazing. There are toilets, there is coffee shop and that serves food really nice with acceptable prices. You can buy tickets there but they also have an online booking system.

Amazing. I cannot find words to explain how special this place is. About Β£80 for five adults,. Worth every penny. The dinosaurs....do many and are moving, I have never seen such a big dinosaur display. Caves, just wow. Cathedral cave is out of this world, add the gentle classical music, lighting and thunderous water gushing from the roof...magical. my favourite place in the world to date. To finish with the petting zoo and crazy golf for free! An absolute must go.

The place is quite interesting. The caves are cold and the dinosaur statues are quite exciting. However, overall experience was quite bland. It seems like the caves themselves were not enough of an attraction so they randomly added dinosaurs and a farm. I think it's not bad but could definitely have been better.

One of the best days out in Wales without fail. So much to see and do and explore at the caves. A family favourite for decades now being passed to the next generation of dinosaur hunters and cavers! The history of the caves and being able to walk through them is amazing and such a good experience. Some areas of the caves have low headroom but are steady and stable underfoot. Never had any issues with anyone slipping or falling. The caves are well lit and maintained, and the audio guide is brilliant. The dinosaur Park and walk is a must for any dinosaur fan of any age! The staff are friendly and helpful as well as very knowledgeable about the area. We loved the shire farm area as well and the play area was a hit too. Hopefully they can keep growing and expanding and continue for many more years!

Lovely place, a lot of dinosaurs, it's been updated since we last went there. The kids loved it and the animals were so friendly we didn't want to leave! The goats especially were like little dogs. All they wanted was a fuss and a scratch behind the ears and would follow you around to get it πŸ˜‚

Fantastic place to visit in a beautiful setting. Great value for money, so much to see. Took 3 hours to get around everything but could have spent a lot longer. It's definitely worth visiting if you're in the area. Our boys 11 and 16 thoroughly enjoyed themselves as did us Parents. Staff were very friendly and helpful

What a great day out for all ages. We were 2 adults visiting. You have three caves to explore and commentary about the morgan brothers is in the main cave, the cathedral cave was my favourite it was magical with the music playing and waterfalls. Bone cave is only small but still worth visiting and listening to the story about who lived in these caves. The dinosaurs are so good and so many to be seen, even as an adult I was impressed. We walked over the bridge to see the waterfall which was stunning. We then visited the Morgan farm and walked amongst the animals, we played 9 holes of mini golf (free) that was fun. Saw shire horses lots for children to do indoor playareas.

This has a lot to see with multiple caves, a farm where able to pet animals, and lots of dinosaur replicas. I think I underestimated how kid-oriented it was as we seemed to be the only ones without kids, but we still enjoyed spending about 2 hours between seeing the Dan-Yr-Ogof and Cathedral Caves, animals at the farm, a brief browse through the tiny museum, and bite to eat in the cafe. It was more dinosaur oriented than expected but still fun overall. In the caves, it is damp in all and a little dark in Dan-Yr-Ogof, though a pretty decent path throughout (paved, and level or compliant steps vs. being very uneven like some other caves). There is some narration inside but hard to hear with the echos. It indicates you need to book tickets in advance and firm on times, it we were 15 minutes late given an unexpected road closure and were still admitted without issues. Facility wise - Toilets: only in the coffee shop and they are clean though dated - Coffee shop/cafe has several lunch options including a few vegetarian options which weren't glamorous but fit the needs. Seating can get tight on busy weekends so recommend going slightly earlier on. - Mini train that takes you on a 90 second ride between the farm and main entrance

Amazing place to visit with kids. Whole day can be spent easily. 3 caves to visit and the Cathedral is the best and most beautiful. The dinosaur park which lead you to the two additional caves help you to climb up to the mountain which gives you a beautiful view for the surrounding mountains. Highly recommend! It worth its price and under 3s can go free. Helpful staff and well looked after place.

Fantastic time here as a couple with a 6 year old. I really enjoyed the history, the little one enjoyed exploring! Everyone loves the Dino's! Great experience but not disabled friendly, though I'm not sure how they could change that inside the caves.

  • 5/5 Carl O. 2 years ago on Google
Fantastic trip to the caves today. The two show caves were great especially Cathedral cave were the waterfall was worth the entrance money alone. Be prepared for lots of step hills but there are plenty of places to rest. The dinosaurs are set out in the woods with some moving, great for younger children.

Really well put together experience There are 3 different caves that you can wander around at your own pace. Throughout the caves there is commentary from the people who first discovered the caves, so no queuing to read a sign, just find a good spot and look around while you listen. There are steps, but not that many. It was cold inside so take a fleece. The number of stalactites, stalagmites, curtains and flows is not that high compared to other show caves but as you wander you will keep finding more. The second cave on the tour, cathedral cave is probably the most spectacular and also has waterfalls you can walk behind. Possibly the best bit are the dinosaurs, they are by far the best presentation I've ever seen with quite a lot of them having small amounts of movement like heads moving around and tails moving, don't worry they don't run after you. They are also outside in amongst the plants, some of which probably need a trim, but it does give it a more real feel. There are a few in the museum at the end that are more delicate and could not be put outside, and for a bit of fun you can even use a computer screen and projector to colour in one of them with a design of your making. Throughout there is a nice humour like the dinosaur that had escaped last night and been recaptured and put in the naughty corner. And if that wasn't enough, you can do gold panning (fools gold not real gold) and the shire horse centre which is more of a farm with lots of different animals. Finally the shop, a good selection of dinosaurs related things and a surprisingly good selection of socks. The number of people is controlled by tickets and time slots, so it didn't feel that busy which was really nice, but that does mean you probably should book a slot before going, but once in just go at your own pace, there was no feeling of needing to see everything in a set time

Absolutely stunning place! Amazing day out and definitely has to be seen! Everything is included in the tickets the entrance for the caves and the farm! One of the best places in the heart of Wales! Book tickets before visit and the parking is also included!

My partner and I booked 24 hrs before arrival and we weren't disappointed. When seeing the beautiful weather forecast we decided to book this attraction to have a day out. There is so much to do and see with 3 caves, lots of dinosaurs, panning for gold and the farm on site there is definitely something for everyone. The caves are great to explore for all ages unfortunately tho they aren't accessible for push chairs or wheel chairs as there are lots of steps about. The Dinosaur models are amazing to see with so much variation there are everything from T-Rex all the way to prehistoric fish. The farm is great too and the animals although happily grazing are free to wondered around the public and around feeding time it's great to see them all playing the workers up.

  • 5/5 Martin R. 7 months ago on Google
Wonderful Cave experience. Kids enjoyed it as there were lots of dinosaur models outside the caves. Bone cave was very narrow and low head clearance, so it will be difficult for people with mobility issues. There was a charity train running from the lower carpark every 10 mins. Kids enjoyed petting the farm animals located near the charity train stop. You will need a cave entrance ticket to enter this farm, though there were no checks done.

Perfect day out.Lots of thinks to see. Organised area. Clean. Staff very friendly and kind.We call them and explain our situation and they sort out in the same day Tickets for us. The park territory are huge. Lots of signs were to go. The caves was our first experience. We enjoyed. Caves have lights inside, pats, and signs were to go. Is good to have warm clothes and waterproof boots πŸ₯Ύ when visiting the caves. Highly recommend!

A full day outing for all πŸ˜ƒThree beautiful caves to explore, beautiful pathway routes to the different caves! We loved all the dinosaurs and enjoyed spending the end our day at the farm yard which is a little walk away from the caves entrance but well worth it. The farm yard also has miniature golf which was great fun 😊

  • 4/5 Maria M. 1 year ago on Google
Went for the caves so were quite surprised by the number of dinosaurs. They're everywhere. You walk around the caves yourself rather than take a tour. So you get to go at your own pace. Only downside is that the audio played in the cave is hard to hear over the natural noises in the cave. There's three sets of caves to wander round. The farm was nice too, lots of free roaming animals which the kids loved. Worth a visit.

  • 5/5 Aniel P. 1 year ago on Google
Good experience for the whole family in the heart of the Beacons. It’s a self guided tour but it’s well planned out and you can experience at your own pace, expect a fair bit of climbing up paths between first cave and the rest. It’s cold in the caves too, sensible clothing and footwear advised! Nearby lots of nature walks and waterfalls to explore after you’ve spent a couple of hours in the caves and Dino trail. Cafe is decent too for a pit stop. Watch out for mobile signal, if your using g-maps and have plugged the address in first your gps should continue to guide you, but you will lose mobile data and signal around the area so plan ahead!

  • 5/5 Maja R. 1 year ago on Google
As the attraction is a really good fun for all the family, no matter what age are you, you will find something interesting. We were there before but this time for the first time on camping. Camping itself is large snd quite good but more focused on caravans and motorhomes. In terms of tent not so good. Even though you have to "book it" via email/phone in advance you cannot be sure what you get. We were booked as a group but there's no pitch numbers etc ,so it can be tricky to get together. Facilities are good but pitch places for tents could be prepared a bit better.

Beautiful caves. Really enjoyed the classical music being played in The Cathedral cave. I learnt about the rock formation called curtains. Good automated tours so you can learn about how the caves were discovered. You can even get married in one cave. Interactive museam & displays in Bone Cave. So many dinosaurs for the children both static & anamatronic. Good mask wearing in Wales compared to England. Good value & nice food in cafΓ©. I liked stroking the shire horses as Shire Horse Centre included in ticket price. My husband liked stroking a piglet. My son's friend liked the Rhea. They had alpacas. We all enjoyed crazy golf ( included in ticket price) where real sheep come on the course & keep the surroundings neat. Little kids ride on vehicals indoors. Gift shop for caves nice but I would like a bargain box there to buy discounted/ damaged items as I do like a rummage.

This experience has so much for all ages. The caves are wonderful and showcase the underground experience with use of audio and visual media. I especially liked the Cathedral cave and its musical accompaniment. The dinosaur aspect of the park was also well done with lots of information and animation of the models. Aimed at children I think this was executed really well. I would like to have had guides throughout the caves and park giving information and interacting as it would have added to the experience. However this is a brilliant example of fun and education for all ages. Highly recommended and worthy of the entrance fee.
