What an amazing place, bit of a pain in the arse to get too but once there, its like your miles away from everywhere!! Once you get through the underpass the sound of the roads soon disappear leaving you lovely sights and sounds. Huge rhododendron bushes galore!! Love wild garlic? Fill your boots as its everywhere in abundance!! Following the paths you can easily go off walking for hours on end!! Dog friendly so they can run around like loons apart from in the dingle where they have to be on leads, small car park so worth getting there early for a space, small disabled parking area, no ev charging points and no cafe...yet. areas on the top of the hill (quarry top) where you can picnic off the beaten track. Some steep areas though so suitable footwear needed.

Lovely, beautiful, stunning park, hidden away. Close to M4, but you'd never realise. Safe for kids & dogs, no swings or slides, free car park, toilet facilities close to car park. Recently added boardwalk allows disabled & buggies easy access to grassland picnic area. Well worth a visit.

A real hidden gem. The sound of the motorway soon disappears and you’re left to walk around a really pleasant and accessible nature walk. Free parking & toilets.

Went to find the afterlife bench which is in a lovely spot! The park is nice and there’s longer walks up the hill as well - these are quite steep in some places and pretty muddy!

Nice walk, quite a busy place. Lots of dogs running loose, running up to other dogs on leads, just be careful if you have a nervous dog. Plenty of bins along the path, didn't see any rubbish while walking, which was good, a few lumps of dog mess that had been left by irresponsible owners. Overall, it is a lovely place, and I will visit again.

I haven't been to Cefn Onn for a few years and I must say, it's looking lovely. A lot of improvement work has been done. The large pond is looking great, there's a new elevated boardwalk that takes you up to the playing field and the pathways have been upgraded.

A beautiful hidden gem. Don't be put off by the underpass and motorway traffic noise near the entrance. Famous for its rhododendrons follow the trail to the beautiful dingle-you could be anywhere in the world amid the peace and wonderful trees. A great place to explore with many paths, streams and bridges. Usually quiet.

Magnificent park for everybody to enjoy. I particularly love to come here in the autumn when the leaves colour changes. It's a sanctuary for anyone who's looking for peace and quiet.

Lovely park, lots of places to walk and explore! Sadly, no café, the parking is very limited, and the entrance leave you with unpleasant smell in your nostrils... Otherwise worth visiting.

So different trails and tree and plant types. The odd carving here and there. Ones I've never seen before too. Very scenic. Chilled spot for a leisurely walk. Few pubs close by.

Parc Cefn Onn isn’t one of the ‘big name’ parks in Cardiff, but it’s lovely and my favourite of the many parks here. It’s a hidden gem. There’s a car park at the entrance with some disabled spaces. Lisvane & Thornhill station’s also a short walk away (less than five minutes), trains run here from Cardiff Central and Queen Street (anything going to Caerphilly/Ystrad Mynach/Bargoed/Rhymney) will stop there. Although the entrance to the park takes you under a bridge with the M4 on it, the sound of the traffic soon disappears. It’s very tranquil. Just beautiful in the spring time because of all the blossom trees. It’s not one of the manicured Cardiff parks with flower beds, it’s all about the trees here. There’s a nice pond at the top of the park and a stream runs through it too. You can either walk the main paved path, or take dirt trails of it. There isn’t a children’s playground here, but it’s still a lovely spot to go walking with little ones. The entrance to the park also has a few public toilets, which includes a disabled toilet.

Nice little park where you can access paths and bridleways up into the hills beyond, which is what I did. A steady climb up but nothing too strenuous. I followed a bridleway and through the park, up the bridleway, around and back down was 4 miles. Some nice wooded areas and and it opens out at the top with some nice views through the trees. I would recommend for a morning or afternoon stroll 😊

Lovely park for a leisure park. Definitely kids should wear their shoes for water fun(wellies etc). Perfect place with loads of nature walk, small waterfalls, next to golf course.. You will find loads of dog walkers as well. Nice place to spend a day.

Lovely hidden gardens, with pond. Originally private garden but now owned by Cardiff Council. New toilets built. Would be nice to be able to get refreshments or icecream. Dogs should be on lead but many flout the rules.

Really nice little park, the Japanese garden is beautiful. You can walk around the park and Llanishen Golf Club which is situated next to it, there are some spectacular views as you pass it, we'll worth a trip. Has a nice spacious area for picnics towards the top of the park.

Absolutely beautiful park with a wide variety of scenery. When we went, the park was facing a strange disease that exists within trees but maintenance ensured everyone was well informed with the use of signs and posters. The location is well looked after and does not provoke that anything damaging has occurred. The park has an abundance of different areas such as a lake, an open field and deep forests which contain some animals. A very lovely place to visit and walk around.

Lovely Park, it's quiet, right next to a train station but you can't hear anything from that within the park. Loads of different routes to take and lovely flowers.

One of our favourite places for family time, such a beautiful walk and a real doggy paradise, plenty of places to sit and relax, wether it be a bench or a patch of field, any fans of Ricky Gervais' 'after life' will be sure to find the special bench donated to the park. The pond is beautiful to look at with all its wildlife, although its water is full of algae, which runs throughout the park, be sure to be wary of your furry friends in the streams, a home away from home, special.

It is a beautiful place for a walk. It's popular for dog walkers as well. Lots of trails to choose from. I would advise wearing boots you don't mind getting muddy. Even though most trails have walking treads laid down; there are trails that are muddy.

Lovely little walk with a field at the end that's perfect for a picnic, there's also a variety of colourful flowers and plants along the way.

A lovely place to walk, not too strenuous. Parking and toilet facilities available. Especially nice in spring time.

Lovely space. Famed for its rhododendrons. Lots of paths lead off the main drag and opportunities to explore the park. Sculptures for the kids (and adults!) to find too. Great for dog walking. Car park can get busy.

Really nice place. Gorgeous and quiet. Thank you for all the hard work put into it. The trees looked stunning today. Sad to read about Sudden Oak Death, though it fascinated the children. Thank you for providing great toilets and an outdoor tap for cleaning shoes and offering drinks to animals. One thing I will say, the park is wheelchair accessible but not wheelchair friendly (due to slopes and lack of direct access to benches - borders and bark in between the tarmac pathway and the benches). Best for scooters if needing to bring a wheelchair. Would appreciate more information on the Noticeboard about the hire of 4x4 scooters as it was a struggle wheeling my husband up the slopes today. Would be helpful for our next experience. Honestly though, what a beautiful park. Will visit again when we have access to a scooter or when I get fitter 😅 I've heard the rhododendrons look amazing so we hope to return then 🥰

Has a few routes to follow but the one that goes up to the golf course is best as there is a expansive field at the top. So many species of plants beautifully tendered, a calm oasis on the outskirts of the city

A beautiful place for a walk. Amazing trees and shrubs. Water too. We saw a buzzard taking a squirrel, lots of birds and dragonflies. Highly recommended.
