Nice place to visit, very quiet. Nothing there except nature and a beautiful river. The weir contains a hydroelectric plant, but it wasn't working when we visited, not sure if it normally does.... easy parking and plenty of open spaces to walk around and enjoy

We had a really lovely visit to Forest Farm Country Park on the way to Caerphilly Castle, having found it on Google Maps. It's a real gem with nice walks and wildlife, left very natural. Close to the car park, there is a little play area, which our children (aged 5 and 8) loved. Again, it was very natural but the tunnel of young trees and wooden giant sparked their imagination. The different areas aren't signposted especially well but there are maps around the site. Parking is free.

Lovely place for a stroll, bring your good cameras with you as there are many varied species of birds to spot too. There's a couple of bird hides to take advantage too!

A great walk along the canal and a lovely place to watch and listen to birds. There are 2 hides on this walk and if your lucky you may see a kingfisher. Lovely Spring flowers in the hedges. You can continue to the River Taff.

Great place to photograph wildlife.. with two large hides over a large pond free parking too.. can be busy in the holidays and noisy which scares the kingfisher and heron away but on the whole a great place

Great for a walk and photographing wildlife. I would give 5 stars but there is an awful sewage smell from a broken pipe near the entrance, which desperately needs fixing, and the road leading up to it is unfortunately used for drifting by boy racers. A shame as this is a nature reserve...

The Country Park covers a few smaller areas, some more rural in their feel than others. There is the part by the Taff, which is like a farm used for activities now, plus the part around the Glamorganshire Canal which is wild with its piece of historic Long Wood nature reserve. It is interesting how the area had evolved to become part of the industrial and rural landscape near Cardiff, then be preserved as an place of wildlife and that industrial heritage, An oasis of tranquility that has become surrounded more by housing and modern industry and roads.

A lovely walk along the tow path by the canal and around the woodland. Lots of ducks and fish in the canal, I will definitely go back for another visit.

Such a shame if they build on the northern meadows. It is all the pollution that is causing cancer yet they are going to build on this beautiful land for a cancer hospital that will be the same as velindre. The countryside is disappearing rapidly which will cause cancer to grow rapidly

A tranquil peaceful area to connect with nature on the outskirts of Cardiff. Although it's close to the motorway and built up areas, once in the country park the road and city sounds are replaced with bird song and the rustling of trees. A great area for bird watching and taking the family for a walk with direct links to the taff trail. It's dog friendly too although dogs must be kept on leads at certain points.

Didn't get much time to explore the area in full .... But what we did see was well worth it and will definitely be going back again for a longer period.

Such a tranquil place. You can continue your walk and see outstanding weirs along the taff trail that takes you into Cardiff City Centre going through Haileys Park, Pontcanna and Bute Park. There are comerants, Herons, Dippers and Buzzards along this route

Amazing nature place to walk and swim. Although now unsafe to go into water as council pulled down steps as unsafe. Sadly I won't be swimming there now!

A lovely place to walk safely by the canal. Lots of wildlife to see and several close encounters with a few ducks. Different trails to follow according to ability. Lots of fun but limited on road parking better to walk there

Lovely place to walk around. Apple orchard to walk through, nice little pond to sit and relax. Parking near by or just walk there, it's straight of the traffic trail about 10 minute walk south of Radyr Weir.
