I spent the day here with my wife and 2 boys (10 & 3 years old). There was plenty of parking available, and there was an entry fee, which was quite expensive at £7.20. The park is kept in excellent t condition and I'd recommend planning in a full day for your visit as there is quite a lot of ground to cover and lots to see. The Manor House itself always seems to be having some restoration work done, or at least it has the few times I have visited over the past few years. The gardens are well kept and are perfect for people looking for some nice family photos. Near the gardens are some tiny houses in a kids' park that depict nursery rhymes inside. The boys loved this little park as it had assault courses and massive board games. The cafe located next to the Manor House was rather pricey but the quality of the food was very good. There was another kids' play area with wooden climbing frames, etc. On the way from the Manor house to the farm area, against the backdrop of the Port Talbot steel works. This was a well-kept park, although lacking in benches, but there were some rocks to sit on. The farm area had a variety of farm animals, which were relatively tame and enjoyed a fuss from the boys. There is a nice little trail that takes you back to the car park. It would be great if you are a dog owner or like me making every effort to wear the kids out. Great day out, I would recommend bringing a packed lunch if you're aiming to keep the spend down. Will definitely pay a visit again in the near future. Maybe next time, we will tackle the Go Ape course or even explore some of the walking trails.

Beautiful park with deer roaming around the grounds. The gardens are extensive, especially magnificent are the Tulip trees (liriodendron tulipiers). There’s a great play area for children, a castle and other buildings for them to play around. Pleasant cafe in the stables (currently outdoor seating). The paths are well made and easy to walk, gravel finish. A beautiful spot with far reaching views. It is a large area to explore!

Margam Park is a stunning and historic park located in Neath Port Talbot, South Wales. The park boasts a range of attractions, including a magnificent Gothic mansion, an ornamental garden, a deer park, and a boating lake. The mansion is a highlight, with beautifully restored rooms and a museum telling the story of the park's history. The gardens are also a must-see, offering a peaceful setting to enjoy a stroll. Overall, Margam Park is a fantastic day out for all ages, with something for everyone to enjoy.

This is s great place to visit with lots of different activities for all ages. Idea trails for riding your bike & if you're a runner, well all I can say is you could cover at least half marathon distance with stunning 360 degree views. You can hire e-bikes & pedal karts to get around the park & if you have short legs this would be a great way to get around. There are plenty of amenities around the park so you shouldn't get caught short. Sadly the castle was closed on our visit but we will return again. Friendly & knowledgeable staff which is always a bonus 😁 10/10 across-the-board

Such a beautiful place to be, beautiful and clean, set across a vast area with plenty of activities for everyone. Amazing historical place to be and it’s so nice to access. The Orangery looks incredible. Good access and excellent facilities, though being winter some parts were closed which is no surprise. The Turbine room was fascinating and so great to learn they still use Hydroelectric, just amazing. Lovely gentleman explaining everything and who clearly was well informed about the House and the Gardens, top man! Felt the lady serving in the tea room for the Manor House could learn to smile or be a little more welcoming, seemed a hard one to crack. Some of the signage for the trails were damaged or missing so finding your way around was challenging at times. We loved the place though and we plan coming back in the summer months.

Absolutely stunning place to visit. There is so much to do for adults, children, and fur babies. The farm was wonderful and animals very well looked after. So much history and the grounds are very well kept.

Lots of space and very dog friendly, they have a small farm area you can go through and you can easily spend and hour or two just walking around. Parking is reasonable as it's around £6 per car but that allows you access into the estate. Wish the cafe was slightly more exciting and did a larger range of cakes and snacks etc. We live nearby and it's great when you want to walk the dog but avoid the hills, although there is a lovely walk if you go up the hill past the go ape setup.

Great place to spend a few hours. We took a picnic today but have eaten in the cafe on previous occasions which has always served nice food. Great little play area for kids as well as some ponds to see wildlife. Not to mention the deer which can sometimes be seen

When planning to visit this place, I wasn't expecting a huge amount of interesting things for kids or for the rest of the family. I was completely mistaken! With two young kids, we spent a good time walking to the adventure playground through the wood vibrations pathway. It was interesting, fun and while windy the play area was great and hidden by trees which helped cut out the wind. Unfortunately, the train was out of service when we went, but it looked like it would have been great as well. The house and Abbey were stunning, as were the walled gardens. A very dog friendly place, but beware that the paths through the wood are steep and not paved and can be slippery if wet. A wonderful time had by all and I highly recommend it!

Really lovely. There is disabled parking however only 4 spaces which were full when I came but the main car park had space near the entrance so was not an issue. This park is so beautifully maintained and the animals super friendly! Can give them a head rub if they fancy it. The pathways are wheelchair and buggy friendly and there are go cart type things that you can hire. Really nice cafe and ice cream shops around. Just a perfect place to be. The historical buildings are really well maintained and definately a sight to see.

Lovely place for walking and enjoying the open space. Animal walk trail has alpaca's they were so cute my niece (2yrs) got to feed them. Castle was closed for works but it had no effect on us as was not planning on going inside today. Children's fairytale land could prob do with some upgrading bit worn looking. £7.50 for a car not to bad if you plan to be there a few hrs.

Wonderful place to spend the day if you happen to be in Port Talbot. Nice cool breeze to cool down the summer heat wave. Family friendly with nice scenery, too. There is a Farm Trail with tame farm animals that kids really enjoyed. They animals were so incredibly friendly that we didn’t want to leave! If you want to walk around everywhere it can take you 3-4 hours to see everything, including pit stops. There are also beautiful flower gardens, a church with a gift shop inside selling traditional Welsh stuff, some ruins, the mock castle and a Fairy Land where children can play and have fun.

Lovely place to spend the day. It's free to get in and you only have to pay £6.50 for parking for the day which is a very cheap day out for a family especially if you take a picnic and thermos of hot chocolate like we do. We've been here many times and always do something different. There are adventure playgrounds for kids including a fairy tale themed one and a wooden castle themed one; historic buildings including the stunning Gothic mansion; a farm trail with peacocks, hens, donkeys, ponies, alpacas, goats and more; mountain biking and hiking trails, and if you're looking for adventure, a Go Ape course, and water sports (canoeing, kayaking, SUPing) for an extra charge. We love it here.

Lots of walk options, sensible shoes recommended, a good choice for a decent length walk (we did nearly 5 miles). Cafe offers a range of drinks, snacks and food (jacket potatoes, chips, sandwiches etc).

What a lovely park. It is unexpectedly huge. There is a cafe serving hot meals. The toilet is clean. I would wear boots; it rains anytime in this country. We actually returned within a week to enjoy the Christmas lights. Highly recommend.

Visited for the luminate Christmas trail. What a beautiful, beautiful event! Went with a two year old and nine year old, didn't take a pram but definitely could have. It was so magical, we spent a good two hours there. It was a feel good place, it was relaxed and not rushed and we absolutely loved it and will definitely be returning again. We usually do Bute park but decided against it due to the parking and I ended up preferring it. It was wonderful!

A wonderful family day out. A large estate to walk around with wild animals and farm animals, historic buildings and a small stream train to ride. Sometimes there's historical events on - this time was a reenactment of an English civil war battle.

The light displays were beautiful. It wasn't overcrowded, so you could stroll through at a leisurely pace without being herded, unlike other places we have been. There were interactive displays dotted around and a lovely display of fairies that the children loved. The food was well placed, and there were plenty of choices. We took our own marshmallows, and you can use the firepits provided to toast them.

Sunny day adventure. Parking fee = entry fee (Car-£7.50). Spent a total of 4 hours here in total after walking 80% of the grounds. Lots of level access fine stone pathways for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Some parts are fairly steep, especially near the carpark. However, there is parking further into the site close to the orangery. A nice amount of interactive area's for toddlers n older - magical play area, farm animals, go ape, a small lake with boar hire pedal powered karts There is not a huge amount of pinic benches around the grounds to manage the post lunch rush, so be prepared to bring damp proof blankets for picnicking when the ground is damp. Plenty of toilets on site near the food vending and seating area at the centre of the park. Food - bought 2 well filled rolls, a packet of crisps, bottle of diet coke and an americano coffee cost a total of £16.50. Overall, I had a nice walk and look forward to coming back another sunny day.

This is always a wonderful day out for anyone. The alpacas especially were the highlight of the day for us. We have been looking into getting some ourselves. We were lucky enough to be there when they were being fed and the gentleman feeding them was so incredibly friendly and helpful. He told us all about them, their behaviour, their origins, their wool. What a lovely guy!

Beautiful country park with wild deer and birds of prey sightings on my last visit. Red kites and buzzards are visible in the sky at times. There's lot's of things to do and see here for families... and miles of bike trails on the outskirts of the park going to higher ground where the view of the park is spectacular 👍😁

Enormous and gorgeous park. Visited this place to see the Kite Festival, and we truly enjoyed it. It was well maintained and the staff were friendly. They explained some of the plants when they saw me having an interest in them. Perfect spot for a picnic in good weather. Beautiful ruins and gardens.

Had an excellent day here! The castle itself is closed temporarily (building works) but there’s still plenty to do and see. The playgrounds could do with a bit of TLC and perhaps made a little safer, but they’re still fun for the kiddies. There’s a lot of walking to be done, plenty of nice sights, the ruins are fantastic to explore. Toilets were clean, gift shop was ok, food and drinks were nice, there are peddle boats to hire, as well as karts etc so exploring the grounds if not on foot. Parking is great as long as you get there early, parking prices are reasonable at £6 per day. Would definitely visit again, and plan to when the castle is reopened.

We had a lovely walk here with dogs and kids. Plenty of grounds to explore. Lots of farm animals as well as their flock of deer. Good playground for the kids. Cafe and house were closed due to refurbishment when we were there - look forward to seeing them when they are reopened later in the year.

A place where you can take a break from the hustle and bustle. The area of the park is very large and although it is apparently very popular with people from the nearby Port Talbot, the place does not feel overcrowded. The biggest attraction of the park is undoubtedly the Margam Castle, but there are also other interesting places that you gradually discover while walking along the paths: orangery, church ruins, garden sculptures. It is worth adding that the castle, although it is certainly a pearl of architecture, has almost nothing to offer visitors inside. Practical information: access from the M4 is very easy, the car park is spacious and the fee for it is also a ticket to the park, you pay for it at the kiosk by the gate, and beware, American Express is not accepted there for some reason. Right next to the castle, there is a tea room, a toilets and a narrow-gauge railway station. There is also a beautifully made playground for children in the park.

Fabulous walks, scenery, amazing. Walked my puppy up and around the mountain area of Margam Park. Puppy was shattered and had fun. Saw lots of deer, beautiful sights. Walking boots a must if your heading upwards. Spent 3hrs walking. Absolutely a must!!! I'm privileged to live within a 10min walk so we are regulars. We love it!

Beautiful place some beautiful views and lovely walk around the orangery and park for kids. Historical too with a castle too. Steep in history. A day out easily. There is also a lovely little pantry and ice cream parlour plus 🚻 and lovely lake with wild birds.

Fantastic place. We weren’t there as long as we liked as not long into our visit my husband unfortunately fell out his wheelchair and had a seizure. The staff who someone walking nearby called were so considerate and clearly worried about him, they offered to refund our admission if we chose to leave. We went back in for awhile and the park was beautiful, they were in the process of doing yearly maintenance on some of the fairy area which looked great. It was a lovely spring day and the trees were in blossom so it was lovely to walk around if only for a short time. We will definitely be back and a big thank you to the fellow visitors and the staff who helped my husband.

Lovely place to have locally. The children's parks are well looked after & the children have plenty on site to explore. The fairytale land is also a great spot along with the animals at the top of the park. Lovely day out for the family/friends. Toilets around the park could be cleaned more often though as not very nice & always soaking wet floors.

Very nice park lovely walks just shame when we went up to the pulpit to see the views the weather changed and we were shrouded in cloud. I did see a female deer cross the path about 20 foot away. The house/castle was very nice but was being renovated so we could not go close. The tree in the photos was the Welsh tree of the year for 2021 it is over 800 years old well worth seeing. I would like to go again when the weather is better. An amazing place and so much to see.

Lovely out of season walk round the grounds. Excellent enjoyable walk. Didn't check out "Go Ape" didn't see any apes, but did see 7 deer of all shapes sizes and ages!
